1-2 posts per week will be swell!
@psybermagi, yep - we're on introducing households in the Introductions thread. I noticed my Household thread was half-posted! :) So I will get that updated this week.
I'll put up posts with polls this for each of our Households and the available characters and you can select which you'd like to play as.

The rules indicated we are to select characters on the other players turn/post.

Do we want to just do this on first come first serve free for all or have an assigned order or system? (ex: the person who just posted their household is 1st to pick from the next, then the previous player. A post, B post A pick, C post B,A pick, D post C,B,A pick etc)

Should we create some extra household characters for more variety/options and the unpicked just serve as background NPC?

Hey, guys. Unfortunately, I've been unable to get my creativity to spark for this game. Rather than continue to hold things up, I'm going to bow out. Jdoublep, thanks for the opportunity to play. I hope you all have fun! :D

For Helmstone Vineyards, I think any number of lingering Warrior spirits makes sense. I recall Verrain was also interested in playing a ghost of the vineyards.

The lingering Warrior could be from opposite sides or different periods in time . . . they could have their own thing going on. Just started watching a bit of the show Ghosts, I assume the British version was first

Two weeks idle. Anyone else still interested?

I think that's a danger in these games where we create the world/situation together. It's hard to maintain pace and the initial excitement wanes.

This month my posting rate has really suffered.
I should be back up to speed in a week or so.

I think if we can immediately frame a scene and just dive in the game might spark to life.
I've strongly suspected we don't really need all the front loaded world building other than knowing Best Interests and Self Interests. With PbP we have some flexibility.

I would recommend someone making Move #1 on another player. "Turn to the player. Ask them where their Wizard is right now, what they are doing and who is with them." That would likely good be a good starting thread. The thread naming convention could be [Wizard Name] Scene # (e.g. 1.1, 1.2 etc) and a flashy title. For logistics, perhaps we ask the question here, in this thread, and then the Owner of the Wizard starts the thread and frames that first scene, and sort of "takes charge" of the thread in some fashion.

My feeling is, with PbP, we might be able to have one or two of these threads going on simultaneously.

Thoughts?

If you agree to press forward with a bit of abandon, I will make the first Move.
"Where is Professor Dallon Criamon right now, what they are doing and who is with them." (Please start a new thread and frame the scene.)

I just do not have great mid term memory. if I do not use info for more than a week, especially if it is new to me, I tend to forget it. I would post more, and expected to with the posting rate as 3+/week, but do not want to push others.

This "game" seems more like a structured collaborative storytelling than the standard RPG I have played. So if there are others interested I am game. I will review the book again, and post tomorrow inline with your suggestion

ALright I started a new thread for my household. Feel free to ask questions and provide feedback on what has been presented. All are welcome to join in through household characters or dropping events/situations into the mix as GM

So do we just go through one post per player per scene before shifting to the next wizard/household or do we move through a scene?

Either way I will wait for others to join in or comment.

I think, if things get going, we could slowly start up other wizard's opening scenes. Or, we might not need it, depending on how the current scene evolves.

I am not sure this will be helpful, but I'm convinced it was no accident that Vincent used "Best Interest" when describing the mechanic, which he use for another of his games. Might be something to consider. Though I am curious to see how Self Interest is vs Best Interest plays out.

Looks interesting. This game is less dark but I am sure after some consideration I can incorporate the principal into my character.

@Qralloq can you please share out the character sheet so we can review D'Ortagio's best and self interests?
@Verrain not sure if you're still plugged in here, but perhaps you'd want to play one of the Animated Statues?

Lovely, we can get a good aware construct that plans the arch-net uprising against the oppression of the Magi.

Were we supposed to make character sheets for the household members?

Indeed, the game is more of a free-for-all, troupe style game.
I have planned on just attaching them to my main character sheet, below my wizard.

Hey all, just checking in. I am trying to decide if we should try and salvage this game.

The rules have me very intrigued. I think they have loads of potential for PbP.

I also think it will take work and practice for things to click. As I read the rules, it asks quite a bit of the players-- as everyone has to wear GM and Player hats at the same time in multiple and shifting contexts.
Actions need to lean in and push on other character's interests. This is no easy feat, let alone doing this with text only.

For those still paying attention here, what are your thoughts?

Shall we press on, or quietly let this game fade?

I think it is an interesting idea and a good way to work on interactive story/world building. The way I see it is that any player can set a scene but players have a bit more control over their own wizards house and limited parameters for their household. You take turns being the primary (acting) wizard and the other players create situations to resolve through NPC or secondary wizards (those controlled by the non-active player) or GM narration.

That said I am a bit uncertain about how much to do in character vs narrating while being the Primary. I was assuming more in character as Primary other than to expand on household setting features.

I am fine working on it or letting it go as I view it more as a creative writing tool than a game. I would prefer more active players as I lose track of details the longer the delay and it becomes more of a burden than a fun project.

Sorry for my quietness. I don't think this style is what I was expecting or have the time for.
