Despite his seeming nervous misgivings, Lieutenant Ah cautiously - his tone serious as he warned against what they could find - tapped the commands on his tricorder to begin the power transfer. As the station slowly began to power up the symbols around the chamber began to glow. The Away Team quickly began a quick discussion on how best to proceed - despite the clear perception that to activate any systems on the station would require someone to interact with the strange, alien engravings - before Drake took it upon his self to be the 'guinea pig'.
Cole's eyes widened in surprise and he moved to intercept the younger man but he was too late. The Ensign's body became rigid, a distant focus to his eyes, before after some time a strange apparition appeared. Jumping back with a start, Cole nearly drew his phaser before realizing Drake must have some how triggered it's appearance. Silently it stood, the room quiet for what seemed a considerable amount of time before the young security officer spoke, confirming the way home lay with the apparatus that the 'other' team was investigating. Alarmed, Luna raced off, seemingly worried that they would be stranded here in this reality as the other team made their way home before the interface confirmed through Drake that it would reamin operational as long as it had power to do so.
Aurin then made a sensible suggestion that Cole could not help but wholeheartedly agree.
"Drake," he said, wondering if the Ensign could hear him,
"Disengage if you can. I think it's time we rendevous with the other team and decide our next course of action."
Eyes focused through narrowed lids on the young officer, he tilted his head to address the doctor,
"Doc. If he doesn't come out of it soon, stick around and make sure he checks out. If he doesn't disengage let me know ASAP." Meeting the rest of his teams' eyes he nodded towards the door, indicating that they should move out. With a final worried glance at his Ensign he made to follow his crew to the apparatus room.
OOC:
My most sincere apologies for ghosting the past few weeks. Work has been a bear, evenings haven't been much better, and there was a family vacation thrown in there.
