Alan, as you touch the altar, you don't get the same effect and Claudius, touching a second time doesn't seem to cause the vision to come back. Though as you've all spent some time around the stone, you do have a thought that it may move if you try to slide the altar along the floor.
Apr 4, 2022 5:35 am
Ahhh, right I must have confused you.
In the vision a hobgoblin were torturing a human until it gave away that someone is in Conyberry. He killed man right after.
At least's how I understand the vision. But the visions are - you know - abstract.
If that was the same vision the 4 clerics saw before they die. Most probably events of the past.
Useless... No, why would Savras give ME a new vision?

Claudius retrieves from his pocket "a piece of paper that looks like and old letter" why would ? he whispers and put the letter back.
OOC:
Just having fun about my background item a letter from a dead colleague posing a question you have not yet been able to answer
Lost in his reflections Claudius do not care to interact with altar at the moment.
Apr 4, 2022 6:10 am
If it does give in to movement Alan will attempt to push the Altar to the side.
Apr 5, 2022 1:41 am
Alan, you put a slight bit of weight into the push and find that it rolls pretty smoothly on carved stone rollers. It glides back about a meter revealing a small cavity under the altar with a small wooden chest inside. It seems undamaged and undisturbed. No dust clings to its surface, likely due to being covered for so long.

After a few moments you hear a rushing sound, like the wind has picked up outside.
Apr 5, 2022 6:17 am
Should this be considered sacrilege? If so should I return the altar?
Apr 5, 2022 9:08 am
Yes it should! Return it quickly Claudius says taking the chest out and put it into backpack. I would hate to leave it for orcs to sacrilege.
He would like to open chest and investigate it's content but not while inside the temple with death smell. He only want to take his hunting trap back and be out of here.
Apr 5, 2022 12:29 pm
You're able to remove the chest and close the altar without concern.

Once outside the temple in the fresh air, you open the chest with ease Claudius. Inside, there are 48 gold pieces, 54 silver pieces, and 360 copper pieces. As you move the coins about, you spot a heavy iron key. The head of the key has a question mark worked into the design.
OOC:
It's currently just past midday. Would you all like to do more investigations around the temple or are you heading further into the surrounding hills? If we don't have a group decision or RP discussion happening tomorrow at about this time, I'll push the group into the hills from there.
Apr 5, 2022 12:42 pm
i believe we overstayed our welcome, let's move. Alan keeps the money and stuff found on the plant monsters, he doesn't want anything to do with the chest.

I guess donations to the church. I would like return it to church of Savras, but a key... who knows maybe that is an omen we discovered it. Who could carry the chest?
Considering hunting traps Claudius wouldn't carry the chest with the money. He wouldn't be surprised and wouldn't mind if others would decide to own church money, but he will not take even a copper of that. He is however intrigued by key, though he would guess the entry doors before they got broken and restored used to open/close with the key.
OOC:
Conclusion: I am looking forward to move to the hills. I don't see Claudius investigating anything around the temple.

Assuming the coins that aren't claimed from the church coffers end up in Milaki's bag (if nowhere else), the group collects their things and sets off into the hills. You remember Radiza leading south into the hills and decided to follow much of the same path. Even though it's new terrain for Esal, he does a fair job guiding you through the hills, avoiding several areas of land that could be very dangerous to cover.

Over the next several hours you hike deeper into the hills until the sun starts to drop beyond the horizon to the west, casting long shadows as it falls. You find a safe place to camp for the evening and set a watch, getting you through the evening without issue. When you wake, a thin sheen of dew covers most surfaces outside your tents and the air has a bit of a nip to it. That said, the sky is clear and the sun bright.
OOC:

For these "exploration" times, if the group doesn't provide instruction I will have Esal act as the "leader" of the hike (given they have the best survival and bonuses to overland travel type work) and will generally have you attempting to go in the compass direction of whatever your last "clue" was. In this case, you are heading generally south.

If, as a group, you want to provide other guidance in regards to what you're doing, please feel free to post how else you're approaching the travel (so you have agency over where you go).

I've updated the map to show where you camped and the general trail you've followed so far.

At the breakfast (I assume we make one) Claudius: Milaki, are you doing well? We were all heated yesterday I believe. and he tries to cheer her up and try to concentrate on Orc business We are close today or maybe tomorrow we could meet Orcs, that when we will need all of your anger, save that anger for them.

