Kel nudges Kirsk, and whispers to him. "Want to try the talking thing again? Maybe show them how to light a fire, while we sneak around them to flank?"
May 22, 2020 10:50 pm
Because of his inexperience or naivety, Zachary approaches with the intention of supporting.

Maybe a little magic help, I know one or two tricks that may help us trick them.
May 23, 2020 2:22 am
Kirsk studies the area around him and the group. " I don't think they would buy me being one of them without a robe. I do not feel Bahamut would reward me through trickery, but his favor may shine on an honorable challenge. You three skirt around the far side, I'll count to 50 and offer a challenge and see who accepts. If I can draw them away I will and you can attack those that remained. The building may not catch yet, but they may get it to light soon. I'm worried that 8 against our 4 in an open field would be suicide, but if I can draw some away, it may even out the numbers."
May 23, 2020 8:14 am
As you discuss your plans, the smoke is now so thick that you can’t see the four men anymore. You can still see the outlines of the kobolds and you can still hear the four men bickering about the uselessness of their attempts at gaining entry to the temple. "*cough* it’s not like your stupid idea of repeatedly ramming our shoulders into the door was any better!".
OOC:
Sassafras sent a note to Coachthor
May 23, 2020 8:28 am
'I will remain here and aid from this side, I do not want to risk my armour alerting anyone. Whatever we do, we want it to be quick.' Octavia looks for somewhere she can stay out of sight as she talks.
May 23, 2020 12:30 pm
"Kel, you seem to be the most silent, can you move along the side closer to the doors. If you see a way in or a chance to attack from behind do it. I will step forward and call them out and try to move away from the building. Octavia wait out of sight using the wall until I am engaged and attack from the side. Zachary can you use your magics to fight from cover of the wall? We need to act fast and if we can get some of them away from the building and killed quickly we will be better off."
May 23, 2020 4:08 pm
OOC:
So the plan is: Octavia and Zachary wait by the wall on the west side, ready to ambush. Kel tries to move over to the east side to find a way in or at least scout, if nothing else to try and flank. Kirsk tried to draw some away in an ambush over by Octavia and Zachary?
May 23, 2020 4:41 pm
OOC:
I think that's the plan, I was waiting for everybody to get a chance to respond
May 23, 2020 4:59 pm
OOC:
Yeah, no worries. I’ll give Kel and Zachary time to respond. I just needed to make sure I was clear on the plan from my end
May 23, 2020 6:24 pm
Kel nods, her face set with grim determination as she lowers herself to the ground and moves swiftly in a wide arc to put herself on the other side of the cultists. Once she thinks the time is right, she'll jump into action.
OOC:
Going to move to some place of cover within 40 feet of the group. Going to roll with advantage considering the billowing smoke and the fact that they seem rather preoccupied. Feel free to disregard.

Rolls

Stealth (Advantage) - (1d20+4, 1d20+4)

1d20+4 : (14) + 4 = 18

1d20+4 : (7) + 4 = 11

May 23, 2020 8:25 pm
Kel, you move silently along the wall and gets into position. You are now placed a little further east with a good overview of the entirety of the back of the temple...or at least you would have had, but the smoke is so dense that you can’t see much. But you’re in position to execute the plan
May 23, 2020 11:23 pm
OOC:
Sounds good to me. Let's see how this plays out.
Zachary nods and moves in the direction of Kirsk's proposed flank.

His concerned nature makes him notice how his robe crawls on the ground. This leads him to hold it in one hand and crawl awkwardly across the floor, hoping that no one notices the extreme care he is taking with his clothing.

Holy Lathander, this is embarrassing.

Whispers under his breath.

During his walk, Zahchary performs hand movements, preparing to invoke a hex if necessary.
OOC:
Gonna prepare Ray of Sickness in case this goes south. Let me know if I am missing any skill check
May 24, 2020 12:45 am
Kirsk climbs over the wall, and in the opening between the two trees he calls out towards the cultists. "If the fire your lizard breathes is as dangerous as the fire you are trying to light this village is pretty safe. Tell me truthfully Dwarf, is the scale rot that covers the skink you grovel before caused by the kobald filth it lies in all day, or is it just because its naturally diseased and decrepit? Now throw down your arms or face the wrath of a warrior of the true dragon!"

After Kirsk’s brash challenge follows only silence. Then the four cultists step out of the smoke, the four kobolds following to their left. The four cultists might all be dressed the same but still it seems like the dwarf leads the rest, his demeanour a little more brash than the rest. He laughs at the sight of the solitary half-orc, the others follow his lead and joins in a second later.

"Who in the bloody ‘ell is this fool? Actually, ye know what? Who gives a shit! Kobolds, show this Bahamut following idiot just how powerful Tiamat is!"

The kobolds look at Kirsk, then at the cultists and then back at Kirsk. They don’t look as confident looking at pure size difference between them and the half-orc. The dwarf snaps his head towards them and bellows, "NOOOOW!. The kobolds scurry into action as the four cultists turn to walk back to the door.
OOC:
Rolling initiative. I’ll say Kirsk is 30 ft away from where Octavia is hiding, so you can use a turn to move there and ready an action to attack the kobolds as they approach

Kel uses the Dwarf's signal to attack as her own, bursting from her hiding place to attack the kobolds and drop as many as possible. With lightening speed, she slashes with her sword, follows with a punch, and kick, and another punch.
OOC:
Using a Ki point to use flurry of blows.
Well, that was disappointing. Any chance on advantage since they didn't see me?

OOC:
Give me a stealth check and roll your attack rolls as advantage. If you beat their passive perception DC, I’ll allow the advantage
May 24, 2020 8:02 pm
With blistering speed and barely a sound, Kel sprints forward. No one notices her, not even her ally Kirsk, until a blade plunges through the chest of one of the kobolds. With astonishing pace, she targets the last three kobolds' soft throats with expert precision. When the whirlwind of destruction stops, Kel is the only one left standing. The cultists, hearing the commotion stops and turns to see their draconic allies dead on the ground. "What the...", they look set to join the fight but they look rattled.
OOC:
Good god that was a lot of damage. I allowed a cleave in there as well to kill all 4. The cultists are aware of Kel and Kirsk and are going to attack on their move. Two PCs before then though
May 24, 2020 8:09 pm
It turned out Kel was definitely not as harmless as Octavia had originally thought. Now was the time to press the attack while teh cultists were surprised. She steps out at runs up to stand next to Kirsk, loosing her spear at the end of the run, hoping to skewer the dwarf.

Rolls

Spear - (1d20+6, 1d6+4)

1d20+6 : (15) + 6 = 21

1d6+4 : (5) + 4 = 9
