Also, Spell books don't seem to have rules regarding weight/slots. Any thoughts? Seems like one slot to me.

OSE seems to echo the older editions very well, right down to its over-complications of certain things lol.
I saw we have an acrobat, fighter, cleric, ranger and magic user. Is there anything significant/essential missing or is the party balanced enough that I can go with whatever?

Meet Sir Norris the Knight, and Delfarious the Illusionist!
A handsome, well-built, high-born man with rich brown hair and a well-groomed beard. Norris is the fifth son of a lowly lord, and was cast out to make his own fame and fortune after dallying with one too many milkmaids, serving girls, lord's wives, bishop's daughters and formerly celibate priestesses. Now, here on the frontier, he's out of money, time, and luck. Nothing remains but to try his hand at making his fortune in the Borderlands...
A rotund, portly man in his thirties, Delfarious is bald, fat, and often sour-faced even when a rare good mood strikes him. He's prone to drama, bouts of overconfidence, and thinking he understands things others do not. He wears rich purple robes covered in arcane symbols, and would very much like a tall wizard hat.
Delfar has come to the Bordlerlands seeking the ancient spells and magics that are said to lie deep underground there...
Darlene is a half-elf ranger/druidess who has come to the Borderlands seeking to prove herself worthy of her elven heritage. She is well-muscled and in good shape, but not overly bright. She loves animals and they love her. She favors darker colors, to better blend into natural surroundings.
Natassia Lightfoot is a human female specialized in resource acquisitions. She is multitaleted and attractive but lacking somewhat in wit and mental acuity. Still, she is well-meaning and tries to do the right thing... mostly. She has come to the Borderlands to escape the reaches of the thieves' guild in the larger city from which she hails. She was caught freelancing and they ran her out of town. She prefers black and keeps her waist-length black hair (her pride and joy) in a tight braid.
Eltrezar is a tall, wizened man with a long white beard. He carries himself with a sense of confidence and, let's be honest, ego. He has come to the Borderlands in search of a good cask of wine and an untapped land of magical secrets. He wears purple AND has a tall wizard's hat!
Kraagor is a dwarf.
PC 2 I'll be swapping two scores around. PC 1 though... Woof... I think I'll reroll that. Cuz, wow...
Much better! Now then...
PC 1 should look more like:
Old- Str: 8 Int: 14 Wis: 12 Dex: 8 Con: 14 Cha: 9
New- Str: 8 int: 8 Wis: 12 Dex: 14 Con: 14 Cha: 9
PC 2:
Old- Str: 16 Int: 13 Wis: 7 Dex: 15 Con: 8 Cha: 12
New- Str: 13 Int: 16 Wis: 7 Dex: 15 Con: 8 Cha: 12
I'm thinking thief and magic user for them, but I'm open to swapping things up if we need a more even spread ^^
