Session 1

Marcos catches the dagger.

"HA! Very well indeed. Now how about you hold your hands where i can see them, fool!" he says to the jailer.

"Unless you want to be skewered like the pig you are."

He motions for the jailer to get in the cell.

The first surprise volley of crossbow fire impacts the group of five marines on the enemy ship’s deck. One marine is struck in the head and killed instantly. Two more are also hit and fall to the deck doubled over in pain, unable to carry on the fight. The last two drop their weapons and run, desperately searching for a place to hide until the battle ends and they can safely surrender.

Elwood is heartened by this sight and yells out exuberantly to the crew. "Excellent shooting boys! We've got them now!"

Marcos was expecting jailor to lunge at him. He was waiting for it--watching for it. Incoming... he thinks to himself as he attempts to lunge out of the way!

Due to the cramped confines, the jailer's lunge is ineffective and Marcos is able to dodge to the side.

As the jailer flies past, Marcos gives him a kick in the butt sending him sprawling in to the cell. "In you go you fiend!"

He slams the iron gate closed on his dazed opponent then goes to help Seraphine finish freeing herself from her bonds.

"Ha! Now we have a fight!" Darrok shouts excitedly as he parry's the head toady's slash.

Bailin allows a devil may care grin to appear, as he watches the marine slash his sword at him. Bringing his own blade up he simply moves his wrist to casually block the attack.

"Thanks," Seraphine says as she accepts her cell-mate's help, "Sorry if I thought you were selling me out there."

"Hey, I had some stuff with me. Can you see it anywhere around here?"

"Another volley like that and it's over!" Elwood calls out to the other crossbowmen. He finishes reloading his own bow and takes aim at the group of marines on the gangplank. His eye is caught for a moment by Bailin gleefully crossing swords with these men, clearly outclassing them. "Shoot carefully now." he adds before pulling his own trigger.

Marcos nods in acknowledgement to Seraphine's remark. "I'd have thought the same."

In answer to her request he hustles over to some barrels and crates tucked against the bulkhead. He starts prying lids off.

"Any idea who could be attacking," he asks her.

"I'd hate to end back in irons."

"You know what they say about the enemy of my enemy... let's hope they see it that way too."

"I've just spent the last day face down in a tiny cell. Whoever they are they have to be better than this guy, so let's go introduce ourselves."

She shoots a look of venom at her captor. Her height only barely brings her head to the same level as the big scarred mans chest.

"I should... do so many painful things to you, but, right now, your lucky I'm in a bit of a rush"

She barges through the door onto the deck and surveys the melee. Holding one of the lightning crystals in her hands she makes a few mystical signs.

CRAAAACK!

The loud sound of thunder breaks the air as a bolt of lightning shoots from her hands towards the marines.

Right on Seraphine's heels, Marcos near smashes in to her as she casts her spell. He throws his hand up to cover his eyes from the flash.

"Warning!" he snarls, ears ringing from the crack.

But he surveys the deck getting a gage on the situation.
