The wolf runs up and harries the porter, giving him a hard time as its fangs close around the man’s padded armor.

Meanwhile, Grom realizes that the mist envelopes the whole area. Making it hard to make out details within and details outside.

Atticus runs forward and knocks the green porter on his ass. Drawing his sword he utters: "Yield!"

Meanwhile the yellow porter crawls on his hands and knees out of the slick surface and the fog and gets back up and slashes at Koram with his cargo hook. "You will not make me look like a fool!" he sneers, though in his anger he stumbles and almost tumbles back on his ass.

As Haitih knocks the last porter to the ground, you can hear Ardissa yelling something in her strange language before dismissing the cloud of mist. She holds her hands up and she motions for the porters to lay down their weapon as well. A few more words escape her mouth, and while you cannot understand her, the meaning is clear from her anger and the porters' reaction.

"Lady Pendergast wants to apologize for our behavior," one of them says through gritted teeth, obviously embarassed to get a talking to by Ardissa.
OOC:
The three porters will hold their action, depending on what you do. Will you lay down your arms? It's your turn to act.
Apr 18, 2023 8:10 pm
Koram and Haitith take a few steps back and Koram continues to hold his hands out - empty - showing no weapon. Haitith yawns.
Apr 18, 2023 8:17 pm
Grom-frog disappears, and in it's stead the druid re-apperars holidng his hand out to Fenris, his wolf companion, to stay his lupine rage
Apr 18, 2023 9:31 pm
Igbork slowly unsheathes his shortsword, lays it down into the grass behind him and makes a few steps away from it while raising both hands up to his chest.
He smiles as wide as he can, not because he finds the situation funny or enjoyable but to defuse tensions.
Yes we had a bit of a misunderstanding I think. We accept your apology and apologize in return if we scared you. I think it's good that no one got seriously hurt.
He turns to the others
Do we have any more business to conduct here? If not I'd suggest we go back to the others...

As long as you do not show any hostility, the group lets you go in peace. And eventually you find yourself back down the mountain. On the way back to the following you hear someone calling out for help.

Going closer to explore what's going on, you see a halfling suspended in the air, caught in a net hanging from a tree.
OOC:
@WhtKnt Feel free to introduce your character.
Apr 19, 2023 8:15 pm
"Oh, hullo," the halfling squeaks . "Would it be a terrible inconvenience for you to get me down?" she asks. She stands about 3 feet tall and has brown hair and brown eyes. She wears a sensible adventuring outfit consisting of midnight blue linen pants and a white linen shirt under a deep green traveler's cloak. An odd symbol, that of a face in what appears to be a nimbus, adorns her neck.

Igbork furrows his eyebrows, looking left and right. After he made sure that this was not some kind of elaborate ambush he approaches the tree.
He looks at the symbol on the halfling's neck. He doesn't think he can recognize it.
I think we could help you. One moment Igbork climbs up the tree.
Koram, Grom. I'd be ready to cut the net. Are you ready to catch her?

Acrobatics - Climbing up the tree - (1d20+8)

(15) + 8 = 23

"Of course," Koram says with a nod. He positions himself to help catch the halfling.

"Are you okay up there? How'd this happen?"
OOC:
That IS weird, WhtKnt. I also don't see your name/character in the characters section at the bottom of this page when I pull it up, but the game details sections shows you have a character submitted. Maybe Furmyr still needs to hit the 'approve' button on your character? Bizarre.
Apr 20, 2023 3:15 am
"I was walking along, minding my own business, and the next thing I know, I'm suspended off the ground! I think I'm otherwise alright."
Apr 20, 2023 8:49 am
OOC:
Yup, all my fault. But I approved you now :)

And Igbork, you would roll Religion which you have a +8 modifier for. So you would get a 21. Enough to recognize the symbol as Pulura, the mistress of the stars and the aurora. Pulura is an angel empyreal lord, the patron of those travellers that become homesick, lost, or injured in the snowy wastes of the far north.

"Good, good," Koram says, "I'm Koram by the way." He gestures to the electric, blue dragon nearby. "That's Haitith. What's your name? Where you from? We're sort of in the middle of nowhere here."
Apr 22, 2023 8:27 pm
"My name is Artesia. I was part of a trade caravan heading to Tian Xia across the Crown of the World. During a blinding blizzard, I became separated from my company and I've been wandering ever since. I figured to head south, for warmer climes, and I guess I found my way here."
