"Let's inform the tribe and move on. We will advice them to be cautious for now, and can help them harvest after if the cave is clear."

OOC:
Which way will you go, will you check out the lagofir lair or check the sounds to the east. Or possibly check out what more lies to the south.
Having gone further inside, you can see a tunnel leading further south, though you cannot see how far. The tunnel is littered with rubble.
Dec 9, 2024 3:14 pm
OOC:
Let's investigate the east.
Dec 9, 2024 6:23 pm
Koram watches as Iroven indicates toward the east and nods in understanding. Haitith follows close along at his heels.
Dec 10, 2024 11:51 am
As you move down the eastern tunnel, and you get closer, you see that the unmoving shape you saw is the carcass of a smilodon, partly eaten. Halfway down the tunnel you see a crevasse leading to the south, though it is high up in the ceiling. You also starts hearing the growling that Artesia heard earlier. You also the sound of snapping bone and tearing flesh coming from the south past a flowstone curtain that split the room in two.

Iroven heard the sounds of a predator feasting on its prey, and he signalled it to the others. Slowly he crept forward and peeked from the edge of the corner, trying to see what was on the other side.
Dec 10, 2024 7:29 pm
Looking around for danger, Tomas says "Looks like a hunter has become the hunted. Even departed this poor smilodon could still be an ally. If we could hold off the other beast from its meal for a bit we could perform the ritual our elders taught us. Did anyone take the lessons to speak with the spirits well enough to preform?"

Koram shakes his head at the question. "No, but I don't like the idea of something that can take down a creature like this as prey. Be alert."
Dec 11, 2024 1:10 pm
Coming around the bed, you see a horrible creature crouching over another smilodon corpse, devouring the much larger beast. Noticing your presence it roars in anger.
OOC:
Roll initiative. Anyone who beats its result of 32 can act first.

Haitith rushes forward and strikes at the strange creature. It’s armor is too tough for the attack to get through.

Iroven rushes forward and gets a similar result.

Tomas however, is able to get around and flank the creature and his antlers stick into the animal. Seems most of the damage affects the carcass, almost as if it serves as a shield for the creature.

Then a spell attack from Artesia goes wide, missing it.

The creature roars in anger. Then lashes out with several attacks, each against one of the foes engaged with it. The first attack rips into the barbarian (22 piercing and 4 spirit damage), then a claw smashes hard into Iroven (16 slashing and 4 spirit damage) before the last claw slices into Haitih (12 slashing and 4 spirit damage)
OOC:
