Bill will take a harder look at other possible hiding places in the room. If he was willing to stuff this in his mattress he might be more clever at stashing other clues.

Bill spends a little longer digging around with the benefit of daylight but finds nothing else. He and Chuck make a quick exit before the old man gets back.

Clive looks at his watch. Wow...time has gone by fast. I better get to the library. he says and makes his way there to help with the preparations.

"Did you find what you needed?" Chuck preps the motorcycle and straps his helmet on. "This is my first year here. Didn't think going back to school would be this crazy."

2pm

Chuck, Mathis, Clive, and Bill are all back in the library. Mathis is studying hard but not finding much. He's also drawn up a proposed plan for the defence of the Library.

Jon woke up at some point and stumbled off to his dorm to sleep some more.

Mathis will show everyone his defensive plan. It requires us to split into equal sized groups, with a spotter and a fight on each floor. The stairs have tables with large stacks of books on them that can be used to throw or push down the stairs. Once the entry point is determined we will all work our way to them. Our greatest ally will be surprise, followed by stealth, and then all out ferocity.

These "People" are coming here to destroy this library and kill anyone standing in their way. Remember that. Take them out with extreme prejudice, as they will kill you or kidnap and experiment on you if you don't. If we can take out enough of them to gain the upper hand in numbers, then we can capture the last one and maybe get some answers.

Chuck pulls his shotgun discretely from his bag enough to load it, then slides it back out of sight.

"Death by a thousand paper cuts."
Mar 7, 2017 4:05 pm
Bill loads his pistol, dropping rounds onto the floor and nervously wiggling them into the cylinder. "Pure insanity."

He remembers the letter and shows the rest. "This was burried in the mattress"

The actual prep of the library will have to wait til after closing time. Mathis has the trust of the Professor so he will be allowed to lock up as the other staff leave at 5pm. After that time, only the two security guards will be on duty.

Bill hands Mathis the hand written journal belonging to Daphne Devine. Mathis flips through it and reads that Devine submitted her journal to Professor Harrold in the hope that she and her colleagues could be sent back to Cobb's Corners, allowing them to collect more data and possibly physical evidence of strange creatures said to be living in the mountains. It begins by outlining the successes the group has had to date, explaining how Cobb's Corners locale is rife with local legends. Next she details her plans for re-interviewing a local man named Jethro Cratchett in the hope to obtain his grandfather's diaries, as they contain a wealth of folktales he collected when working as a travelling salesman. Finally the bulk of the journal is composed of local legends that the group was able to gather.
