The group takes the pharmaceuticals and heads to their next destination. They have limited time, so they need to choose wisely
OOC:
See the poll below. We will follow the will of the majority.

Next destination? Public

The blue arrow (next section, towards bay 11)
The storage near the galley and mess hall
The library / cloning facility
Other (please post about it)
Mar 16, 2025 9:30 pm
Just to be sure, I don't see a "Library/Cloning facility". I see "Library/Training". Was that just a Freudian slip or typo?

Hank just wants to get to the next section, but he's up for checking the Library, regardless of what it is.
Mar 16, 2025 11:15 pm
The (static) map is marking library, but the logs mentioned this:
Quote:
02:50:00 – Last recorded log entry before central server and AI's primary systems failure: "Subject Twelve exhibiting movement despite recorded expiration at 02:47. Neural scans abnormal. Tissue composition… changing. Warning: unknown biological and spatial anomalies detected. Cloned genetic material stored in Library / Cryo-Storage C was exposed. Status of subjects unknown."
Mar 17, 2025 3:38 am
OOC:
The library was also marked in the logs as the destination for the delivery of cloning equipment.
Mar 17, 2025 3:06 pm
Oh, right. Sorry about that. Yeah, Hank agrees we should at least check that.
Mar 17, 2025 4:50 pm
"So, Corbin, Hank," Douklan asks as they prepare to move on, "You've found some info in the logs. Any sense of how much time passed between when they started disassembling the Heaven's Wing and when this...uh...'outbreak' occurred and shut everything down?"
Mar 17, 2025 9:27 pm
Hank will check his notes / datapad to try and answer Douklan's question. As it is a fairly salient one!
Mar 17, 2025 10:04 pm
OOC:
Honestly, I would move on but I know if we miss one of the vital pieces we may die.
Mar 18, 2025 12:15 pm
Corbin will search through the data pads he's carrying for time/date info.

Douklan says:
"So, Corbin, Hank, you've found some info in the logs. Any sense of how much time passed between when they started disassembling the Heaven's Wing and when this... uh... 'outbreak' occurred and shut everything down?"
Corbin, keeping his eyes on his tablet as he walked, exhaled sharply. "It was all in the same week," he said. "The Heaven's Wing arrived, a couple of days passed, and then the bomb exploded. After that, the whole station went to hell." He glanced around. "From the logs, it seems like it happened just a few days ago..."
The room that they entered had once been a library, its shelves designed to hold data slates and research materials. Now, it had been repurposed into a chaotic genetic storage lab. Rows of cloning tanks lined the walls, or at least, what remained of them. Many were shattered, their reinforced glass broken outward as though something inside had forced its way free. Strange fluids pooled on the floor, mixing with scattered research notes and broken scientific equipment.

Maya knelt beside an overturned console, running her fingers across its cracked screen. "This was a controlled setup," she muttered. "Not some crude attempt at cloning… they were doing serious research here."

Hank took a cautious step forward, glancing at a nearby tank. The liquid inside had long since drained, but the imprint of a humanoid figure remained—a faint, distorted outline of something that had once been grown here. His stomach twisted at the implications.

The group could investigate further, try to piece together what had happened here, maybe even find something valuable. But then... A sharp noise echoed from the corridor outside.

They all turned.

Standing there, blocking the way towards Bay 1, were three figures - identical. They wore the same tattered station uniforms, fused into their unnatural, oily black flesh. Their sickly green eyes pulsed faintly, devoid of pupils, devoid of humanity.

Another group of Ryans. As one, they moved forward.

You arrived at Bay 1

OOC:
The files hinted that the Heaven’s Wing had arrived and docked at Bay 11 during this period. The ship also had some of its components stripped and repurposed to be used in the main lab before the disaster struck. Further details here

Uh, I need to make sure of something: In the detailed map, to get to Bay 11 we move to the right. But, in the two high-level maps immediately above, it looks like we move to the *left* to get to Bay 11.

This also seems to imply that the door pointed to by the blue arrow (and the one just like it farther down the right-most wall on the detailed map) go to the maglev station.

Is all of this correct? Just want to make sure I have my bearings correct!

I also want to make sure we are moving towards bay 11, more specifically towards the lab.
Mercer is going to move to be closest to the creatures and swing if if able.

Yes. You are heading towards Bay 11. These maps are using different orientations, sorry about that. Anyway, there is no left and right in space (lame excuse, I know) =D
Mar 18, 2025 9:53 pm
OOC:
Cool! I just wanted to make sure I was reading that correctly!
(Before the interruption) "It looks like we're gonna have to get down to the main lab to find the missing components, then drag them back to Bay 11 where the ship most likely is. Do we want to check on the ship first, then hit the lab? Or do we want to get to the lab first and just assume the ship is in Bay 11?"

(After the interruption) "I guess we need to deal with these guys before we head on out." Hank fires his laser rifle on burst mode.

(The two hit should have an additional +2 I forgot to add in for the burst mode, but it doesn't look like it mattered. I included the +2 on the damage.)

Douklan rushes out of the library and attempts to take a shot before Mercer gets in the line of fire.

"Like I said, I don't think we're killing these things." He looks at them: what are they doing aside from moving toward us? "Now I'm wondering if we're causing them to multiply..."
