I learned more about the advanced options for GP and learned how to implement the rules where you get a check or x next to your roll if you put AC## in the reason (with ## being the value, like AC15). I can use this for when monsters attack, but for you all to use it you need to know the monster's defences.

Do you want me to make the monsters AC/PD/MD known to you all from the start?

You guys can still do a bit of roleplay, but seeing as you all finished the mini adventure in the book, I wanted to give you all a heads up on what is happening next.

First, I will take a break until December 26th starting tomorrow. Second, I will send out a Google handout so I can get anonymous feedback from everyone. Third, we will have a session zero about what we would like the rest of the campaign to be about. Lastly, if anyone wants to drop out of the campaign for any reason, now is an ok time to do it.

I don't know how long I will give RAAMtentacles to see if he still wants to play. December is a busy month for lots of people, but I didn't hear anything ahead of time about anything, which I appreciate a heads up. Probably going to wait until at least a few days after New Year

RAAM's went absent recently from one of my other games too. They've been pretty consistent in the past though, so I hope it's nothing too serious going on.

I am giving RAAMtentacles until Jan 3rd end of day eastern standard time to say if he still wants to play. Assuming we doesn't reply, what would you prefer, since you would be down to 3 players?

I'm happy to continue with 3, but the advantage of recruiting a couple more players is that we have more immunity to attrition. Having run a few gamers on this site, my experience is that 5 is a nice number since you can weather the inevitable drop-outs that occur in this format.

The majority says 4 players. At this time, we don't know if RAAMtentacles will return. I set a deadline for January 3rd. If I don't hear by then, i'll remove to make room for another player. if he does return, we have 4. If he doesn't, we'd have 3.

Should I go ahead and look for 1 player, and if RAAMtentacles comes back we'll make him player 5, or should I wait to see if he will return and then look if he doesn't?

Got a new player. Waiting for them to accept the invitation. I'll have them introduce themselves and you guys can talk about how to connect them with your characters while I work on them with their character

Hey, I think almost everyone here knows me already, but I have been waiting to actually PLAY in a 13A game instead of GMing all the time for quite a while, so thanks for the invite. Not sure from the list what all classes we have or where I'm allowed to pull from. I'd really love to run a melee necromancer, but if that's too far out there I am willing to cover whatever we need.

Welcome, Falconloft. I'm running this system for the first time, so I'm limiting it to just the core rulebook. I think I put that somewhere, either on the LFP or the games details. That won't be a problem, will it?

As far as classes so far, there is a paladin, barbarian, and rogue. There's also a cleric, but I may remove him as he has been unresponsive for weeks. His deadline is the 3rd.

Welcome, Falconloft! Nice to have you aboard. I'm relatively new to the system, but my impression is that we're currently lacking in ranged fighting and support (magic, heals, etc.). My paladin can cover some of the healing, but I haven't been spec'ing her that way intentionally. But, again, I'm new to this system, so it may be one of those that doesn't necessarily penalize you for having a bunch of overlap in party roles.

Out of combat healing is easy enough, it's just that rare time when mid combat healing is needed that it might be useful, from what I can read

In my other games I sort of feel like healing is a waste of time; it's hard to heal as much as you can damage. That being said, I can probably manage to make a healer fun.

Don't mind the core rulebook, I just saw a link to the SRD and the SRD has way more than the core book there so I wasn't sure.

You don't need to play a healer if you don't want. Players should get plenty of opportunities to get potions of healing, and everyone has a minimum of 8 recoveries to use across 3-5 encounters. Healers are mainly useful in that they can give free recoveries, meaning you are less likely to run out

You can also play a bard or ranger and get a little bit of healing through their ability to take cleric spells with talents

So later today I will be removing RAAMtentacles from the game for inactivity. In the vote before Falconloft joined, I asked how many players the party wanted, and there were more votes for 4 than 5 so I will keep it at 4 unless someone wants to try and convince the others that we should get 1 more player to have 5

I'm good with 4. The only advantage 5 offers is more insurance in case someone else drops out or goes inactive, so that's up to you.

I don't think anyone here ha a record for dropping out. I might be a little slow occasionally as things happen randomly like last night when my bathroom heater tried to set fire to my ceiling, but I won't drop. So 4 is probably fine. Up to you.
