The noises emanating from the hallway set Elena on edge. Understanding what needed to be done, she quickly turned to Inquisitor. "You can come of your own choice, or I will literally drag you down this hall!" Elena growled, "Either way, you are coming!"
Jun 19, 2021 5:55 am
"Hey!" Charlie yanked his wrist out of Savant's grip, "I'm coming!" He wasn't eager to face another fight so soon, but it didn't seem like his companions would give him much choice. He hummed a low melody to try and calm down. His efforts did nothing but make it harder to keep pace with Savant.

"Inquisitor, Trigger, you seem to know how to handle a fight. Feel free to come up front." Charlie kept his tone lighthearted, but stopped himself from saying anything further. Sure, he'd had a bullet in him, but Archie had been in worse shape and was practically sprinting towards the inevitable danger. Charlie didn't have many excuses for staying towards the back.

"Naturally, I wouldn't let a civilian... he trailed off, remembering he's no longer a member of the police force.
He sighed, deployed his shield and made way to the front of the group.

As Archie and the rest of the party burst through the door, a slaughter is made apparent to their eyes.
Whatever this room once was, it is now destroyed beyond all recognition. Small red trees have ripped through through the floor, and have smashed every bit of furniture that once decorated the room. Upon said trees, several Frankenstein stitched corses are impaled, straight through their center, as if it grew right there them.

In the center of the room, with his back towards the party, stands a mountainous one armed man. His red cape is absolutely shredded, exposing the tanned skin of his back, slick with sweat and blood from several jagged cuts. Blood flows quickly from the mangled stump of his right arm, a large pool already formed at his feet. Directly in front of him, a spear is stabbed into the ground. Though how anyone could lift the thing is a mystery. It’s point is comprised of a sharpened red tree trunk, and it’s shaft looks far two wide for any normal hand to wrap around. The man stands deathly still, the only movement originating from his left leg. Where a tiny form clings desperately. Far to tiny. The child’s features are hidden, buried into the man.

From the far side of the room 3 stitched corpses pull themselves out of the newly created thicket, seemingly surviving whatever had happened.

"KID!" Archie rushes into the room.

Quickly, yet gently, Archie crosses the distance to the one armed man and grabs the tiny child. The child startles and whirls at Archie, eyes wide with panic and fear. In this moment the child's features are visible to the party. She appears to be a young girl, no more than eight given a guess. Her hair is shoulder length, matted to hell with blood and dirt, which clashes with the color which appears to be bone white. Her skin is unnaturally tan, not due to any sort of unnatural shade, but rather due to the fact that you can just tell that's not her original skin tone. Her right arm is wrapped in bloody bandages, and her clothes are all but in tatters, but the most striking and heartbreaking thing of all are her eyes. The large green orbs are utterly hollow and devoid of the sparkle of life that all children should possess. She possess the eyes of one who's been subjected to the horrors of life, but did not rise to meet it. The eyes of one who was trampled underfoot and left to bleed. The eyes of the hopeless. Said eyes lock onto Archie, the fear dwindles but the light does not return. Archie scoops her up and falls back to the group, his eyes never leaving the stitched corpses.

The stitched corpses finally finish pulling themselves up off the ground and begin their advance. Shambling in a rather disgusting way, each movement puling against the stitching, as if they were ripping themselves to pieces with every step. If they weren't copses they'd be in never-ending agony. As it is its just hard to look at.

Meanwhile, the man named Lance hasn't moved an inch, hasn't made a sound, didn't even react when the child released his leg. The blood continues to flow from his stump arm. It's hard ti tell if he's even breathing.

Gharn steels himself as he charges between the franken-corpses and the bleeding man. Looking over his shoulder, he shouts "I'll be covering for him, someone check the guy!" his necklace of runestones glowing with a dim blue light as mana is channeling through it; he targets the first Stichy closer to him and takes a swing at it with his sword.

Charlie nodded, rushing towards the bleeding man. "I'll check on him!" He shouted. As he ran, Charlie readied his pistol. As Gharn had already charged the closest corpse, Charlie aimed for the second closest. After firing he gently shook Lance's left shoulder.

"Hey," Charlie kept his voice low and calm, "Anyone in there?" He feared the man might already be dead, but then again, Archie had been miraculously pulled from death. Who's to say miracles happen merely once a day? Charlie observed Lance's injuries.

"Hey, buddy, you alive?"

As Charlie reaches out to examine Lance's injuries, his circuits flare to life without his conscious consent. An overwhelming amount of medical knowledge floods his mind and the extent of the man's condition becomes obvious to Charlie.

Lance has lost an alarming amount of blood, 1 whole gallon to be precise. Two thirds of his maximum amount his body is capable of holding. Technically speaking he should have been dead a long time ago, but somehow against all odds, sheer willpower is keeping his heart beating and his organs functioning despite his unconsciousness. In Order to survive he's going to need two things, most obviously the arm wound needs to be closed, and he needs blood to replaced what has been lost, but surprisingly this isn't the most pressing issue. His brain is what needs the most help right now, as it is its being starved of blood and therefore oxygen. If not addressed now it could result in major brain damage, or death. If treated now he'll get off with minor damage which mat only be temporary. Luckily his blood type is AB so blood donation shouldn't be an issue. Right now all Charlie needs to do is refresh his brain of the oxygen it needs, and he should last until the battle ends and more intensive care can be given.

