Should I roll Wizardry for Disguise on Asha?
I don't see how others can help, but I should get a circumstance Help die from taking my time, right?
OOC:
Yes. Definitely roll Reason die and a Help die for taking your time in the quiet of the early morning streets. Also please describe some of the risks you foresee from this action.

Ane can feel the magic taking hold, Asha's beautiful face starts to change, but so does Ane's already disguised one. For a heartbeat Ane is disappointed to see her own face on her friend's and is slightly distracted by the idea that she might have swapped and taken the pretty visage, but, appealing as that might be, they need to hide Asha, not have another one.

Ane and Garrett now are looking at Ane's little sister, who has a small yellow bird on her shoulder. Garrett and Ane's little sister are looking at the elderly scribe from the coffeeshop.

Ane is not please to see her sister's face, she does not want her implicated in this, but it does solve the problem of their being immediately recognised, they can deal with the rest later. For now, maybe the others will think it is just an approximation of Ane's own face and not think about sisters.

Ane can not tell what she looks like, she started as a man and ended as a man, she does no even know if she changed until the others tell her.

Wrong!!? That's figgin awesome! I now look like the scribe, and we have his papers! (Pity we didn't get his name.) Maybe we can use that fact?
Would it still be reasonable to think we could nip back and hide the scribe's sleeping body, or has too much time passed?

Garrett standing there keeping watch see the transformation."Well would you look at that. This trick will surely come in handy."

Asha
It is strange for Asha to feel Ane's magic embrace her. It's completely different to the feeling of her own magic, a warm humid breeze instead of a rush of heat erupting from within.

As she works the spell, Ane's own face changes from the tall man she had been impersonating back to her own and then to Asha's for a moment. What is she doing? Is she trading faces with me? Asha wonders before it morphs back into Ane's own face again as her friend continues to cast the spell in deep concentration.

As the spell nears completion, Asha notices a hint of disappointment in Ane's expression. She looks down at her body and finds she appears to be a diminutive figure now. Her long dark red hair is gone from her shoulders, replaced by a small yellow bird.

Unsure about Ane's disappointed expression (not realizing her face looks like Ane's sister), she's about to say encouragingly, "Ane, this is great!" but when she looks back up towards her friend, she instead sees the old scribe and let's out a scream, retreating towards Garrett before realizing it's just Ane.

"Ane! You look like that old scribe from the coffee shop! Did you mean to do that?!?!"
Apr 7, 2025 10:25 am
"Do I?" Ane says, her hands going to her face. "I wasn't thinking about my own face." She admits.

"We should be able to get out of the area safely now that you don't look like .... you." Ane was going to 'don't look like a trouble maker', but was not sure the joke would land.

Her scribe-like appearance opens up options, but she does not want her sister (or even her likeness) involved in any of this, so she hopes the others will persist in their plan to head back to Big Zhad, and not question her change of heart.

"Let's get out of here pronto." Garrett will head off on the way back to Zhad.

"Give me a sec, I want to see what this says," Asha says as she turns her attention back to the scribe's papers that are supposedly about Dalana.

Ane joins Asha in looking at the papers so they can speed up the process. Working together they should be able to make sense of the nonsensical legal mumbo-jumbo.

OOC:
Since we are both doing this, presumably Asha should roll her Reason as well? Is this Help or do we take them separately? Separate means two sets of consequence, and we are working together... Maybe we see what I get and then see if see need bother. ((Waiting for) Help actions can slow things on PbP.)
What do these things say? Ane ponders.

I blame the legalese ... it is not our fault we are too dumb to understand this stuff. :)
Apr 8, 2025 1:13 pm
"Yes. None of this makes sense to me." Ane agrees. "Hopefully Big Zhad has people who can interpret and translate this, else we are wasting his time as well with this stuff...

"You don't think that guy was, maybe, lying to us? To look smart and try to impress you?" Ane asks.

Asha as Ane's Sister, Clown
Asha stuffs the scrolls back into her satchel in frustration, which is sort of humorous because she looks like a pouty kid who didn't get their way rather than an angry adult.

She responds to Ane's question, "Maybe? Although, he seemed pretty defensive and stand-offish about the whole thing as opposed to wanting to show off and get to know me better."
OOC:
Did we at least confirm Dalana's name was on the papers to tell if this is legit and not a complete fake/setup, like Ane was thinking initially because of the weird circumstances at the shop? I don't think we ever mentioned Dalana's name in his presence, so if it's in the papers then he at least knows about Dalana and isn't faking that.
"Okay Garrett, we're ready, let's go see Zhad," she says adjusting her bag over her shoulder so it doesn't drag along the ground and grabbing her too tall staff awkwardly.
Apr 8, 2025 8:48 pm
"Let's move then. Keep an eye out for chili peppers. Hopefully with your current looks they won't notice us." Garrett heads out quickest back.
