Chapter 3: The Darklake

My experience with Wild Shape shows as I react as if I had not just changed back from an eight armed invertebrate and my spear snaps out at the fleeing creature. Then I swim over to Eldreth to help get her back to the ship.

Rolls

Stinging Spear attack! - (1d20+6)

(2) + 6 = 8

Piercing damage - (1d6+4)

(2) + 4 = 6

Fang's spear lashes out, missing the fleeing creature. With no one in pursuit, he rapidly disappears from your view.

Out of combat. If you want to try flipping the boats, you can either make strength checks now (DC18) or you can all take 20 minutes and guarantee your success. Waiting carries its own risks, obviously.

Sprained muscles and stuff

Rolls

Strength Roll - (1d20)

(3) = 3

Remember, you are all under 1 level of exhaustion as well. So all ability checks are at disadvantage. It didn't really come up in combat (the few strength tests Fang had to make he ended up failing, save for the first one so mah bad.)

Dustin just floats on his back for a bit.

As you all struggle to right the craft, their zurkhwood bodies best your attempts, keeping them firmly overturned in the water.

As an FYI, exhaustion levels take 1 long rest to reduce by 1 level.

OOC:
Is taking the 20 minutes still an option ?
Jan 27, 2017 4:00 pm
As an alternative, one of you could Help another of you, granting you advantage (in this case negating the DA and making it a standard roll) on the check.

Yes, taking 20 minutes is still an option.

OOC:
Let's take twenty then.
Jan 27, 2017 4:43 pm
Hold on there laddy. cemos says as he prepares himself to flip the boat.
OOC:
I am gona use my inspiration to take advantage and negate the disadvantage. Come on dice don't fail me now!

Rolls

(19) + 3 = 22

With a mighty Dwarven heave, Cemos gets one of the two boats turned back over.

You now all have a choice. You can try to turn over the second boat to get underway again. Or you can try to cram the 9 of you onto the craft at the same time. It would be uncomfortable and cramped, and I'm not sure how that would play into the whole exhaustion thing, but you could probably pull it off.

Also, I'm going to go ahead and give everyone 1 inspiration at this point for actions in that combat. You all played pretty close to character and such. :)

OOC:
We could spend inspiration point to negate the disadvantage on tipping the other boat over. Probably best to be underway quick in any case, I think the escaped sharkman will come back with more friends. I believe I only have 1 spell slot left.
