You proceed through the mists in the direction from whence the noise came. You travel forward for about 200 yards at which point the sizeable town square ends and a number of small alleyways and side streets branch off from it. The widest street lies directly in front of you.
As you proceed into the street, the overhanging balconies of the businesses and residences on either side lean over imposingly, and you imagine that the residents of the buildings could almost touch each other across the teetering narrow gap.
The mist doesn't see to be so thick here, perhaps unable to penetrate because of the high sided buildings.
The sound of yelling and struggling causes your eyes to drift back to the street and the scene before you sets your hair on end.
Two Brumelurks shuffle up the alleyway towards you, menace in their eyes. More incredibly, behind them lurks a large moth like humanoid, around 6 feet tall and built to last. Even more incredibly there is a man behind the Brumelurks, but in front of the Mothman who is in a life or death struggle with the winged humanoid. With astonishment you recognise Myrneth, the crazy old man from the Inn, who appears to be battling the Mothman to try and reach an unconscious female child, yards behind the Mothman but tantalisingly out of reach.
