"Endurance" was the name of Shackleton's ship that got stuck in the ice on his famous Antarctic expedition. Might be fitting.

I like that. I was going with the Eldridge because it's the ship that supposedly traveled through time in The Philadelphia Experiment. I like Endurance better, though.

I gotta admit I missed that reference! That makes Eldridge fitting too, but I like the sound of Endurance. :-)

And we have our bags of holding for supplies
Forgot about that! Nix the sled, I guess.

Theoretically wouldn't a dead body fit in a Bag of Holding? :-P

Yes, I believe the openings are a 3' circle

The sled might still be useful. Put it in a bag of holding too!

Will be up to my neck in work for the next 48 hrs.

Yeah guys, I'm going to be totally slammed with school/theater for the next two weeks so I won't be home till 7:30 EST every night, which means any games I'm in can't expect me before then. Sorry!

What's the island look like? Is it tundra, or are there trees? A sled might be a good idea even with our Bags. Some of our gear won't fit into a Bag, and if there aren't any trees, we'll need to bring some firewood with us.

What you can see so far, it looks like a frozen tundra waste land.

Lunitar, what are some possible destinations on the island that our characters would know about, either from prior knowledge or from maps on the ship? Also, do our characters know how big is the island roughly? Thanks!
Feb 15, 2017 10:52 pm
They would have studied the maps of the island. The islands is about two days travel to get from one side to the other. Before it was frozen, the lush land was dotted with farms and smaller holds, but the town was in the center, that is where the lord and the keep lay. Off to the north there was a small mountain range.

Canned goods?

In glass, meats, root vegetables, veggies and fruit.

Is this something the PC's are familiar with? IRL canning wasn't invented until the 19th century but of course this is a fantasy world. Just wondering if the sight of those jars would have been familiar to us or not.
Feb 19, 2017 10:28 pm
Yes, they had jars that held potions and some liquor in, so I am just assuming pickled veggies and salted meat would be kept in glass or ceramic.

Jabes.plays.RPG says:
Gunnar breaks out his carpenter's tools and busies himself building a sled for Dirk's body, as well as any extra supplies or provisions the group might night.
I realize I failed to specify what supplies. Here's what Gunnar would have put together. Let me know if any of this would not have been available on the Endurance.
-extra coils of rope
-grappling hooks
-climbing kit
-a tent
-fishing tackle
-block and tackle
-a ladder
-sacks
-spyglass

Similarly, Gunnar will scavenge anything from the farmhouse that's still serviceable/useful, like that canned food.
