Urik slumps against the cave wall, hurt badly and breathing heavily, but not crying out or asking for help. He pulls out one of the Stim Packs he purchased in town. He's never used one, but manages to figure out how to open the needle and inject himself.

He leans his head back and just breaths as the pain killers and bacta do their work.

Looking up at Kaveri Csillag shakes her head, "He's still out, let me try this...". Pulling out some bandages she compresses one of Dagger's more serious wounds and calls on the power of the force.

Csillag will use her Heal Force Power to heal 3 wounds.

Csillag - since we're in narrative time, we'll assume you can get to the point to succeed without risking Conflict. Dagger is healed 3 to 2 wounds and is conscious again, but not in great shape. Urik heals 5 wounds per stim rules.

Heyop would see who was abulatory or needed assistance moving out of the cave system a ways from their position. Once he thought they were in the clear or out of harms way he'd hand off the holocron if people wanted to move out of the area since he would let them know what he was going to do with the remaining wolves and wait unti everyone was out of possible danger sincec attempts to deminish the tainted area further might wake the beasts.

Is anyone going to help Heyop push his rock uphill? There's not a lot more, narratively, to close out.
Jan 14, 2016 1:17 pm
(OoC: I'm fine either way, it's more for personal reasons because of his past than something that will progress the story.)

Kaveri will help any injured people out who want to leave, but she returns to help meditate to cleanse the cave of the Dark with Heyop.
Jan 15, 2016 8:34 pm
Urik doesn't leave, but he also doesn't participate in the cleansing. He is observing...feeling what the others are doing with the force. He's only ever known the dark side...
Jan 18, 2016 3:49 am
In due course, Kaveri and Heyop are able to push the fury of the dark side out of the den mother. She is still a wild animal, but no longer twisted by the dark side and the negative emotions from some time ago. As you finish up, another small group of icewolves enter the cavern, but they are tranquil and mill about uncertainly. Moments later, the den mother's breath stills as she enters, what appears to be a very deep sleep. Moments later, she exhales her last breath and the remaining members of her pack howl mournfully as the oppressive aura within the cave begins to lift. The crystals in the wall flare to a bright incandescence, and when you are all able to clear your vision -- the pack is gone and you sense that the dark side presence within the cave has been cleansed, at least for now.

Gathering up the barely conscious Dagger and the wounded Urik -- along with the holocron -- you make your way back to the temple. The going is arduous, but mostly because you've been through a lot -- and you're still processing things. You definitely feel that you've helped fulfill the will of the Force in the cave.

In time, you arrive back at the temple -- and the Curator greets you at the door with great enthusiasm, "Excellent! Welcome back! Let us get my colleague's holocron back into place!" He leads the way into the holocron chamber in the temple and Heyop, the one who carries the holocron slips it into his dedicated housing.

A soft click sounds as the holocon slides snugly into place. A moment later, you notice the humming of generators coming online as long-dormant systems activate. The fierce-looking gatekeeper you saw in the caves manifests beside the Curator, but this time a wide smile replaces the aharsh expression you saw initially. "My thanks to you. It is good to be within the Dawn Temple once more, and to return to the charge I was forced to leave unguarded. My duties must be resumed, and it is thanks to you that this is possible. Without the third gatekeeper, my knowledge remains limited, but I will teach you what I know, if you wish it."

Her expression turns somewhat stern again, though the smile remains. "My lessons are not for the weak of body, mind or spirit. I do not think that is a concern for you, but even a Warden such as myself cannot protect you from your own failings. Be sure to make yourselves ready for the challenges to come. The last gatekeeper must be restored."

"Understood Ma'am, but due to the injuries received during your retrieval... We should probably take some rack time to recoup." Heyop replied back finally feeling the effects of his own wound draining him of a will to push on until they had gotten back to the temple. He smiled slightly due to her demeanor since it reminded building in a way of someone in the military.

Kaveri takes time to recover, meditate, and practice her connection with the Force, in order to prepare for their next holocron-retrieval mission.

With Heyop's statement, the Curator and the Warden apologize and encourage you all to seek your rooms and recover for as long as you need. And, indeed, the march of time heals you all; especially when coupled with Csillag's help and medkit and a bit of mothering from Hethan Romund. As you all start to mill about some more, the Warden and Curator manifest and inform you of some doors at the back of the Great Hall which are now open, thanks to the Warden being restored to her place.

These permit access to a sub-level of the Dawn Temple and to a security center. From here, you're able to access security cameras around the temple and see what's afoot -- although with just the five of you in residence, it doesn't make for particularly gripping entertainment. The Warden does note that several systems appear to have been sabotaged due some tampering on the main level -- and she's happy to point out systems within the security system that could use some repair, if there was someone inclined to assist.

Hethan sallies forth from time to time from the Dawn Temple to the nearby settlements and city, conducting research -- acquiring supplies and generally getting the lay of the land. It seems she has something interesting bubbling, but she holds the details close to her chest when pressed, saying only "I need to make sure that I have a couple more sources that lock this down before I share it."

In time, the Warden reveals that she is quite happy to train each of you combat skills should you choose to do so. One day, she manifests when several of you are in the Great Hall and says, "Heyop -- I sense that you have rested enough. If you'd be willing, please get your lightsaber and show me some of the forms that you know."
Jan 20, 2016 5:44 pm
Heyop’s head jerked focusing on the voice when realizing the request in front of him, his mouth slightly open trying to figure out a response. His lips closed and pursed slightly. "If it’s all the same Ma’am I’d prefer to use my truncheon to demonstrate since I don’t actually have a lightsaber." he stated as he moved away from the rest and shook his head being a bit foolish at the request considering it was a Jedi Master and he had no lightsaber.

