I may be some help. I have a little experience with trade goods, and have done a little brokering work.

As Anton takes Rayshel on a tour of the bridge, the others set out to find passengers and cargo.

Anyone trying to find passengers should roll against Carouse, Streetwise, or Broker. Roll three times (2d6), one each for middle, high, and low passengers. Add a DM of +1 for high passengers, +5 for middle passengers, and +6 for low passengers. Be sure to add your skill level in whichever of the three skills you wish to use.

Those of you looking for cargo, make a Broker or Streetwise check (remember that a skill can be rolled against at -3 if not possessed) twice; once for major cargo (a DM of +0) and once for incidental cargo (a DM of +2).

Finally, you can try to get a mail run. To try for the mail run, roll 2d6 and add a DM of +5. If the result is a 12 or higher, you can get a mail run.

Another option is to purchase goods and either trade or smuggle them, but that's considerably riskier. Trading goods can vary wildly in returns and smuggling... well...

It will take until the morning to load the ship and for most of your passengers to be ready, so everyone should settle in for the night. If there is nothing else that needs to be taken care of, we'll move on.

As you settle in for the night, all is quiet. Then, about 2 AM, you are rudely awakened by a voice from outside the ship. "We know that you have the child! Send her out alone and unarmed!" A look out the viewport reveals a gang of six people (four are human, two are vargr) armed with slug throwers, led by a black-haired woman who is doing the talking.

Sylvia takes one look out the view port. She narrows her eyes at the figures, tapping a finger on the glass. "Let's turn the ship's weapons on them." She crosses her arms. "This thing does have weapons?"

"It does not", Aleksis states with regret, "But I think we all agree that we will not give in to their demand?", he then asks without expecting an answer.

"While we can't simply wait them out and leave; we are still expecting passengers after all, and I'm not sure if all the cargo has been loaded", The former diplomat states matter-of-factly, "Is there any reason we can't contact port authorities and let them deal with the problem?"
