Wow, yeah, that's pretty crazy. With a nat 20 then I'm gonna sprinkle a little insight in there as well
Kel, you close your eyes and focus on what you can hear and you determine that it sounds like something heavy keeps crashing into the front door. You hear indinstinct voices, it's hard to really gauge how many, but there's at least a couple of male voices speaking what you think might be common, a few voices speaking draconic in the raspy voices you recognise as belonging to kobolds, and a female voice also maybe speaking common.

You look at the door and determine that this is a heavy and sturdy but ordinary door. It's got a keyhole lock that may be able to be picked or opened via magic. Judging by its appearance it looks like it would take a lot of strength and time to force it open, not impossible just very hard. Judging by the sounds coming from the front of the temple, you might not have that time. You also think that maybe if there's someone on the other side, you might simply be able to convince them to open it up.

Kel relays what she notices to Kirsk. "I don't think we're going to get into this door any time soon, but if we're lucky, someone on the other side is listening. I'm not the most personable person, so maybe you can convince them to open the door."

Whoever decides to give it a go give me a persuasion check

Kirsk thinks a moment, clears his throat and knocks on the door."If anyone is behind the door, I am Kirsk, Paladin of Bahamut the Justice Bringer, enemy of those that try to destroy and befowl your sanctuary. My allies and I have cleared the path to the keep and we are here to rescue you. Please, open the door, I do not know how much time is left."

Octavia pulls her spear out of the dwarf and flicks of the blood. Memories of pasts long gone kept trying to flood back, but she would reminisce later, both the good and the bad. There were people to save, to spare the same fate of others.

She walks up as she hears Kirsk try and persuade the others to let them enter. He would likely word it better than her. She had always let Solana do the talking and negotiating while she did the metalwork.

OOC:
I read it at least three times that Octavia licks off the blood... until I kept rereading it, my entire view of Octavia had changed..

OOC:
That would be so brutal haha
Zachary is startled by Kirsk's loud knocks on the door.

Spectant, watch as he honestly shows up at the gates requesting access.

Zachary wonders if it's wise to announce yourself that way to potential friends or enemies inside the building.

It's ... nice to know you don't beat around the bush Kirsk.

There’s only silence for a few moments but then the door slowly creaks open. A scared looking man, dressed in a simple white shirt and dark brown breaches, is facing you with what appears to be a large iron candlestick, the spear normally holding the candle is now pointing at Kirsk. He doesn’t turn his eyes away from you, but another man creeps up alongside him and peers around the corner. Seeing the corpses of the fallen raiders, he lets out an audible gasp and quickly motions for you to enter.

As you enter the temple you see about 30 people huddled up together in smaller groups around the large open space. Most of the movable furniture has been pushed up against the front door, the only furniture still in place are a few benches and the altar dedicated to what you assume is Chauntea. The people all look scared except for a half-elf dressed in a grass green robe. He looks up at you as you enter and immediately strides over to you.

"Hello, my name is Eadyan Falconmoon, I’m the priest of this temple. Who are you?"

You hear a loud boom of what must be a battering ram against the front door.

" I am Kirsk, Paladin of Bahamut, Governor Nighthill and Escobert the Red sent us to rescue you. There's not much time but we can get you safely to the keep if you leave now. Quick everybody, needs to come this way, the doors won't last much longer."
May 27, 2020 7:56 pm
Eadyan is about to speak but the man who beckoned you inside at the back door beats him to it. "I saw what you did to those..those thugs out there, and it’s very impressive, but the town’s overrun. We’ll never make it to the keep, we’re safe here. The doors will hold".

Another loud thud echoes through the temple.

'Either we sort out what's at the front door, and possibly fail, or you can all come out this way and sneak away with us. '

Octavia, can you give me a persuasion check please

Edit: You’re also all welcome to give me insight checks if you’d like

The man looks terrified at you and then at the front door as you hear another loud thud. His head looks in horror at the front door as a large crack appears in it. He then looks back at you with a steely resolve. "Okay, lead the way". Him and Eadyen start to corral everybody together, another loud crack from the front door signifying that it is in the knick of time.

Kirsk moves to the front door pulling out his warhammer, "Octavia lead them out, Kel and Zachary watch the flanks, I'll hold the door until everybody is out."
May 28, 2020 1:59 am
Kel nods in understanding. "I'll watch the left, Zach, you watch the right."
OOC:
Going ahead and rolling perception for that.

Edit: Well this is going to be exciting.

Right, to start I'll do a few rolls. 1d4 for the amount of times the battering ram gets to hit the door before everyone are out of the temple. +1 for the round that it takes Kirsk to dash to the back door. I'll do some hidden rolls as well. I'll say that Kirsk bracing the door gives it 5 extra HP.
Kirsk, you brace up against the debris blocking the door while the other three escort the townsfolk through the back. As the final few people approach the exit, you dash forward just as you hear a splintering sound from behind. Chancing a look back you can see a large hole in the door, peering through a hole is a woman who you presume to be a type of elf due to her tall, slender frame. The upper part of her face is covered with an ornate dark blue mask that is made to resemble the top part of a dragons head. She snarls as she sees you and screams at someone you can't see, "GET THEM! GO AROUND!.

You all exit the temple, Octavia leading the way with Kel and Zachary just behind her, Kirsk makes up the rear to make sure that no one wanders off. Kel and Zachary, you are meant to keep a lookout but as soon as you step outside you are overwhelmed by the amount of smoke that is covering pretty much the entire backyard of the temple. You all know the direction to the stream is due south so you start to walk that way. Just as you reach the low stone wall, you all hear what you presume to be the raiders from the front of the temple come around to your side. You hear voices shouting hoarsely in draconic and someone shouting in common, "WH-*cough*-WHAT THE HELL!? I THOUGHT RAAB SAID THAT HE KNEW HOW TO START A FIRE!!?". You all manage to crawl over the wall and down into the stream, the raiders too disoriented to ever find you.

The walk through the stream towards the tunnel is nervewracking, but luckily you don't encounter anyone on your way and soon enough you reach the door that now looks like a broken sewer grate. As you approach, a guard peeks out from the darkness and breathes a sigh of relief. "Excellent! Governor Nighthill will be pleased!". The guard leads the way as you send in the townsfolk through the door one by one, finally you all take one last look around and upon seeing no noticable threat, you try to cover the doorway with the broken grate as well as you can and follow into the darkness.

You exit the tunnel on the other side and move back up to the courtyard. Governor Nighthill spots you and moves over towards you while looking around as families and friends reunite, a small respite of joy in the middle of a nightmare for the town of Greenest. "I can't tell you how much we as a town owe you". He firmly shakes each of your hands.

Sassafras sent a note to Coachthor

Whoo
Ocatavia only let herself relax when the last person was through the tunnel. 'Would any of you like healing? I hope Gond will spare me at least one or two more today?'

It was my pleasure Governor. Though we may need to be alert, they now we left, and so may be looking into how a large group of people just dissapeared. The gate is also unfortunately no longer locked, I will happily look into trying to fix it, or taking turns to guard it. She gives her report, ignoring the sting in her shoulder.
