Cheshire Cat like grin.

Rolls

Street Smart 4 - (1d6)

(6) = 6

May 19, 2022 2:40 pm
"No swan song for you." Tentacular continued to grip Black Swan tightly while the others interrogated.
May 19, 2022 7:57 pm
Hwraaaaa.......hwraaaaaa.......hrwa-CHOO!!

The feather trick works! In the Swan's convulsion a small electronic device clatters off his person. The comm is in hand!

But, Terminal is briefly distracted by MaCavity's grin, which looks less like a menace and more like "Hide Your Pain Harold". In the split second, the Black Swan nips at her hand! The comm falls back to the ground and buzzes softly.

"Black Swan do you copy? Check in, Black Swan! Emergency protocol will begin in five seconds....."
OOC:
Terminal you may either take 1 damage or roll the next 3 checks that require your hands with disadvantage.
May 20, 2022 1:45 am
OOC:
I'll just eat the damage.
Brigid yelps in pain, but picks up the comms and turns it on. She gives her best swan impression, pinching her nose to produce the best nasally echo she could. Not like people really knew how to tell one swan from another, she figured.

"Hwraaank."
OOC:
I'm not exactly sure what to roll for this, if at all.
May 20, 2022 2:51 pm
OOC:
I'm loving this Hot Fuzz vibe haha. Roll something of your choice to trick them. If you can justify it I don't care what.
May 21, 2022 12:47 am
OOC:
rollin'

Rolls

Extroverted - (1d4)

(1) = 1

May 21, 2022 2:26 am
OOC:
Oh.....oh no......
The woman's voice on the comm pauses briefly.

"Ox, the Swan hasn't replied. We have a breach."

Your captive chuckles.

"Hwrank."

(Your accent is just terrible.)
May 21, 2022 4:23 am
Brigid sighs as she tosses the comms away.

"Well, stealth's out of the question now. Let's just break in and get out as fast as we can."
May 22, 2022 2:43 pm
"I guess the bird's out of the cage." They couldn't just leave Black Swan, for that would just mean an enemy behind their backs. Tentacular gave Black Swan's neck a tight squeeze as his wrapped tentacle could manage, not enough to kill them but enough to asphyxiate them long enough to put them out of commission. "Let's go quick."
OOC:
Adding a roll if necessary. If not we can save it for a future roll.

Rolls

Power (Brute Force) - (1d6)

(2) = 2

May 22, 2022 3:37 pm
I don't like this at all ... crap had she sprouted a tail? she looked back quickly and sighed with relief
May 22, 2022 6:40 pm
Your captive wheezes like a baloon deflating and you rush the building. At least now you don't have to worry about finding strategic routes.

Right as you approach the staircase you're blasted with a flash of near-blinding light. You lose your footing - are those caltrops on the ground? Those are almost as bad as stepping on a Lego!
OOC:
Everyone please roll Fine Motor to resist tripping and injuring yourself, and a roll of your choice to resist the blinding light.
You hear the voice from the Black Swan's comm, this time before you. Those of you who shielded your eyes are able to make out a shock of red curls and a pristine lab coat. Quantum Gal stands with her back facing you, but she threatens you nonetheless, orbs of flame-like light swirling around her hands in anticipation.

"Don't make me use these."
May 22, 2022 10:23 pm
I think both would be fine motor as she tries to duck and roll, shielding her eyes

Rolls

fine motor 3 - (1d6)

(5) = 5

fine motor 3 - (1d6)

(3) = 3

May 22, 2022 11:35 pm
OOC:
Would the caltrops even hurt Brigid in her power suit?
Brigid falls, but manages to shield her eyes from the flash of light. Why is she facing away from us? Taking advantage of the situation, Brigid quietly scoops up a handful of caltrops from the floor, and flings them at Quantum Gal's exposed back.

