[IC] Graveyard Shift: Session 1
One thing I'm not to keen on in Genesys is that if an NPC lies to the PCs, the GM is supposed to roll a Deception check versus the PCs' Vigilance. This might make sense in some circumstances, but in most it's a huge warning to the players that screams, "Hey! This NPC is lying!" even if the roll succeeds and the PCs should remain unaware of the lie.
So, I offer this minor house rule: If, in the course of interacting with an NPC, you suspect they are lying or withholding information, you may roll a Vigilance check. The difficulty will be the NPC's Deception pool. In this case, Olarie Dribbage has no ranks, so your difficulty would be Average (Purple Purple).
Again, not saying Olarie Dribbage is lying or withholding information. But I wanted to make this clear as an option in scenes such as this. OK, back to the game!

She stands up straight and puts her cup and saucer down. "But a portrait! Yes, there used to be one above the mantle..." She pops up and starts looking around the room. "Where'd I put it? Oh, yes. Here it is!" She turns a large painting around so you can see the person depicted. "This must have been a fifteen or twenty years ago. He probably looks a lot older now."

* Perception: Is there anything off about this painting? Average (PP)
* Knowledge (Lore): What is potentially significant about this painting? Average (PP)

All get 1 setback (K) unless the person inspecting gets up close to the work.
Wow I analyzed the hell out if it, but at what cost.