The circuits deactivate leaving Charlie in a slightly hazy but with enough information to do what needs to be done. He glance's at the man's appearance. He appears to be wearing some kind of armored leotard. Which leaves his arms and legs mostly exposed. His face is all hard lines like it was carved from stone. His expression is frozen in a yell, most likely that roar from earlier came from him. His eyes are still open, the sclera is black and his iris's are red, that might be a side effect of whatever he did to make the trees. his eyes are also vacant at the moment despite being open, he is very much unconscious at the moment.

Upon retreating back to the door Archie take a look at his newly acquired burden, no longer trembling in fear but still far from okay. With his free hand, he smoothly pulls his hood down revealing his face. From the void the face of a tired young man is revealed. Messy orange hair frames his face and cover one of his eyes. The remaining visible one is blood shot and shadowed, denoting exhaustion and/or lack of sleep. Patchy orange stubble litters his jawline and cheeks. A small smile appears on his lips as he gazes at the child.
" It'll be okay. We're here now." The man says in quite possibly the softer than you could ever expect from the man. Though the child's expression remains unreadable.

With the smile persisting, he pulls the ornate crossbow from his hip and said. "Now get out of my sight you stitched bastards. And he fired.

As the bolt pierces the forehead of the one in the center corpse, Archie raises an eyebrow. "Poison doesn't seem to affect them, though i guess that means they really are corpses."

Protecting the unconscious man and the newly acquired child seems to be extremely prudent, so the remaining pair of ladies leap to action in their defense.

Upon seeing Archie fire upon the center Stitch, Elena also lines up a shot on the same target, hoping to take it down as soon as possible. The bullet connects directly with the Stitched Corpse's jaw, blowing it off completely with a spray of blood, however the black thread of the stitches on its body shoot out and retrieve the errant chunk of flesh and bone, quickly stitching it back in place. The Stitches pulse very noticeably in anger.

Aira rushes headlong into battle, bringing her large Black key to bear against these undead abominations. Unleashing a whirlwind of steel and fists. She Collides with the most wounded of the lot, caving in its skull with the large Black Key, and punching a hole through its chest where its heart should be. Pumping Chi into the Abomination proves to be a bad idea as Aira is hit with a massive feed back of nothing but screams. This thing is comprised of 17 different people, and all she was able to interpret from their patchwork soul was pain. The Corpse slumps to the floor, the magic holding it together finally overwhelmed.

As one of their number falls, the stitched corpses seem to twitch in an uncontrolled manner.
They then move at a simple unexpected speed that nearly pulls their limbs apart as they move towards the to closest targets.
The First Corpse continues to engage Gharn, While the third Corpse engages the newly advanced Aira. At almost the same instant they lash out with both arms, extending both almost like a whip with the pulsing black stitches.

Gharn with text book shield skills, bashes both of the limbs away, adding a quick flourish with his sword for good measure. ( Get Styled On).

Aira catches one of the limbs with ease and bats the other away with her staff, however the Corpse quickly retracts the batted limb and slams it against Aira's left hip. It's certainly not the worst things she's been hit with but it's certainly going to bruise.

"Does anybody here have medical supplies?" Charlie shouted, hoping for his voice to carry above the clamor of the fight. Charlie directed a hasty spell into Lance's head, willing the man's blood to respond. As for the severed arm, Charlie used his jacket to try and slow the blood flow as he put pressure against the wound.

"It's a good thing you're unconscious." He muttered to the bleeding man, "You can't complain about the pain when you're unconscious." Charlie hoped Lance at that moment, was blissfully unaware of his missing arm. It was a foolish hope, but he hoped anyways.

With the transfer of magical energy complete, the once deathly still body of Lance finally move. A deep desperate gasp for air. The black haze of his his sclera clears, and his iris's fade from glowing red to a warm brown. Speaking of his eyes, they immediately lock onto the much much smaller form of Charlie, man currently with his hands in a very open wound.

For a moment that lasts an eternity for Charlie, the full intensity of the mountain sized man's gaze stares into his soul, his expression unreadable, his sanity and current aptitude for coherent thought very much in question. The tension is immediately broken by his wide bloody grin, which despite being kinda gruesome to look at, conveys nothing but warmth.

"As... clep... ius... " The grin widens.
Lance returns his gaze to the front, spots the two remaining Corpses, grasps the humungous spear, pulls it from the the ground and hurls it with strength he really shouldn't be capable of mustering at the moment.

The air seems to distort around the weapon's path as it slams into the Corpse engaging Aira. It impales, and obliterates the entierty of the creature's abdomen spraying cunks of bone and gore out its back and onto the floor. The thing slumps over, dead once more.