Rolls

Fine motor (+), adv due to mech suit - (2d6H1)

(33) = 3

Resisting flash using street smarts - (1d4)

(2) = 2

Throwing caltrops, Fine motor - (1d6)

(1) = 1

May 24, 2022 2:01 am
"Hey don't you turn your back on us, girl, gal, grrl!" Tentacular had charged forward towards the staircase only to encounter both the caltrops on the ground and the potentially blinding orbs of Quantum Girl. His body instinctively went into nimble mode, sucker arms attaching themselves to the wall so as not to tread on the floor, twisting his head around to mimic Quantum Girl's position in case the orbs blew up in his face, all the while readying himself to swing forward towards her.
OOC:
Applying Habit: Flexible to avoid both the caltrops and the light obstacles.

Rolls

Fine Motor + Flexible Habit (Power 4) - (2d6)

(42) = 6

Heart + Flexible Habit (Problems 3) - (2d6)

(22) = 4

May 27, 2022 4:12 pm
OOC:
Good point, Terminal. I'll say you lose your footing but you're uninjured.

This is a placeholder to move the story along but prove the results of the rolls. Since I'm rolling for Dream and Khaki I won't allow shattered results.

Rolls

Riven, resist caltrops, brute, 3-, tactile habit - (2d6)

(55) = 10

Riven, resist blindness, street, 2- - (1d4)

(4) = 4

ElectroLite, resist caltrops, no sheet, roll even - (1d4)

(1) = 1

ElectroLite, resist blindness, no sheet, roll odd - (1d4)

(1) = 1

Black Swan, "thwack", hit and damage - (2d4)

(11) = 2

May 27, 2022 4:17 pm
Tentacular leaps into the air, clinging to the walls in a strange yet surprisingly defensive posture, even managing to avoid smacking the Black Swan against the wall. MaCavity's catlike reflexes save her the trouble of the attack as well.

But when ElectroLite tries to attract the caltrops out of the way as you run, he's surprised to realize these aren't metal. Light has the correct kind of signature, but it's not what he planned for. As a result, he trips and falls to the ground, barely managing to avoid injury as the light blinds him. Riven has a similar problem when she attempts to use her telekinesis on the trap.

Terminal slides on the tripping hazards but is able to use her momentum to shield her eyes and scoop up some of the tiny objects. They're light, and warm, and sharp. The unexpected feeling of the caltrops means she mis-judges her throw and they clatter around Quantum Gal's feet.

Rolls

QG Attack with power advantage, fine motor 3+ - (2d6)

(15) = 6

May 27, 2022 4:19 pm
"Sorry, but I can't let you pass!" the woman yells. She rolls her wrists and sends the balls of light spiraling through the hallway.

Rolls

damage if applicable, energy beam x2 - (2d6)

(12) = 3

Riven Resist, disadvantage for blindness, 3- - (2d6)

(42) = 6

ElectroLite Resist, disadvantage for blindness, odd - (2d4)

(32) = 5

May 27, 2022 4:22 pm
OOC:
Please roll a Power of your choice to dodge or muscle through the attack. If you fail, please take 3 damage.
Riven and ElectroLite are stunned by the attack. It sears, almost like an entire sunburn has run its course all at once.

"Please leave!" Quantum Gal's voice calls with a quiver. "The Ox isn't as gentle as I am!"

She has yet to turn to face you. Something in her posture shows she's calculating her next move very carefully.
OOC:
If you aren't knocked out by damage, have at it!!
May 28, 2022 1:33 am
Attempts to dodge
EDIT
and fails.
Unconscious.

Rolls

fine motor 3 - (1d6)

(2) = 2

May 28, 2022 1:33 am
"Gentle my ass!"

Brigid charges at Quantum Gal, armored shoulder poised like the tip of a battering ram. She doesn't have the time to try and figure out the nuances of this super's powers. Hopefully the tackle will knock Quantum Gal away long enough so that the team can move past her quickly.
OOC:
Can you confirm that we all started with the correct health values? Because 2d6 damage (avg. of 7) seems really, really high.

By the way, can you add more than one Habit to a roll? Both of Brigid's apply here.
