Aleksis walks back from the officers to conver with the rest of the team and with the girl. "It seems to me that the dad is a last resort option", he starts, explaining, "We don't know the reason for their estrangement, nor if the father has any intention or the means of taking care of the girl."

Then he bends down towards Rayshel, "Do you have a granny, aunt, or any friends where you could stay a while?"

Rayhsel shakes her head. "It's just Mommy and me. I was visiting Daddy."

Carlos will approach the cop that seems to be in charge.

Hi officer, I worked 12 years in the Military Police, so I know how to be careful. Can I go in and get a bag together for the girl? She will need clothes, maybe a couple of toys. Things are going to be rough for her.

If he agrees, I will try to investigate to see if I can get any idea what happened, while getting her stuff including a teddy bear if one is on the bed.

"You travelled alone from Daddy?", Aleksis asks with admiration in his voice, "You are a very brave girl."

Aleksis shifts his stance slightly and asks, "Did you like it with Daddy?", adding, "Would you like it if you would live there for longer?".

"Mommy's dead, isn't she?" she says in a very no-nonsense tone. Despite her tone, she is barely holding back tears.

The guard looks Carlos over. "Well, I'm not supposed to let anyone in, but... you're right. She's going to have a tough go at it. Go on in."

Carlos nods his head in thanks and enters the house. He will pack clothes and a few toys. If there seems to be a stuffed animal that is given a prominent place, he will take it. While in the house he will try to see if anything seems odd.

Carlos enters the home to find that the place has been ransacked. A pool of dried blood lies inside the foyer, with bloodied footsteps leading into the main living area. The main room is completely demolished; even the cushions have been cut open. The bedrooms are in similar disrepair, but you do manage to find a small doll, a stuffed alien of some kind.

Carlos squeezes the doll carefully. Just checking to see if it feels like anything is hidden in it.

Aleksis opens his arms to accept the hug. He will mirror Rayshels hug in intensity and length, allowing her to control the hug as she desires. He will be mostly silent during the hug except for some platitudes like a soft 'hey there'; words fail him and the situation.

When she releases he wil state, both to her and the group, "Let's return to the ship for some hot choco, and to discuss our options"

Sylvia spends the ride over to the space port in a melancholy silence. "I hope this brat is worth it," she mutters, keeping her eyes on the distant passing cityscape.

Well, the security personnel here isn't very helpful so I think we are the only ones who can help her. I'd say we maybe fill the cargo room with some goods that are on demand in Gadolinia and then we jump there. So we get both: a bit of profit and a good deed

"I don't have a problem going to Gadolinia", Aleksis begins, "And I agree, if we go there, we should be able to make a bit of profit. We could also try to arrange some passengers".

"I also wish to make some purchases here before we set out anywhere."

Ten he turns towards the little girl and kneels down to her eye level, "However, Rayshel, would you like to go back to your father?". With candor, he adds, "I don't have any alternatives than your father, but that is also because we haven't searched for them yet. What do you think?"

Aleksis nods in reply to the little girl and rubs her over her back in support. "Then Gadolinia sounds like a good goal, unless anyone has other ideas/objections?"

"And I agree with Sophia, let's make the trip worth while. I will try to find some passenger, for Gadolinia, or", Aleksis looks at his com for a moment before continuing, "Quiri, as that is our next hop. If anyone wants to help me that is welcome. Who is going to look for cargo to either Gadolinia or Quiri, and are there any other things the group or the ship needs?"

Anton nods his head in short, little strokes while rubbing the stubble on his chin with one hand. "Yep, sounds like we're going to Gadolinia. I'm afraid I won't be much help with finding cargo or passengers, though." He motions toward Rayshel with a slight turn of his head and adds, "But I can watch the kid while you're all tied up doing that."

Anton turns to face their newest passenger, and tries his best to muster a warm, friendly smile. "Hey Rayshel, have you ever seen the bridge of a starship before?"
