Busy holiday week ...
OOC:
Do you want to try one of the three doors, or do you want to use the other stairs to see if they are different?Jul 8, 2025 8:24 pm
OOC:
I'll assume you just go down the hallway and check things out ...Behind the first door is a long, wide room that seems to be entirely empty. Behind the second door, the same thing. Behind the third door, however, is a different story. It is shaped similarly to the other two, however, there is a large irregular whole in the wall, with a lot of rubble strewn round the room.

OOC:
I am assuming you are serially checking out the rooms from the corridor. Do you want to go into any of the rooms and look in more detail? If so, please give me a roll per room you want to check out.Jul 8, 2025 11:45 pm

Standing outside the room, Blornvid keeps watch on the hallway from whence they came.

As Cords advances on the whole in the wall, you can see that the rest of the room is as unremarkable as the other two rooms. You can only guess these were store rooms of some sort when the temple was active. There is no real indication of what they may have once held.
When you get to the hole, you can see this was made a long time ago. It is also quiet. Not an unnatural eerie quiet, but simply the normal quiet indicating there is no activity occurring. Peering in the hole, you see it smoothly turn off to the right and sloping downward. You also notice there is no particular air movement.

Before following along down the rubble hole, Oliver double checks the other two rooms to make sure they're not missing anything.
"You reckon someone laid a siege here and made this hole?"

You cautiously enter the hole in the wall. As you could see before, it veers off to the right enough to obscure its path, then turns back to the left. However, after only a little over 100 feet or so, the tunnel abruptly ends in a sheer face. It would appear that the tunnel pre-dated the movement of the Remnant, and was cut off when the Remnant appeared in its current location. There is nothing indicating who or what created the tunnel, but it was obviously not part of the temple's design.Deciding this part of the basement was a complete bust, you decide to head back up the stairs and then go down the other set of stairs. When you do so, and open the corresponding three doors, you see a couple interesting things. First, the center room is not as deep on this side as the other side. Second, the third room does not have a giant hole in it.
OOC:
I'm gonna make an assumption here because I took too long to respond with this.

Noting the differences between the rooms on this side, Blornvid suggests, "False wall?"

"That tunnel is useless. I think where it used to go is no longer here. Side effect of this place moving and suddenly appearing here. Let's check the rest out."

"Perhaps Blornvid is onto something. These dimensions are slightly odd."
Oliver taps the wall with the rod and listens attentively to the sound produced.
