After leaving the security office Sophia shrugs Pah, most security forces are only there for decoration and this on is no exception. No worries little one, we're gonna bring you to your mom
Sophia picks the little girl up so that she can sit on her shoulders
Let's go get her to her mom. I doubt that a heinous plan is behind a lost child. Sophia beckons the others to follow her to the address of the young girl's mother

Well, at least security will be able to say we didn't steal the child, if accusations are made later. Let's get the kid home before she grows up.

You summon a taxi from the starport to Rayshel's home. It is getting dark as you arrive. The home is surrounded by yellow crime scene tape and there are two armed officers standing guard out front.
May 18, 2021 1:36 pm
Sylvia stops at the sight of the armed guards. She looks around to see if she can spot a side door or entrance.

Aleksis looks around the area and then throws a glance of pity to the small child, fearing the worst.

After a moment, he steps up to the officers. "Good evening officers", he states, exaggerating slightly his already clear, high-born accent, then with a nod towards the house he asks, "Could you tell me what happened here?"

OOC:
There appear to be no other entrances.
"This is an active crime scene," the guard replies. "All I can tell you is that the homeowner has been killed."
May 18, 2021 7:14 pm
Sophia pulls Rayshel to her side and strokes her head so that she can, at least partially, cover her ears while she talks to the officer
Is the owner a certain Amanda Peterson? We found her daughter lost at the starport and wanted to bring her home...
May 18, 2021 10:35 pm
The officer checks a datapad. "Yes, the individual has been identified as Amanda Petersen. Is this the daughter? Are you family?"
May 19, 2021 2:43 am
I make an investigation check to see if these are real police officers.

OOC:
Quite real.
May 20, 2021 12:57 am
Sylvia approaches the officers. "We're looking for the husband of the family. I'm Rayshel's aunt and these are her aunts and uncles."
May 20, 2021 3:54 pm
Anton turns slightly and whispers to Carlos, "Can't we just leave the kid with the cops and be done with it?"
May 20, 2021 5:45 pm
"No idea where the husband is; apparently they were estranged."

We don't know if the kid may be a target and you know the cops will just put her in the system and forget her.

Carlos looks at the girl, does she seem to get what happened here?

OOC:
Some DMs don't like OOC stuff in the rp thread. Do you mind, if so do you want an OOC thread.

I ask because I am not sure what skill would let me know how the kid is doing. I don't know what advocate does.
May 21, 2021 12:45 am
OOC:
OOC thread made.
OOC:
To answer your question, we'll use the Investigate skill for this.
The girl does seem to understand what is going on as she is starting to tear up again.
May 21, 2021 1:35 am
Carlos kneels down in front of the girl.

Rayshel, do you know how to fund your father?
May 21, 2021 3:13 am
"Daddy is on Gadolinia. He put me on the transport and said that Mommy would be waiting for me."
OOC:
Gadolinia is 3 parsecs away.
May 21, 2021 4:33 am
Sylvia whispers over to Carlos. "How long is it going to take us to travel three parsecs? I was never good with math."
May 21, 2021 6:42 am
OOC:
Depends on your ship. A ship travels up to its Jump rating in parsecs per jump. Your current vessel has a Jump-1 drive, meaning that you move at a rate of 1 parsec per Jump. A Jump shunts the ship into hyperspace for a period of roughly one week. During this time, the ship is completely cut off from the universe outside. This is why most people spend the time in Jump engaged in training. At the end of the Jump, the ship shunts back into the real universe, usually unharmed (which is why you want a good astrogator among your crew).