He controlled his breathing and his eyes fluttered down to slits. Visualizing an enemy in front of him his breathing stopped for a breath and his knees relaxed. His face washed over with a snarl as his hand blurred to his hip moving forward to thrust the tip of the weapon into an unseen foe with a dashing thrust his grip relaxing his body rebounding and moving into a series of blurring attacks in various directions his face dancing between devoid of emotion and rage as he transitioned between attacks.

It was an exercise to demonstrate speed and power of body to attack in rapid succession against foes given a larger area to maneuver in giving one a change to tear through defense through agility and speed of attacks before a defense can be truly mounted and moving out of range if a counter can not be achieved in the middle of combat.

"Fourth. Form. Way. Of the Hawk-Bat. Form. Of. Aggression." Heyop finally stated as he caught his breath waiting for the rebuttal of what he had just done wrong as he licked his lips before they tightened.

The Warden pauses, in appraisal. "Hmm -- I can see that you have a quickness about you. I think the Ataru form would be most suited to the way you move and are built. But what's this about not having a lightsaber? Surely all padawans still receive a saber from the Temple that recruited them before going out into the world? Have you lost it? A lightsaber is your life, you must care for it and ensure you don't lose it. Can you not requisition another one?"
Jan 20, 2016 6:57 pm
"Ma’am I’m not sure about the upper age limits for padawans but I don’t think I’d be able to apply currently due to age and 'other circumstances', we’re I guess currently all at the stage of padawan in knowledge of the force but most of us have lived a life devoid of the Jedi Order and it’s teachings to the level you probably assume us to have… Well Urik might actually be at the age of a padawan but some of us like myself are in truth at the age of starting a family and having a few kids…" Heyop stated clearing his throat and gritted his teeth, "For most of us our mentor has been someone who does not have the force residing in her, she is a scholar and what we each know is through her research and what best suited us during the interactions and teachings and ‘stuck’ in that one on one mentoring… I myself did my tour in the Army moved into Planetary Conservationist Forces as a Ranger. That’s where my mentor found me and trained me in what she could, she was kidnapped by people who brought her here and now I’m getting bit by "ghost wolves" retrieving you… otherwise I’d probably still be out in the sticks hunting poachers and smugglers on a planet in the outter rim, this is the only Jedi Temple I’ve been to and I don’t think a requisition for a saber would work with no quartermaster at this temple. I have never had a lightsaber Ma’am. To be blunt Ma’am these are damn harsh times and we’re learning and doing what we’re capable of rapidly as the need arises. But if there are lightsabers available I do think we’d like to requisition them…" Heyop stated in true milistic briefing manner, his last part unclear since he was unsure if she was offering, chiding him on his incompetence, or if the time she had been offline had left a disconnect in the state of the galaxy.

Blinking several times he eyeballed Urik several times and widened his eyes and shook his head slightly his nostrils flairing, hopefully Urik would understand Heyop meant don’t go around swinging the cursed tainted sword of a Sith in front of the woman… While Heyop didn’t might possibly having to run up and down the steps of the Temple and doing pushups the rest of the group probably would not like the ‘character building’ exercise.

The Warden pauses, taking this all in. "Oh. I see." A moment later, the Curator manifests before you -- next to the Warden.

"The Warden has mentioned that you have a supply issue," he begins.

"And, I can teach you to build a lightsaber," the Warden adds.

"But while there are many of the requisite components here in the temple -- enough to help you build the physical hilt for a lightsaber -- we do not have any lightsaber crystals," the Curator finishes.

The Warden paces slightly, "If you can find crystals -- I can instruct each of you to build a lightsaber for yourself -- and instruct you in the usage of the weapon that marks you as a jedi. It is an ancient weapon -- much more elegant than those blasters you carry -- and given proper training I can help you leverage your strengths with the weapon." She points at Heyop, "Your agility." And then to Urik, "Your strength." Lastly to Csillag, "Your intelligence."
Jan 20, 2016 9:52 pm
Heyop was quiet for once... besides the stuff in the cave he didn't really know what they needed to look for and this sounded slightly technical... he looked at the others since someone else might have a better idea of what to do...
Jan 20, 2016 10:10 pm
Urik would have paid very close attention to anything the Warden has to say. Watching Heyop's exchange and memorizing the forms Heyop demonstrated for later practice, after he's healed up a bit more.

Misunderstanding Heyop's eyebrow action, Urik pulls out Malifax's sword and shows it to the Warden and Curator. "This sword belonged to Malefax. He was...sort of my master...for a few years. He killed my parents," Urik chokes up momentarily, "I'd rather use a lightsaber, my own weapon, than this tainted sword. But its all I have right now. Can you help me to cleanse it of the bloodstains and make it more usable for me? It...resists me."

"Does this mean, then, that our using lightsabers will be necessary to retrieve the next holocron? If so, what are lightsaber crystals and where are they typically found?"
Jan 20, 2016 11:21 pm
"My own lightsaber?" the idea scares as much as it excites Csillag. "My training has always been in the area of healing - what would I do with a lightsaber other than embarrass myself?"

She stands silently as she ponders the idea.
