Unfortunately as you all heave on your respective boat objects, you aren't as impactful as you would like and you spiral into the main flow of the whirlpool! Thankfully, the stress on your hull isn't so bad and you don't notice any immediate damage.

However, as you get sucked into the middle of the whirlpool, another of the aquatic trolls leaps from the water and lands in the middle of the boat. Reaching out, he tries to snag the nearest oar-person to his landing, Dustin! His teeth lash out and he gets a nibble of your shoulder, dealing 6 damage.

Combat! PCs are up! You now have an aquatic troll chilling in the middle of the boat having a Dustin snack, you are also nearing the center of the whirlpool and can see that the spiral is nearly 150' across and drops a good 450 feet down into the water.

Dustin has to change actions since he is under attack. He tosses the paddle to Stool and draws his dagger.

Dustin's dagger slides into the troll's side, causing it to howl in pain.

Nope, just clarifying which bit of nasty got you. He gets a bite and 2 claws per attack. :)

Ander leaves his oar and speaks quietly under his breath, his hands motioning rapidly. Moments later, a blade of flame roars into life in his right hand, and the druid leaps to attack the troll.

@Drama, do I add my DEX mod to the attack since its melee with a scimitar? If so, add +3 to the damage. Take the higher of the damage die rolls.

Also, triggering your dagger device is a bonus action, so you can either apply poison dose or disengage.

@Adran - You would treat it as light, so yes, dex mod for attack and damage. As for the damage, is it slashing or fire damage?

It's fire; if you look at my character sheet I've got all spell descriptions listed, but I'll try to get in the habit of posting the spell description in the casting post.

Good deal.
Ander's blade slices into the troll and it howls with a voice fueled in fury. You can see the flame cauterize the wound and the flesh turns gray around the slash.

I'd like to use portent rolls in exchange for troll attack rolls for the next couple of rounds. Think it was a 3 and 6.
