Alright. Combat has started.
The initiative is very simple. Monsters and PCs alternate.

The strange and vile looking creature spits out blood as it makes a gargling roar sound. It half walks, half slides from the table and kicks it with great force in the direction of Elma.
monster

At the same time, the bony claw comes down like a hammer from above as it towers over the lizard form of Jotna. It grazes the ceiling, making fresh grooves in the stone before slamming down with great force.
OOC:
Both Elma and Jotna roll for defense. If you fail, you take the damage rolled below.
[ +- ] Image made with AI

Rolls

Damage from table - (1d4)

(1) = 1

Damage from claw attack - (1d8)

(1) = 1

May 27, 2025 9:58 pm
OOC:
Wow you guys got lucky on those damage rolls :D
Warning shot, I suppose! Haha
Borda

As you try to figure out whether or not this thing is real, its claw rushes beside you and you feel the wind caused by its movement in your face. You're pretty sure it's real enough to worry about.
OOC:
After the 2 attacks from the monster, it's the PC's turn.
May 27, 2025 10:20 pm
Elma

Elma stares with morbid fascination as the meat creature forms and moves off the table. Then, without warning, it kicks the table hard and it's heading straight for her face!
The shield would be way too small for this size blow so she tries her best to jump out of the way. She is mostly successful, but the broken pieces that fly off hit her in the back and she feels a searing pain.

In response, she rears around and swipes at it with the scavenged dagger from poor old Keftar.
OOC:
Is Elma able to use her armor (Light Leather Armor (-d2 damage, Tier 1) or shield (-1 HP damage or have the shield break to negate one attack) without breaking one of them to negate the damage?

Rolls

Elma Mork Borg: Agility - (1d20+0)

(6) = 6

Elma Mork Borg: Light Leather Armor (-d2 damage, Tier 1) - Name - (LightLeatherArmor(-d2damage, Tier1))

LightLeatherArmor(-d2damage : - (2) = -2

Tier1) : () + 1 = 1

Elma Mork Borg: Black Kergüs Dagger - Attack - (1d20+2)

(17) + 2 = 19

Elma Mork Borg: Black Kergüs Dagger - Damage - (2d4)

(24) = 6

OOC:
Yes you can use your armor. I think you even have to if you're wearing it. On a crit or fumble, armor is damaged. (Depending on who is criting or fumbling)
The shield can also be used.

I'm not sure how that works for Jotna in lizard form, it looks like the lizard already has damage reduction included.

I don't think there's a minimum 1 damage rule in the book. But if people would like that to be a thing, we can implement it. For now you can reduce to 0 damage.

Lizard Jotna tries to recoil in time to avoid the claw, but her tough hide can absorb the damage regardless (absorbs d2 damage per round). Then she lunges in to bite the nasty creature with her lizard's jaws!

Rolls

DC 12 Agility to dodge claw - (1d20)

(1) = 1

DC 12 Strength to bite - (1d20+2)

(3) + 2 = 5

Damage if I hit - (1d6)

(1) = 1

May 28, 2025 7:15 am
Giggling like a maniac, Merkari moves in and swings her flail at the monstrosity!

Rolls

Flail - Attack - (1d20-1)

(18) - 1 = 17

Flail - Damage - (1d8)

(5) = 5

May 28, 2025 8:20 am
OOC:
@Drgwen are you using an omen on that fumble dodge?

EDIT: Adding some more info for you.
If you take the fumble, you will take double damage. You'll have to roll that d2 for armor and possibly receive 1 damage (this can also be reduces by an omen if you want to)
May 28, 2025 12:24 pm
Borda decides not to argue with reality any longer, stepping back he fires off his sling.
OOC:
Stealthy
All Presence and Agility tests have their DR reduced by 2

Rolls

Presence - Ranged Sling DR10 - (d20-1)

(14) - 1 = 13

Damage - (d4)

(2) = 2

[ +- ] Another combat rule
The monster seems angry that it didn't manage to crush its puny targets on its first try. Then, the attacks of the group come barreling down on it. Elma's dagger and Merkari's flail sink deep into the flesh and create large bleeding wounds. It barely manages to slip away from Jotna's bite and in the process moves into the path of Borda's bullet. It hits the flesh nicely, but seems to do little damage. Especially compared to the other attacks.

monster

The creature cries out in anguish and seems badly hurt but it is still standing.

