OOC:
Does providing assistance if you are trained in the skill (In this case deception) give more then a boost?
OOC:
In this case, Hildar has no ranks in Deception, so if Nera is helping him, she becomes the principal roller, and Hildar provides a boost. Difficulty remains as above.

OOC:
I'll roll at average Knowledge Lore then feel free to add difficulty if it's more complicated.
OOC:
GM Edit: Adding boosts for local knowledge, adding to difficulty.

Avg Knowledge Lore

2 Success, 4 Advantage, 1 Threat

Total: 2 Success, 3 Advantage

2 Advantage, 2 Failure

Total: 2 Failure, 2 Advantage

OOC:
Net result is failure with 5 advantage. How would you like to use those?

Nera looks right at Tronus and winks, having trouble containing a grin. She calls out to Olaire "He wasn't paying attention and an itsy spider scared the little hand mirror straight out of his hand. We'll clean it up, won't we?" She ribs Hilder with a timid amount of strength.
OOC:
With just one advantage can Olaire tell us about a conveniently placed cleaning apparatus, maybe a broom to clean up the egg pieces?
OOC:
GM Edit: You forgot a boost for the door being shut. (Second boost was from Hildar's assist.)

"Well... All right," the voice replies. "There's a broom and dustpan in the corner over by the desk, I think." There's a pause. "Please be careful. There's some expensive artwork in that room..." You hear the footsteps clip clop away.

As Lady Dribbage moves away, Nekkur whispers to Nera "Itsy spider, nice touch", he smiles before getting back to the investigation "Did you say there were footprints?". The half-catfolk quickly grabs the remaining pieces of the egg, hiding it to take (after all, lady Dribbage hasn't entered the room since the break-in, so she doesn't know what was stolen!) and then focus on the footprints.
OOC:
The only thing I can think about now is where they go... but we know they were also by the window... Anything else strange? Is the shape/size/mark a clue? Can we trace the thief's movements in the room?

I guess that will be at least an average perception, so GG + PP (YG + PP if I flip a SP).
Can I use magic utility to help?

How many advantage to not know who it is but know a guy who might know who the bust depicts? They'll likely want something for telling me though or it might take a while to find out.

Mengus Sits in the room reading his book he pusses a moment and say "Expensive you say how much does it cost then?"

OOC:
No roll required. The footprints found by other PCs (as side effects of their rolls) are enough to trace the path. We'll assume Barvek and Nera have both shared the results of their respective searches.
After Nekurr collects the debris from the egg, he considers the footprints noticed by Barvek and Nera -- some by the window, some by the bookshelf. The prints are quite clear, suggesting the burglar's feet were coated in mud when they entered the room. The path seems quite deliberate: The prints enter through the window, head directly for the bookshelf, and then head right back out.

The weirder thing? The footprints don't look like they were made by a boot, a sandal, or a bare humanoid foot. Instead... they look like they were made by something else.
[ +- ] Muddy Footprints
OOC:
Anyone can give me an Average (PP) Riding, Survival, Knowledge (Adventuring), or Knowledge (Forbidden) check to identify possible sources of such prints. The skill you choose will determine the kind of possibilities you think of.

OOC:
Just so you know, I will never throw an essential clue behind a single die roll. So, just because you can't identify the guy in the bust, that doesn't mean you won't be able to push forward in the investigation. But you idea sounds good; 5 advantage for a guy who will know absolutely.
Although he can't identify the man in the bust, Tronus thinks of just the person who could: an art collector named Devos Sabain who lives in Nornholt. The Dwarf makes careful note of some of the distinguishing features of the bust and files the information away in case a visit to the collector becomes necessary down the road.

Lady Dribbage doesn't hear Mengus's question, as she has already moved away from the door.

I still need you to choose one of the skills, though, since each one covers a different body of knowledge.

true... Survival since the immediate reaction is to identify the creature, with no reason so far to assume it is not natural?

OOC:
I'd say at this point, any of the skills could conceivably be suspected, but Survival is definitely a good start! I'll let your advantage give another PC a boost on their check (rolling a different skill on the prints) since you didn't specify anything.
The splayed toes of the prints immediately bring images to Nekurr's mind. A goat maybe? A boar? A deer of some kind? Definitely not a cow or horse. But how in the baronies could a goat have broken into the house?

What are you looking at? The room has been almost completely searched. You could investigate the painting, if you like. Easy (P) Perception check.

OK. Hope all's well. Translation of below: The painting is immaterial to the investigation. :)
Mengus studies the painting near the desk. It looks like something any number of noble families might own. Apparently, Vizeron Dribbage had pretty mundane tastes. A quick glance around and behind the work doesn't reveal anything hidden. The painting appears to be perfectly normal.
