The forest gnome mermerd a few words and charged his staff with a fire bolt. He took aim at owlbear, hoping to blacken his natural coat.

Gimblyn's fire bolt just misses the huge bugbear and Xora's arrows glance off of his armor.+
OOC:
Enemy Turn!
The large bugbear, Grol, steps forward and swings his massive morningstar at Stormsong, hitting him in the side (14 damage). Stormsong is able to move just enough out of the blow to stop it from crushing his ribs, but he's gonna have a nasty bruise in the morning

Snarl, the wolf, flanks his master's opponent and bites Stormsong hard in the leg (6 damage)
OOC:
Stormsong, make a DC 11 Strength save or fall prone!
The female drow is just as fast as her race's reputation would have you believe and in her short exchange with Kama, she is able to score a hit on his side, which is thankfully minimized by his armor (10 damage).
OOC:
Player turn! Give me some good rolls, guys! I'll give you each an inspiration (which have been houseruled to either give advantage on a d20 roll if used before the roll, or allow you to re-roll the d20 roll after the fact)

Kama presses his attack, trying to keep the agile drow back with a diagonal slash. Spent from the previous battles with hobgoblins, the half-orc hopes he has enough reserve to withstand these fresh opponents.

Stormsong summons the strength of the mountains of his birth to resist the powerful bugbear's deadly morningstar. He is able to avoid some of the damage but is bitten and knocked prone by the wolf. As he gets back to his feet to attack the wolf, he utters a few special words and draws upon his magic to heal some of his wounds.

Kama's attack strike the drow in the shoulder, digging into the flesh and leaving a long gash down her arm.

Stormsong is pulled down to the ground by the large wolf.
OOC:
You can get back up by spending half of your movement for the round. This won't provoke an opportunity attack. Either way, you still have the rest of your round to take :)
Xora breathe's lightning on the drow and bugbear, hitting the drow full force. The bugbear is able to avoid the worst of the attack and comes away mostly unscathed.
OOC:
Gimblyn and Stormsong still have actions to take

The drow is looking a bit worse for her injuries, but she still has a bit of fight left in her

sorry -- we were cross posting. The rest of my turn is in an edit above.

Snarl yelps as Stormsong's longsword digs into him and he lets go and backs off a couple of feet, snarling and getting ready for round two.
Aug 10, 2016 8:45 pm
Gimblyn raises a hand and three darts of magical force fly from his hand, slamming into the wolf. It yelps and growls deeply at the little gnome, thinking it will eat well tonight!

The drow lets out a low hiss and takes another couple of quick strikes at Kama, hitting both times (5 and then 9 damage)
OOC:
Don't forget about your Half-orc endurance thingy!
The bugbear swings wildly at Stormsong, but narrowly misses.

The wolf moves on from the bard, hoping to have itself a nice little meal of forest gnome! It bites down on his leg hard and pulls him to the floor (10 damage).
OOC:
Back to the players' turn!
Aug 10, 2016 9:32 pm
Stormsong whirls his longsword around in an attempt to finish the wolf before he makes a snack of Gimblyn!
OOC:
a Morningstar is bludgeoning damage, right? What weapon is the drow using?

Bravely putting his new companion's well-being in front of his own, Stormsong turns and strikes the wolf with an overhead chop, cleaving its skull and dropping it to the floor, very much dead.
OOC:
Good use of inspiration! Wolf is dead, bugbear is pretty near unharmed, and drow female is quite hurt
Aug 10, 2016 10:23 pm
I release my readied arrow towards the drow, then take my second shot at the bugbear. I then take a step behind the table, looking to keep it between myself and the two remaining combatants (or at minimum keep them focused on me while the others continue their assault.) I keep both the drow and bugbear in my sight.
OOC:
Moving to the bottom left corner.

Kama's blood seems to flow into his eyes even as it spills to the floor. With a guttural roar, he whips the longsword out to punish the drow's attack.
OOC:
Yes, using Relentless Endurance to maintain at 1 HP. Hope it lasts!

Xora's arrow slams into the drow's side, just below the ribs and sinks in deep, causing her to lower her defenses. Kama takes advantage of her distraction to remove her head from her shoulders.
OOC:
Drow is dead!
Xora's second arrow hits the bugbear in the arm, causing him to growl in pain, "You killed Snarl, I'll kill you all! he shouts out at the party.
OOC:
I'll give Valcos a day to respond before I take this action for him too

With a sigh of relief that the wolf no longer has a hold on him, Gimblyn stands back up and narrows his eyes at the last remaining opponent, "It's your turn, you brute!" He wiggles his fingers and four bolts of magical energy race around his friends to hit the bugbear in the face and chest.

Rolls

Magic Missile L2 - (4d4+4)

(3433) + 4 = 17

Wild Magic? - (1d20)

(11) = 11

Aug 11, 2016 3:45 pm
The bugbear growls and swings his morningstar directly at Stormsong's head, aiming for a quick kill. The bard is able to get his blade up in time to deflect the heavy blow.
OOC:
Back to your guys' turn

If you roll well, you may be able to kill him this round!
Aug 11, 2016 3:53 pm
Seeing the weakness in the bugbear's swing, the forest gnome focused his energy to the tip of his staff. A burning light ignited from the tip of the wood and shot a flame bolt at the hairy creature.

"I swear, stand down!"
