CHAPTER 1: The Tainted Village of Hommlet

Cordon just manages to crack the Giant Adder with his footmans mace, making a fleshy thud. It flinches as the mace strikes it's side.

Cootufy flits a sling bullet however, the shot goes wide of the mark as the slithering adder weaves to the side and the bullet clatters against the moathouse wall. The snake hisses at Cootufy and it's eyes gleam as it contemplates the tasty snack before it.

Gwylihim's arrow zips through the air and hits the Giant Adder in the side, penetrating it's thick skin and now protrudes painfully. The snake hisses and shifts its gaze to the source of its pain.

@Tani are we using the weapon armor class adjustments table? If so, do you want us to include with our rolls? We will need the AC of the monster - in this case there's no modifier for Brock (assuming the snake's AC is 5)

Yes you are! You need to check the PHB for the modifiers for AC. That's how I understand it anyway. The AC of creatures and monsters is just that due to the makeup of their hide or skin toughness. You then apply those modifiers - I think it is on pg. 38??

When I make pre-generated characters and it lists their to hit scores, I have already added the modifiers to make it easier for everybody.

Brock's broadsword zings through the air and thuds into the torso of the snake. It cuts very deep and the snake is now mortally wounded. It hisses in complete frustration and anger and it's eyes flash about looking for its next combatant.

In an utter rage, the Giant Adder attacks Brocken after feeling the bite of his bastard sword. Maybe due to its injuries, the snake misses it's strike at Brocken, striking at thin air as he deftly skips out of the way.

Cootufy swings his shortsword at the snake but the snake is up for it and manages to weave its body out of the way and the shortsword cuts through thin air.
