1: The Light of No Tomorrow

"GO!" Malchor shouted with a flick of his wrists. Just as Sheila pulled up her hood and disappeared, the six of you are engulfed in a blue energy haze which dissipated to show you've been teleported into the orc fort! The two orc soldiers, Commander One-Hand, and the human mage are surprised but won't be for long!

OOC:
ROLL INITIATIVE!
Since the bad guys are surprised, you all can act first.
I've used your base init scores so far and will update once you roll.
Is that placement OK? Also make sure your stats above are correct.
Use the grid coordinates to indicate which bad guy you're going for.
The 1 next on Sheila's pic indicates there's an effect active on her, in this case her being invisible.

Would you mind swapping me with Diana?

Hank felt the familiar thrum of his bow as he placed his fingers in that magic spot to activate it. He could hear the bow's own voice speak within the glow of the energy arrow building, and he was ready to let fly the moment the teleport ended.

Is the grid five foot squares? I don't want to assume.
Apr 30, 2022 12:33 am
OOC:
Yup. 5 feet. I have some of you occupying space with walls but that can't be helped. :P

OOC:
As long as it doesn't indicate some sort of nasty teleport accident.
"Remember everyone, stay close to me and the shield so I can protect you better."
OOC:
Everyone friendly to Eric (and the rest of you too) gets a +5 bonus on saving throws and resistance to damage from spells as long as they're within ten feet of me. I'm also going to use my reaction to impose disadvantage on a melee attack made against Bobby, Hank or Presto, whichever occurs first.

Sheila seeks to get a good look at Lorne and Varla to ascertain they are indeed the real Lorne and Varla.
OOC:
She will slip through her companions if she can.

Sheila slipped past her friends and to Varla's side. Both she and Lorne are unconscious, and they're definitely Varla and Lorne.
OOC:
Sheila's now at D5. I'll update the map once I get the rest of your actions for this surprise round.

Presto can’t help but feel exposed as soon as the group pops into place in the fort. He feels the familiar whoosh of displaced high pressure air pushing away from him and his mind savors his last moment of peace before chaos erupts in every direction. He starts considering moves and counter-moves, weak spots and possible strengths in their position. And, as much as he still feels some rivalry with Eric, the safest place for now is near his Cavalier.
OOC:
Don’t forget the fiery elemental is around here somewhere. Hopefully not on top of anyone, we don’t want to start fires too quickly after all!
OOC:
Presto’s saves should be -1/+2/+9/+11/+7/+0

Are we going in order of initiative or just describing our actions to you and you play them out?
Apr 30, 2022 3:20 am
OOC:
Free order for the surprise round. First come, first served. No need to make people wait for others to roll init.
...and the space in the room is veeeery limited. A fire elemental is large, right?

OOC:
Yeah, I didn’t think about that. I guess he can go down to the south, but he’d essentially be on top of that bad guy. I thought he had a fly speed, but I was wrong. Fortunately his stat block says he can fit through pretty much anything bigger than an inch wide, so he’ll be able to move around, but there’s going to be an awful lot of fire.

You kinda have line of sight to the venom trolls outside. You can conjure the fire elemental between them.

As he and his friends materialize Bobby lets loose with a primal ROAR! Then he starts pounding on the mage with reckless abandon.

Two crits!

Does the radiant damage also get extra dice on a crit? How does that interact with Brutal Critical (which gives me 3 extra damage dice rather than two)?

Everyone's attack rolls against the mage now have advantage until the start of Bobby's next turn.
