7 days remaining to Neverlight (6 on the Darklake and then you switch to land-based travel, per the charts and group knowledge)
Current Shift: 1st Shift | 2nd Shift | 3rd Shift

You begin heading along, slightly short handed on the first and third shifts with Shuushar's departure from your company. You still have enough that you are able to travel at the fast advantaged pace you've been keeping up with. You know you have another 7 days, more or less, upon the Darklake before you set out on foot again.

The remainder of this day and the next two go by nearly without incident. You've had some time to talk with your new druid friend and trade some stories and information. Nearing the end of the third shift, however, you hear that telltale sound of a waterfall! As you round a bend in a particularly tight cavern, third shift finds themselves facing a wall of water in the distance. On one side, you see what appears to be massive stone doors set into the rock face. By all other rights, you are at a dead end.

4 days remaining to Neverlight (3 on the Darklake and then you switch to land-based travel, per the charts and group knowledge)

OOC:
Dustin's light fingers bit is more that he's able to give over the gold you agreed upon without them seeing where the coins came from on your own boat (since you guys had quite a bit of gold with you, realistically).

Cemos pauses for a moment filled with a deep emotional pain as he looks over the stone doors, he remembers his home in Jornheim deep in the mountains of Aegis.
these doors remind me of home. Give me a moment to collect myself.

For the rest of you, there is an area of land along the rim of the water, about 10' off from the cavern wall where you could disembark. The waterfall area is roughly 150' tall, you can see thanks to Faerzress in the area causing everything to glow. Any spells you cast will need to be accompanied by a D20 and a D100 roll. The doors are smooth, and look impossible to climb. In theory, you could climb the cavern wall on the other side of the waterfall, but it would mean abandoning your craft and continuing in a different manner.

You feel a strange magic course over you, but you shake it off. Other than the Faerzress and those items you are already aware of, you sense no other magical auras.

"Dont sense any magic from the doors."

"Let's check out this waterfall, eh?" Ander says, leaping into the water. As he disappears below the dark water of the lake, his form shifts into that of the sleek, torpedo-like form of a shark, which swims quickly off in the direction of waterfall.
OOC:
Wild shape to shift into Reef Shark.

These doors are likely an entry into a Duergar lock that can raise or lower ships from one body of water to another. How to open them though, I am not fully sure. Perhaps we could anchor our vessel and see if we could find some sort of mechanism.

is my sea troll belt done yet? He would have been working on it during his downtime. If so I'd like to fasten the hill giant potion and the acid resistance potion to it.

Yes, you are done crafting it. You have space for 2 potions at a time on the belt.

Cemos is not excited about getting his beard wet. do you think there is a way to get the boat any closer lads?
Mar 13, 2017 9:08 pm
We can always try. There seems to be an area we can bring the boat too and all get out. I must admit I don't know much about Locks, well these type of locks I mean. How do they work ?

Dustin will look in the shallow water area.

OOC:
As a point of reference, the giant doors are actually in the water. Sorry if that wasn't super clear earlier.
