Hello, I've just registered in the side and started fiddling around, but forgot to introduce myself!

I've been into RPGs since I was a teenager, but departure with the friends I used to play forced me to go look for a place to scratch that niche elsewhere. I've been playing on voice chats and latterly playing MUDs; I would say that writing is quite more pleasurable for me than talking (and I'm better at it, anyways), yet it being a bit hard for me, as English is not my first language.

When it come to RPGs and storytelling in general, I prefer fantastical settings over the mundane, which doesn't interest me very much. I played a lot of DnD, but am not into it currently, I prefer lighter systems which let me modulate them for whatever I would like to do; I don't despise mechanical crunch in a game, but I prefer when it is subordinate to the story.

About themes and tone, I prefer lighthearted and carnivalesque stories, comedies in the Aristotelian sense. Though the epic also attracts me a lot. This preference leads me to aesthetically enjoy stuff related to fairy tales, epic poetry, medieval and early modern literature, and anime & manga (mostly ones made untill 2010s, the older the better, it seems to me).

Well, I hope you all be good.

Edit: forgot to say that I enjoy mostly GMing, and it is the thing I expect to do the most in the site.

Welcome Aboard!

There are quite a few multi-lingual players on GamersPlane so don't feel self-conscious about it. There are even a few games on here run in languages other than English.

Welcome to the group! Happy to hear we're going to have another GM, we could always use more of those. ;) I'm a new GM on the site here myself, and I'm finding the tools they have here to really be quite unique and awesome. There's a help channel on our discord too that's very responsive and can walk you through things if you're getting stuck.

What systems are you going to run?

Well, I haven't done any grand plans yet, but as for the systems I'm most into, they would be: Barbarians of Lemuria, more specifically its spin off, Honor + Intrigue; The Ubiquity system, used in games like Hollow Earth Expedition, Leagues of Adventure/Gothic Horror, etc; Ryutama, a Japanese fantasy game about travelling, and also some of the more polished OSR games, like the ones made by Kevin Crawford: Stars Without Numbers and Worlds Without Numbers.

That said, most of the time I end up using freeform narrative systems, like PQD, Heroquest, Neon City Overdrive and, recently, a step up from that, OVA. Besides that all, I used to run a lot of Call of Cthulhu back in the day.
