Zale wakes up to Grog yelling nearby. He can taste blood in the water, most of it his own. Without surfacing, he spots Magda waving the baby about. Zale longs to take the hag out and reclaim the babe, but seeing Phillip bleeding out and drowning, he decides to help the man out first. Zale hauls Phillip towards the wreck, then slaps him hard on the face.

Jack, ever the nimble sailor, hooks a toe under the haft of the axe and kicks it through the air to Grog, even as he leans back to take a stab at the captain as the weresharkataur runs towards his seaweedy self.

That attack out of the way, and the axekicking done, he charges towards the simulacrum, unleashing his full batch of stabbing slashing fury on the flora-based foe.

OA on Captain Weresharkataur. Object interaction to kick the axe. Movement to get to the salad. Action and Bonus action to make it a chopped salad. Advantage on attacks from recklessness all around.

Jack's aim is just a tiny bit off, and Grog fails to catch the axe. But he reaches over and easily retrieves the weapon, and is amazed to find that he can easily swing it even underwater!
OOC:
I just realized that I narrated but didn't roll Magda's claw attack vs. Grog. She also got an OA when Grog swam away from her. Attacks below: Action misses, OA hits for 5 damage after DR.

But Grog now has the sharktooth greataxe and can make his Extra Attack with it (no disadvantage for fighting in the water!) if he moves back into melee range.

Rolls

Action: Magda claws vs. Grog (AC 16) - (1d20+6, 2d8+4)

1d20+6 : (9) + 6 = 15

2d8+4 : (64) + 4 = 14

OA: Magda claws vs. Grog (AC 16) - (1d20+6, 2d8+4)

1d20+6 : (14) + 6 = 20

2d8+4 : (33) + 4 = 10

OOC:
Jack, your scimitar strikes took out the simulacrum. So your handaxe attack could have been aimed at Valrakas if you wish. Or you could have done something else with your bonus action.

Grog still has his extra attack with the sharktooth greataxe if he wants to take it (see above). After that, it's the baddies' turn again.
Sep 21, 2019 6:05 pm
Holding the new weapon in hand(s), Grog growls and snarls before going back in for Magda for the swipe she took at his perfectly toned, Dwarven buttocks!(Hard as rocks they are)
OOC:
Great Weapon Master on the attack

New Axe! - (1d20+2, 1d12+16)

Jineer and Jack take cheap shots at Valrakas as he charges past to bull-rush his seaweed duplicate. (Jineer: 4 piercing + 4 poison; Jack: 6 piercing. Then, Ian and Jack literally wade into the melee in knee-deep water, and rain down strikes on both of the horned combatants, (Jack: 6+11 piercing vs. Salad, 3 slashing vs. Val; Ian: 3 slashing vs. Val) but not before Jack kicks the megalodon tooth greataxe towards Grog. The simulacrum is turned into chopped salad

Having just tagged Magda on the shoulder with a javelin throw before getting his hands on the sharktooth axe, Grog swims back towards the hag with a big swing. But even though he puts his rock-hard buttocks into the swing, he misses with the strange weapon.

Meanwhile, even though her vision is swimming from losing so much blood again, Doc Nela spares a healing spell for Zale before she withdraws from the battle and heads below deck, where she shifts to her more bestial form. (Zale gains 11hp. Nela shifts, gains 9 temp hp)

Zale regains consciousness and drags Phillip to the wreck to administer some unorthodox first aid (Phillip is now stable). Looking up, he comes face to face with the raging weresharkotaur captain standing over the floating debris of what once was the salad simulacrum.

Jineer and Duplineer step forward and attempt to lift the lycanthropy curse from Valrakas... and it works!!! The minotaur spasms violently as the sharktail recedes into his arse, and the shark-face changes back into the familiar, bullish scowl.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" comes the familiar bellow of rage, "WHERE THE HELL ARE WE, AND WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS GOING ON?!"

Finally admitting defeat, Magda and Lilith both disappear - Lilith in a cloud of ink and swimming away, Magda going invisible again, taking baby Lena with her. (Lilith: Dash action, now 80ft away. Magda: invisible, but you can hear Baby Lena's muffled crying about 40ft away.)

Your turn! Do you pursue?

"Oh no, you don't!" Zale is faster in the water than even these hags. He swims after Lilith and tries to put an end to her. He doesn't manage to knock the hag out, but does manage to stun and incapacitate her.

Nela sticks her head cautiously out to judge the current situation. Does she view any of the hags as she does. Her attention is more directed to the crying of the baby.

Lilith and Zale are currently underwater, so Nela can't see them. Magda is invisible, but Nela knows she was last seen roughly 30ft off the shipwreck's port rail (basically, near the foot of stone stairway). Lena's crying echoes all over the cavern, so it's hard to get a good fix, but it does seem like it's coming from that direction.

Nela takes her best judgement and with a word lights up an area in hopes of catching the invisible one.
OOC:
As an action Nela is casting Faerie Fire (20' cube up to 60' away) DEX Save 16 DC if in the area to avoid getting lite up.
Sep 22, 2019 6:08 pm
Magda and Lena are lit up like fireflies. The hag is climbing onto the ledge, headed for the stairs.
OOC:
Magda is Faerie Fire'd. Attacks against her have advantage.

OOC:
Actually, Zale did knock her down to 0 hp. Was that nonlethal, or a killing blow? In any case, you can take back the 1 ki you spent for the stun.

Nela ducks back out of sight of Magda and gobbles as many goodberries as she can. She has 9 on her.
OOC:

OOC:
Did you cast Goodberry less than 24hrs ago - in other words, some time after the battle against the weresharks & merrows? If yes, then you can eat 1 berry next round.
Quote:
GOODBERRY

Up to ten berries appear in your hand and are infused with magic for the duration. A creature can use its action to eat one berry. Eating a berry restores 1 hit point, and the berry provides enough nourishment to sustain a creature for one day.

The berries lose their potency if they have not been consumed within 24 hours of the casting of this spell.
