Grog may be a simple dwarf, but he knows a skunk when he smells one. Mainly because he'd been sprayed by some many a time.

"Grog no like story... Other people wear shiny, but weres no like shiny... Shiny people think hill people witchy...

He furls his brow, trying to make sense of it all. Though if smoke and steam could come from his ears due to him trying to think, it would.

"clearly some conversations need to be had between the 2 groups. I may not be the smartest when it comes to the ladies. But I do know that wear-creatures dont much care for silver or iron much. So why is that the "silverback" wear-people be dealing, trading, and making things with nothing but silver. Nextly where is this cove of hers? Also what does she and her sister do to keep the silverworkers from coming up here? they seemed like a nice lot as long as you dont touch their ornaments.

"So you HAVE been to the village. Wait, you didn't buy any of their "silver," did you? A lot of that shit is fake, mixed in with the real stuff. You can bet those wolves are wearing counterfeits. The only silversmith on the island you can trust is Zilar, who lives up near the mine, but he doesn't like visitors." The man lifts his hat and runs his fingers through his thinning hair.

"Those liars told you we were witches, did they? Now you understand why they'd say that. We don't know how the Coven keeps the wolves away from this side of the island, we're just glad they do as long as we pay the tribute."

The man nervously takes his hat in his hands and looks like he's doing his best not to gnaw on it. "But now I don't understand why Magda took Lena. And what happened to Henry and our other friends. The Coven's cottage is that way. It overlooks the cove."

"Perhaps she's trying to keep the child safe? While out on the ship we encountered some mansharks and a large floating island thingy. They said it was some sea dragon tortle? But Magada and the baby were the only survivors of the attack I guess. They know more about it."

"We honestly don't know what would happen. We're just simple folk caught in the middle. Poor Lena." The elder says the last with finality, as if there's nothing to be done. He looks up at the darkening sky. "You're welcome to stay the night if you want. Can't offer you much, but we have a warm fire, at least."

THE WOODS

Ian and Nela make their way through the woods in the deepening gloam. The susurration of the wind through the trees seems to carry with it strange whispers. Mossy rocks make slippery footing, and slimy vines seem to reach for you from above. Through a rare gap in the foliage, you see two moons rising. They are both full.

Nela seems a bit energized as they make their way through the woods. Nela darkvision is starting to cut in as they travel.

Best we find a place to sleep soon as it is getting later. We should have just flown. Nela doesn't move at full rate as she knows it would leave Ian behind. She does seem to travel well tough the terrain as it doesn't really slow much down. Domare is ever present around her. Shine flies somewhere above.

Probably safer. Nela calls down Shine.

Lets mount and fly. We will get there faster probably too. Nela will mount up and wait for Ian to join.

Shine struggles through the forest canopy to get to you, but you are able to mount up. There's hardly room for the pegasus' wings but you leave the ground behind and start to gain some altitude. Suddenly, you are attacked by thorny branches and slimy vines!

Unsure of the rules of being. Can Nela casts spells? Shine tries to break free as it's hooves are not great for slicing up plant and fails

Ian draws hisnpistol and shoots. thankfully he has some normal shot with him.
(the stats and damage for the flintlock have disappeared from my sheet...not sure what the damage is)

Twisting in the monster's grip, Nela casts her spell. She becomes as slippery as a snake, wriggling free of the grasping vines. Shine, however, is unable to break free. The pegasus' wings are pinned against his body, and the vines are tightening their grip!

Ian shoots, but Shine's bucking throws off his aim.
