Dustin's spray of color bombards out, and just at the very fringe, Nanny shimmers into view, 15 feet away from Dustin toward the dock.

You vile creature! How DARE you blind me! She cries as she whirls around toward the sound of your voice from casting the spell. She strikes out with her claws.

Back to init rounds. PCs on the boat may take their action now (as they were in on the plan and waiting for her appearance). The boat is currently about 60 feet from the hag.

Four streaks of fiery power streaks out from the boat, tracing a searing line in the darkness. The first goes over her head, but the last three all find their mark exquisitely. The first two hit, and then the third blows out the back of her torso, leaving a scarred hole in the middle of her chest. Her eyes are glassy as she slumps to the ground with a thud.

If Dustin and Stool search her corpse, they find a tattered set of robes as well as a belt with some small creature skeletons dangling from it. In the shack, there are a variety of herbs and alchemical ingredients that you can easily transport back to the boat.

On the boat, the creatures bag shimmers and fades away, leaving nothing there.

Sorry everyone, I thought she would be more trouble left alive then like this. Especially since she could mimic us.

Nothing here. Dustin walks slowly over the island to see if anything might be buried. Then he heads on back.

I did but feel free to double check. A lot of herbs and alchemy things. I am glad it worked out !

When Dustin finishes up getting back to the boat, he comes bearing a chest full of alchemical supplies containing a variety of herbs and other materials for the crafting of potions and poisons. You get everything settled in and begin your transit once again, with 3rd shift resuming their duties.

Time passes and once again you start to cycle through your shifts, making it nearly a full day without anything untoward. However, when the third shift group takes over, you find yourselves in an interesting chamber. It thrums with Faerzress-coated pillars. You've spent the last 6 hours sailing through the eerie light. As you continue through this pillar-filled chamber you hear a rushing of water. Up ahead, there is a massive swirling vortex of water, nearly 100 feet across! Your boat slips into the stream, getting yanked into the whirl. Just as the group takes to the poles to try steering out of the dangerous water hazard, another of those mottled blue/green trolls leaps out of the water, landing square in the middle of your craft!

Combat! PCs may act!

For this, each round your boat will move 1/4 around the whirlpool. Each round you spend in the whirlpool has a chance at damaging the boat. You have decisions to make: attack the creature or assist with poling the boat. If you do NOT manage the boat, you will not exit the whirlpool. If you do NOT manage the troll, you will get killed. Manage both of your threats! :P You can request that the NPCs take over the boat if you want.