Otherwise Claudius stay with his observer role and follow the team wondering around as if he is more interested in exploring the nature around than finding Orcs.
OOC:
may I remind he joined party, but didn't claim the share in payment. He is not eager to kill Orcs, but to see others doing that. But of course - when a battle will erupt as a player I will try my PC to participate in the fight most effectively he can

It was a hard day yesterday for Esal but he was pleased to have successfully led the group safely to the overnight camp and he slept well ,feeling he had contributed to the group's wellbeing. He awoke refreshed had his breakfast and then said "While you finish your breakfast I am just going to scout ahead to make nothing is lying in wait to ambush us. I should be back in about one hour then we should be ready to move on. " With that he left keeping a watch for any tracks that might indicate an enemy was near.

Mind hunting me a rabbit on the way? Alan eats the last of his real raw meat 🍖 and gives some bits to Chuckles🐦, that gobbles them up without second thoughts...I will need to hunt today or tomorrow, it's good that i found the plant-alternative.. he looks at his garlands, how are they holding up?

He turns to the man named Claudius Claudius, how are you holding up? Tell us if the travel is taking a toll on you, there's no shame in that, on the other hand active lifestyle in your age should be looked up to. He means it, remembering all the old and retired soldiers that often visited the barracks and training grounds to give pointers to the new ones, some didn't appreciate it, but those who did, tend to live longer...

Thanks for asking! This experience has already shown to be a challenge to the main more than the body, don't you think so? So tell me how is your mind keeping up? I could try to find some herbs for relaxing tea on next stop.

Nevertheless. It wouldn't be wrong if you could cary one of the damn heave hunting traps. Setting them up is super simple and if bet bloodthirsty orcs will miss them while attacking us

And he takes one hunting trap out of this backpack and propose Alan to take it

I would also let you know I have a talent to speak telephatically. and he demonstrate his skill sending : Should we need to be quiet while following orcs it may come in handy. I can't hear you though

I would have to agree, if not the fact that that i started this journey with two people that i could trust and now i am again on my own, this journey would be a breeze..... No, thanks herbs don't do me much good... I will gladly take a trap off of you, do you mind if I utilize it on the way?

After hearing about his talent Alans eyes slightly widen, Really? That's good!...My only talents are that i am able to survive on raw flesh and look way younger than i should be, though that comes with a downside, my diet is quite limited... Alan rinses his wax cloths with water and let's them dry, before packing them back into his bag.

I believe this is perfectly what we want you to do do now and are not providing instructions for exactly that reason :)

The group sets out from their camp after Esal returns from his short scouting mission, having found nothing of interest. As the group walks along through the pleasant (if windy) day, they have plenty of chances to talk and learn more about each other. Esal does spot a few rabbits during the travel, easily taking them with his bow. As the sun moves past the midday mark, you come across a ruined mineshaft entrance. It appears that the entry caved in years ago, with piles of rock and busted timbers covering the entrance. Milaki spends a few minutes inspecting it to make sure it's not a hidden entrance, but it looks to be exactly what it appears.

During the travels, you pass several little copses of trees. Some of them are very small, only a few dozen trees. Others are larger, taking several minutes to completely circle. You take the time to investigate them as you go, and find that they house several small animals (squirrels, rabbits, the occasional songbird nest) and a variety of herbs and plants.

About three hours later, as you continue to the south, you come across another larger copse of trees but as you start to check it out, you hear strange noises deep in the middle of it. It's a mix of crunching leaves, cracking sticks, and general grunting. You don't see anything from the edge of the treeline.

Would you all like to go investigate the sounds or continue on to the south?
OOC:
Sorry for the radio silence the last two days, have been getting ready for a family vacation this upcoming week. I'll still be posting while on vacation (just heading to a beach house for a week), but have been in the throes of laundry and packing.
Apr 9, 2022 4:45 pm
Alan doesn't really care about the sounds, though he doesn't mind a quick look if others are interested...
Apr 9, 2022 7:06 pm
"Maybe another animal, better not to disturb it and attack us. I remember one time I found a skunk, it did not end well..." says Milaki
Apr 9, 2022 9:33 pm
Claudius look at Alan and Milaki, shrugging his shoulders and continue his way
