Zigurd sees no more danger around the party, other than the rising water. In the hallway ahead spans the watery pit perhaps 10 feet wide where the floor gave way under Duren's feet. Beyond the pit the hallways continues and curves to the left.

OOC:

If the party wants to go forward you'll have to somehow cross the pit. 10 feet wouldn't be a hard jump for most PCs, but the water everywhere makes it considerably more difficult. I'm open to creative solutions! Or the group can go back and try another of the hallways.

"Yep!" Tip proclaims in response to Ziggy's question, gesturing to Duren as proof.

She colours slightly under Corunir's praise. "Oh, take a permanent nap, probably." She scurries away to peer down the pit. "So... over?"

OOC:

Tip can cast Jump, but that would be her last spell slot.

"Thanks, Tip. The dirt seemed to help," says Duren as he slowly gets to his feet with Corunir's help. "We've still got some work to do on those puddings don't we? Duren looks around he sees no attacking oozes. "Oh, I must have missed something."

Looking across the pit, he says, "I could leap across with a rope and it could help those who have issues with such feats."

I'm still very interested in continuing here. But you're the boss - won't begrudge a halt if you feel we've given the subclasses enough of a test run.

"I have rope," Corunir volunteers, then whispers, "Erm, how about we toss Zanzur across? Do you think he'll mind?"

I imagine the lag was more due to IRL craziness. I'm still having fun here so good to keep going or try something new. Whatever's most useful.

Instead she stops at the edge, nodding by as though she learned something, and returns to Corunir's side. "Better to ask forgiveness than permission," she whispers in return.

"Bouncy, Tip?" Zigurds says with a curious look, "I'm listening..."

I'm not sure that an underground trek through the oozes is the right kind of test for a Wyvern Predator Ranger.

"I can hear you all, you know?" Zanzur complains as the others joke about tossing him across the pit. At least hopes they are joking! "They're not serious, are they?" the gnome asks Ooblek nervously.

I think we've lost some players, but this adventure is nearly over. Shall those of us who remain carry on? And coming up next will be a higher level test, like 7th level or so.

Hmm... Hm hm hm... Ooblek scooches forward and slips its bulk into the pit with a wet *plop*. Then it shudders for a moment and stiffens. The top of its cube looks like a stiff, transparent bridge. Well? Over you all go! I promise not to eat any of you. It takes to whistling a cheerful tune as it waits for the party to cross.

As the last of the party crosses, Ooblek jiggles contentedly. This hole is actually quite nice. As far as holes go, I mean. I think I'll stay here. After all, what if you need to cross again?

Duren is able to make his way across with minimal effort. "Where to next?" he asks of everyone.

For the next adventure you'll be able to play the same character (leveled up) or a new one, whichever you prefer.

The party moves forward through the passageway and finds a new room. This room contains a stone fountain with a raised edge. The basin contains shallow, brackish water. At the center of the pool, the rubble of a broken statue rest atop a pedestal. All that remains recognizable are a pair of clawed stone feet clutching the pedestal’s top. Carved into the walls are seven niches. Water seeps into one niche through a crack in the wall. Three other niches are empty. Strange, formless sculptures occupy the last three niches.
