Fernal is so tempted to rush back, but she has to agree with Aelfric. It would be a fools move. Even now she fears our presence is known and will make this run harder later. We Hurry. She steps to the stairs and goes into stealth mode to move down it.

"Wait." Julian extends his hand to grab Fernal. He didn't have the strength to stop her if she resisted, but hoped she would heed his warning. "I am scouting the area ahead. Let us not wander blindly into these dungeons."

Fernal stops Okay She seems anxious to move but is waiting.

The half-orc could not believe that Alain decided at the last minute to create a diversion. He swore this would be the last time he'd work with these ill-disciplined humans. He tempered his tongue with his approval at Julian's distraction, which got them safely into the supply room. Korgazhar did a quick search of the room while Julian used his magic eye to look further ahead.

Korgazhar
The room is full of rotting foodstuffs, bags of grain, crates and barrels of all sorts. On cask he finds open and smells of wine, though it seems more vinegar than anything else. Beyond that, you find nothing of any real interest.

Julian
Sending your eye below, you find a large, wide open area a the base of the stairs. A wide tunnel leads out of the south wall, while a pair of smaller tunnels exit east and north. Numerous tables and benches are pushed up along the walls, and a trio of doors are on the far side. Torches line the walls, giving the entire place a dingy-orange glow.

Julian took a brief second to glance at the map he'd drawn of the steading, helping himself to remember where the majority of the orcs were being held prisoner. He moved his eye in that direction. "The way is clear. Go."
OOC:
@DM: Can you remind me where I last saw the orcs being kept, or mark it on the big map?

OOC:
The orcs you saw did not appear to be 'kept'. However, they were in the south eastern cave complex.

"Start with the prisoners." Korgazhar reiterated the plan they had agreed on before they set out. "They would've either killed or jailed the leaders. One of them can then lead us into the caves to get the others."
Apr 23, 2019 4:33 am
"These are your people. We follow your lead with them," Ælfric said, and somehow kept the disgust he felt for Orcs as well hidden as possible.

"Are you sure they will follow your lead, Korgazhar?"
Apr 23, 2019 4:59 am
"If they don't, I will kill them myself." Korgazhar sneered. "For now, I intend merely to beat them into submission, should they resist. It is a better fate than slavery with the giants."
Apr 23, 2019 5:16 am
"Slavery or side dish," Ælfric commented as they walked into the depths.

OOC:
Ok, I assume you are going down the stairs and into the main chamber, but where from there?
Apr 23, 2019 5:19 pm
OOC:
once Julian says the coast is clear we head for what looks like prison cells east of the first chamber we enter from our stairs

Moving quickly and quietly across the open space, you reach the door to the cell block. The door itself is a thick cord of wood with a barred window. Through it, Fernal, you spy a long hall with doors constructed from metal bars, all of which are fastened closed with large padlocks. The interior of the cells cannot be seen; it is pitch black. Not even the light of two nearby torches can penetrate the inky blackness. You can see a pair of burly bugbear guards about halfway down. They are speaking to one another, pacing the hall, drinking, eating, and generally doing what most bored guards tend to do.

What catches your eye, however, is the large brass gong midway down the cell block, and the large striker standing against the wall next to it.

Julian
You move your eye slowly south, as the rest of the group moves to the cell block.
OOC:
I am assuming that you move it all the way down? Or just part way, pending the others' actions?

Apologies, but I’ll need stealth checks from everyone.
