"Looks like we’ll have to do the job right this time!" Alerio barks through the comms once she sees the ‘man’ still alive.

Could he even be called a man anymore?

"No half measures! Let’s make sure he’s gone for good!" she says, and hopes the Sword Worlder could hear her.

"Just tell me where you want me to be!" she called to Seally, while running through the tasks before her!

Goldie brings up a concise tactical analysis for Zuni in the holographic controls as he takes the reins of the lightning-fast starship.
OOC:
You're currently 30 thrust away. If both the Calibrandr and the Wayward Wind move at their maximum speed, you'll be 21 thrust apart, so no matter what, lasers will still be out of range when we get to the Attack Step. Missiles fired this round will still take 2-3 rounds to reach their targets. So. there is not much use for evasive actions or aid gunners this round, and you can push the engines as hard as you need.

Do the Calibandr's guns have the same maximum range as ours?

What should our tactic be given that they outgun us 3 to 1? Thoughts from the crew?

Yes, the Calibrandr's guns have the same range.

Although they have more firepower, the Wayward Wind has more potential to stack bonuses for accuracy. For example, getting a sensor lock is pretty easy for your more advanced ship, but much harder for them. Plus, you can break that lock pretty easily with your sweet countermeasures suite.

If you hang back, you can fling missiles at each other without worrying about pulse lasers, but the further away you are, the longer it takes for those missiles to hit, and the more chances the enemy has to disable them. The Wayward Wind can disable missiles pretty handily, and you only have 12 missiles so it's wise to make them count.

Seally's plan is solid.

The captain calls to his gunners "Cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war! Use Loki spread pattern to disguise our missile's heat signature."

At the gunner's station in the Calibradr's missile turret, the seasoned warrior brings the triple missile rack to bear, and fires a salvo of three missiles toward the Wayward Wind. Their screen fills with tracking data as the missiles rip through space at 10 thrust, hurtling toward their target.

The gunners in the Calibradr's pulse laser turrets patiently await orders.

Seally, roll 6+ on a Electronics (Sensors) check (INT/EDU) with a bane to detect the Calibrandr's missile fire.

- You can apply +2 to this roll, because the Wayward Wind has Advanced Sensors
- A bane means instead of rolling 2D, roll 3D and discard the highest die.

Engineer & Countermeasures: Since nothing is on fire, Alerio has nothing to fix. From the Countermeasures suite, she can either jam communications so the Calibrandr can't send messages, break / prevent sensor locks to make it harder for the Calibrandr to hit you, or disable incoming missiles. Since no missiles have been detected yet, you can only do either 1 or 2.

Alerio gets a +6 to either action (in addtion to skill bonuses) because of the state-of-the-art countermeasures suite that is at your disposal.

She can use the sensors to acquire a sensor lock to make your weapons more effective, or through leadership she can inspire the crew to the Wayward Wind's improve initiative position (you already are on top of initiative).

Seally gets a +2 to the sensor rolls because of your advanced sensors.

Seally describes over the comms the unfolding action, even as she focuses the instruments to pinpoint the vector the Calibrandr is burning along. "I'll attempt to get sensor lock for that missile. Let's watch for a retaliatory flash, and someone open a comm to the Beowolf. If they can provide any help, their survival odds improve."