In a fit of primal rage, it sweeps its claw across the room at knee-height trying to attack everyone at once. At the end of the sweep the bony claws plunge themselves into the stone wall of the kitchen, leaving it more vulnerable to attacks.
OOC:
Everyone in melee range defend (DR 12) Agility against a d8 attack. I think that's everyone except Borda.
On your next attack you get a +4 to your attack roll (on top of your stat bonus)

Edit: 1 damage again??!!?? This is a seriously weak monster :/

Rolls

d2 creature armor (Elma, Merkari, Borda) - (1d2, 1d2, 1d2)

1d2 : (2) = 2

1d2 : (2) = 2

1d2 : (1) = 1

Sweep attack - (1d8)

(1) = 1

May 28, 2025 9:03 pm
Elma

Though she still feels the sting from the broken table, it feels like it will only be a bruise and not a true injury. Just as she is catching her breath, the creature sweeps out with its bony claw to slice through all of them! She does her best to jump out of the way once again.

Seeing how effective the dagger has been, Elma lunges forward again and slashes at the monster!
OOC:
With the crit dodge, does Elma get to try attacking a second time for free?

Rolls

Elma Mork Borg: Agility - (1d20+0)

Elma Mork Borg: Black Kergüs Dagger - Damage - 2nd Attempt - (2d4)

(12) = 3

May 29, 2025 7:01 am
OOC:
No I won't spend an Omen. I'll soak the 2 damage. And in lizard form I am not wearing any armor.
Jotna-lizard again attempts to side step the creature's attack, and then follows up with a bite of her own!

Rolls

Absorb incoming damage - (1d2)

(1) = 1

Regenerate d4 every round - (1d4)

(4) = 4

Dodge attempt DC 12 - (1d20)

(13) = 13

Bite Str - (1d20+2)

(4) + 2 = 6

Bite damage - (1d6)

(5) = 5

May 29, 2025 7:53 am
Merkari grimaces as the claw rakes her legs. She swings her flail again but fails to hit.
OOC:
Forgot the +4 to hit but that will still miss.

Rolls

Agility - (1d20+0)

(6) = 6

Flail - Attack - (1d20-1)

(5) - 1 = 4

May 29, 2025 2:54 pm
Seeing the giant claw swing across the room, Borda takes another step back. Realizing the creature is stuck, he takes careful aim and let's fly with his sling.
OOC:
Wow.

Rolls

Presence: Sling vs DR10 - (d20+3)

(1) + 3 = 4

May 29, 2025 9:37 pm
OOC:
Yes, that second attack is allowed with the crit, quilltid. Looks like only Elma hit this round.
Elma

You stab the monster again and it recoils from your blade, more blood spilling from its wounds. With a groan it pulls its claw free from the wall and eyes the 4 of you as if looking for the juiciest target.
Jotna and Merkari

While you stand there, a voice calls out inside your head. This time it's not Malista like in your dreams, but a deep sinister voice. "Come to me, sisters. Chaos awaits you!"
OOC:
Please roll a DR6 presence test for me.

Borda

Your sling flies out of your hands with your shot. Perhaps it was not securely fastened. Or the slimy mess in this kitchen has made it slippery.
It lands on top of the creature and is now soaked in rotten meat blood.
OOC:
The creature fights on.

Rolls

Morale roll for the monster - (2d6)

(24) = 6

Target (Mer=1,Jot=2,Eml=3,Bor=4) - (1d4)

(2) = 2

May 29, 2025 9:49 pm
The monster raises its claw again. This time it decides to go for just the lizard. The bony hand comes down with surprising speed once again.

Rolls

Damage for Jotna is she's not able to dodge - (1d8)

(8) = 8

May 30, 2025 12:24 am
Jotna hears the voice in her head as she gets walloped by the creature!

Rolls

Presence DR 6 - (1d20+0)

(12) = 12

Damage reduction - (1d2)

(1) = 1

Regeneration - (1d4)

(1) = 1

Agility to Dodge or Defend - (1d20)

(6) = 6

May 30, 2025 12:26 am
Unsure of what else to do, Jotna withdraws from the creature to allow herself a moment to catch her breath!
May 30, 2025 7:43 am
"Quiet, voice!" Merkari shouts as she swings her flail again. "I have enough other ones in my head already!"

Rolls

Flail - Attack - (1d20-1)

(15) - 1 = 14

Flail - Damage - (1d8)

(6) = 6

May 30, 2025 8:25 am
OOC:
@Drgwen remember, you can roll Agility to dodge. The monster might miss.
@Dmbrainiac did you roll a DR6 presence?
