Barley shoots another psychic blast at the beast for good measure.

Then, he plants his leg against the post and helps his new Drawven friend pull at the chains.

"Word of advice, if you ever run across a trickster named Flit. Don't believe a word she says."

Then muttering to himself Barley adds, "Nice little old lady in the woods will provide you with a warm bed for night, my right foot!"

Then to Rhidon he says, "I'm Barley by the way."

The three of you manage to wrench Barley's chain off the spike as Krogan throws a chair and kicks over the table at the alligator.

The beast in return roars and charges maw gaping to grab Elira. Luckily the dwarf manages to avoid being grabbed.

Rhidon rushes back putting himself between the gator and Elira, You'll have to come through me first you brute.

He then tries another kick, while commenting back to Barley: The name's Rhidon. Flit's not so bad, just having some fun. She actually led us here.

He throws out his hand and sends two more waves of psychic force at the beast's head.

Krogan puppies up at this time We best hurry before the cringe returns and helps Elira in grabbing things before heading out of the hut with her

Rhidon approaches Elira and shows her the necklace given to him by her mother. Here, I think you should hold onto this for now and places it into her hand.

You're both right, we should make haste. Flit won't keep the Crone away for much longer.

Looking at Barley specifically These woods are no where to travel alone. Come with us, at least until we get Elira home.

Rhidon guides you as best he can only to realize that he let Flit lead them to the crone and the swamp has many false paths and hidden ways and getting out may be harder than getting in was.
I want both of you to propose some means that will help you get out of the swamps. Include a Test with an applicable skill or Save vs being lost. You can control the NPC for this as well

Barley looks at the choked twisting paths and reaches out with his spirit, hoping to catch a glimpse of trickster magic.

@Psybermagi I would like to use my Spiritual trait to detect magic on this area. Maybe I can get a bead on the tricksters and we use that to at least get there.
Hopefully someone will remember well enough how to get out if we can find there area.

FYI : Out of combat I trat all tests where you are not under pressure or in a hurr as focused so anything above a 3 is a pass.
Barley can feel a strange mental force that permeates the swamp. It leads the mind away from noticing things and confuses the sense of direction.. In addition there is some kind of magic on the path itself. Two actually. One seems to promote plant growth while the other has a sort of suction effect leading only down the path to the hags home.

Rhidon looks around a bit lost, and noticing the Dwarven girl doing the same asks, Elira, are there any local legends or stories about travellers getting lost in these woods? He thinks back to the stories exchanged over this last trade mission to see if anything reminds him.

@Psybermagi I figure Rhidon is the sort who tries to be friendly and exchange stories during his trade dealings.
Seeing Barley's actions, he approaches and takes out his Arcane Amulet to see how it reacts to the area.

I'm thinking if the magic from one of the paths glows differently than the other, we could possibly use the amulet to guide us back without requiring Barley to exert himself the whole way

Between the two of you a story of fey trickster comes to mind where one way paths can be defeated by walking backwards. You experiment a bit any come up with Rhidon, Krogan, and Barely take turns carrying Elira who gave backward while carried. She tells you when your wander off the enchanted path that lead to the hut. Using this method you leave the swamp before sunrise and make your way back to town. Elira and hey mother have a heartwarming reunion. After that talk a while the woman asks the three what they wild like as a reward for helping save her daughter.

I can only speak for Krogan and myself in saying that no reward is needed.... Rhidon pauses to smile warmly, and continues but if you should come across any rare goods, consider letting our house get a crack at the first offer.

Shaking the mother's hand, Rhidon takes a moment to recognize Barley's actions. Truth be told, I'm not sure we would've made it back in one piece if it weren't for Barley here.

Hi! Question...Is it 2d6 with focus what we roll for watches while we sleep?

I see there isn't long rest or short rest, just 1 hour = 1 health.

Also, I'm guessing we don't track rations since it just says rations?

The lady takes you oput to diner and pays for your lodging for the night. As you sit around the lady tels some local legends and well as the new she is aware of. Merchants are often the source of new spreading across the land and she has a few interesting points. The Expedition, a cooporative effort between many factions has opened access to a city from the Dawn age and new that portions of it survived the Shattering has brough a stream of adventurers, in and out of it. This seems to have sparked an increase of hostilities as other factions learned of Paphos, the lost city, and moved in to take their share of the prize. Orcs, goblins, hobgobins, lizardmen, and kobolds all have been seen inincreasing numbers. Luckily the city is down river to the west but the conflict between the various vations has spilled beyond it area and is causing tension here at the edge of the dwarven Nation.

I dpon't require players to track items and you can adjust your pack to hold minor mislanious items if you want. There are some shops with sample prices in the ~Tiny Info~ sheet. I try to keep it vaguely realistic and hand wave anoying minutia that is not critical to the story.

1 hour rest for +1 HP, other than that you have 1 nights rest. The system realy works to keep it intersting but simple. There are added levels of complexity but I am not using most in this game.

With that said you guys finished your basic intro and can add another trait or gain weapon mastery, including in a Martial Arts attack. Mastery can not be applied to magic or psionic but you can enhance it's function with a prestige class. Let meknow if you have any questions about how you wish your chracter to progress.
