I just noticed that Darlene does not meet the minimum Cha for a half-elf (9). May I lose two points of Con to raise Cha by 1? If this is not permissible, I will have to change her race to elf.
Unfortunately no, but if you want a half-elf I see you can swap one of the 12s for Cha and still have a high Prime in Wis. Or you can make her an elf.
Okay, I'll swap up Int for Cha.

To clarify, does this mean a week of rations takes up most of a backpack?

Also, Spell books don't seem to have rules regarding weight/slots. Any thoughts? Seems like one slot to me.

3 items can be bundled together, so 7 days’ rations seem to occupy 2 and one-third slots in the backpack.
OSE seems to echo the older editions very well, right down to its over-complications of certain things lol.

Okay, both characters are adjusted and equipped. Both have spent all of their available cash.

Carl the Cleric and Fred the Fighter have been kindly submitted.

I just need to annotate storage. Eltrezar once again has his trusty steed, Isolde the Mule.

Hi, sorry... I've been somewhat busy and on the road the last few days and couldn't focus on building a character yet. I'll take care of it tomorrow.
I saw we have an acrobat, fighter, cleric, ranger and magic user. Is there anything significant/essential missing or is the party balanced enough that I can go with whatever?

Since we're each making two characters, we can balance the parties after we've made characters! You should see what the dice inspire in you!!!

Sorry if this is a little overly-complicated lol, but I think strict encumbrance rules are important in a game where how much you can carry is fundamentally linked to how fast you level. Even the old B/X rules say it's optional, but I would make it mandatory if I was working at TSR back then.

Yes, let's go with a slot. I think it's an important enough item to warrant its own.

Delfarious will have that hat!

And he can take it off Eltrezar's cold, dead body! But he's a survivor. Just ask Gilly (KCC)

I am going to enjoy coveting -- and taking -- your hat.

Okay, let's roll the bones!
PC 2 I'll be swapping two scores around. PC 1 though... Woof... I think I'll reroll that. Cuz, wow...
Much better! Now then...

PC 1 should look more like:
Old- Str: 8 Int: 14 Wis: 12 Dex: 8 Con: 14 Cha: 9
New- Str: 8 int: 8 Wis: 12 Dex: 14 Con: 14 Cha: 9

PC 2:
Old- Str: 16 Int: 13 Wis: 7 Dex: 15 Con: 8 Cha: 12
New- Str: 13 Int: 16 Wis: 7 Dex: 15 Con: 8 Cha: 12
I'm thinking thief and magic user for them, but I'm open to swapping things up if we need a more even spread ^^

So, ummm ... can I roll 6x 3d6 at the same time, or do I need to add 6 seperate rolls?
Sorry for the newbie question
Mar 19, 2024 6:11 am
No problem! You can roll a bunch of dice at once by separating the rolls with commas, like this:

EDIT: Lmao, accidentally added my example. Guess that's the first retainer? lol.

Rolls

St, Int, Wis, Dex, Con, Cha - (3d6, 3d6, 3d6, 3d6, 3d6, 3d6)

3d6 : (163) = 10

3d6 : (564) = 15

3d6 : (222) = 6

3d6 : (161) = 8

3d6 : (252) = 9

3d6 : (426) = 12
