You'll still be at the setback die from slightly dazed though

Duke has a hard time finding an opening versus Mahoney, holed up as he is behind the metal desk. Max, on the other hand, has a better time of it patching up Guy. He slaps the older man a few times on the face and splashes a bit of water on him from a thermos. Guy stirs, feeling a tad better than unconscious. But it's a start.
OOC:
Guy is up!

Just a heads up: I'm going to be using the Nemesis "extra activation" rules to give Mahoney two initiative shots from here on out. Hopefully that doesn't come off as cheap; I want to make this a more even fight is all.

OOC:
can I get a quick rundown of who is still up and where they are?
Oct 14, 2020 1:38 pm
OOC:
From what I figured from my mind's eye. Fatima stomping Russian Enforcer that 'has a name'. Pantone's have ushered prisoners out and into their rides. Some prisoners went solo and booked it. For the trio. Max just healed you for a small amount, Duke was trying to bite Mahone aka Mayo in the junk, Henry had a rough swipe at Mahone and ended up getting an old filing cabinet collapsed on him with one draw slamming down on his neck I think. Guy is up but a little woozy still... I guess I'm going for helping Henry next if you're good to keep Mayo busy without getting knocked out again.

OOC:
I don't want don't risk it quite yet lol. I'll help Hank with getting unlined from the filing cabinet. Brawn check?
Oct 14, 2020 1:42 pm
OOC:
Yeah, that's pretty much it. You are all now in a spacious office room where there is a lot of office-y equipment. I don't want to describe it to a T, as that might forestall narrative opportunities raised by Story Point flips or symbols rolled. But what we've established so far is that there's a metal desk in the righthand corner opposite the door, which Mahoney has ducked behind. Flanking that desk are some large filing cabinets, one of which has fallen onto Hank and seems to be very heavy.

Guy can attack Mahoney if he wishes -- in your state, Ranged might be a good option (throwing things at him?). But you could also try to get the filing cabinet off Hank, thereby saving him the action to do so and opening him up for another attack. It's a Average (PP) Athletics check, but Hank could sacrifice a maneuver to give you a boost on that.
Oct 14, 2020 2:23 pm
OOC:
I'll give up a maneuver to help get this thing off me.
Hank strains at the filing cabinet as he growls, "Throwing furniture, Mahoney?! Just like a desk jockey cop to try to save yourself with paperwork!"
Oct 14, 2020 2:49 pm
Guy, still woozy, decides it's better to free a teammate rather than attack alone. He bends down and attempts shift the filing cabinet off Hank.

Rolls

Heavy Lifting

2 Success, 3 Advantage, 2 Failure, 2 Threat

Total: 1 Advantage

Oct 15, 2020 1:04 pm
With darkness still encroaching at the edges of his vision, Guy can't quite get his head in the game quite yet. The thick filing cabinet budges slightly, but remains in place. Still, woozy help is better than no help at all...
OOC:
Can pass a boost to Hank with the advantage, but he'll still need to make the check himself.
From the other room, you hear bare footsteps and then see Fatima appear at the entryway to the room. "He's at the desk! That's where all their records are kept!"
Oct 15, 2020 1:05 pm
OOC:
Sounds good.
Oct 15, 2020 1:10 pm
Mahoney chuckles at Fatima's outburst. "Heh heh. She's right you know..." He gives Duke a swift kick to his barrel chest as he pronounces the word right. The dog yelps as the boot connects, retracting a front paw and wimpering under the desk.
OOC:
That's 9 damage before Duke's Soak of 2, which I think puts the poor pup over wound threshold... Duke is also Cripped (Hard: PPP), meaning his leg is compromised until healed, so all his actions using the front leg are increased by one).

He'll use the 3 advantage to get an immediate free maneuver to open the drawer. Then begins his second go:
The detective yanks open the desk drawer and starts frantically rummaging through its contents... "Shit! Where is it?" He can't seem to find what he's looking for, but you all realize that the situation is much more urgent than you thought...
OOC:
Will use a maneuver to activate Rope-a-Dope (means it costs 1 strain to brawl/melee attack him). 4 advantage to give the next two of you setbacks.
[ +- ] Initiative Order

Rolls

Brawl (Striking): Body Shot w/Aim

6 Success, 4 Advantage, 1 Failure, 1 Threat

Total: 5 Success, 3 Advantage

critical hit on Duke (over threshold) - (1d100)

(100) = 100

Perception (upgraded with SP, setbacks for heat of battle)

2 Success, 4 Advantage, 3 Failure

Total: 1 Failure, 4 Advantage

Oct 15, 2020 1:33 pm
Hank continues straining at the filing cabinet and roars with the effort. The filing cabinet rolls off of him and crashes into the back of Mahoney's knees, knocking him off-balance. Breathing heavy, he stands.
OOC:
I'll use the advantages to pass boosts to the next PC. Also taking 2 strain to stand.

Power Lifting with Hank (Athletics w/ setback and boost)

5 Success, 2 Advantage, 1 Failure

Total: 4 Success, 2 Advantage

OOC:
FYI Next PC (Guy) had +3 boost from me. Also Mahone had a setback to his first action from the setback die buy from advantage. Or someone could I guess get 5 boost die now since everything is done. Didn't have time to point it out before results.
Oct 16, 2020 12:47 am
OOC:
Yep, my bad. 5 boosts to next PC, plus the setback tossed by Mahoney.
Oct 16, 2020 11:59 am
OOC:
What's the roll to flip/drop the desk on Mahoney and stomp on it in a not very professional law enforcement manner? Asking for a friend that has an injured puppers...
Oct 16, 2020 3:38 pm
OOC:
It's a beast: massive and made of metal. Plus, he's actively using it. With weight plus resistance, we can call it Athletics, Formidable upgraded: RPPP.
Oct 16, 2020 5:16 pm
"Well I guess you treat all rookies horribly... this is probably why they call you Musty Mahoney behind your back cus you never get promoted old man!" Max state moving in and trying to flip the desk on the doggie damager loosing his cool and starting to see red.
OOC:
I guess it was obvious from the grunting and slow partially lifting that didn't go as planned... as for the Triumph and 4 adv, Max does something vital and 4 boost to next PC.
OOC:
GM edit: Missed the 4th P...

OOC:
Just corrected the difficulty, and Mahoney's not prone, so no extra boost. That nets 2 boosts to the next PC. I can riff on "something vital," but a bit more idea of what you're thinking if you get the chance?
Oct 17, 2020 9:46 pm
OOC:
Maybe the McGufin/Widget Mahoney is looking for seems now obvious to the rest of us and we realize where it is when he doesn't or since several are battered he monologues since he has the higher ground and we can't stop him before he trips on something putting himself in a rough spot?

Update: I guess that'd total 2 boost next PC then also after the new total rollup?
