Trying to find the right balance of player vs character here. Having revived Thorn, Iasu would tend to Namtur next. But metagame-Jabes wants to help the PC more than the NPC! So the ruling both makes sense and spares me the indecision.

Speaking of temp hp's, I still have "9 temp hp" noted on my sheet that I can't remember where from and if they're even still active.

EDIT: But given that neither of my patients will really benefit from any first aid right now, I think I may send a revised sequence of withdraw+ranged.

They would still be active Kray gave us a boost before going in.

And J, the 5e rules from temp Hp, is you can only get it from one source. If another source gives temp HP you pick which one you want because they don’t stack.

Edited my sequence to withdraw, draw bow, and fire. Did I do that correctly: +1 for ranged attack? Or should it have been +1 ranged AND +3 1d8 weapon?

Was tempted to use bonus action to Dash or Hide, but I think Iasu would hover near his patients for now.

Jabes, you got it right on the Speed Factor. Ranged Attacks are supposed to be quick. High damage or low damage, Initiative Mod is set at +1.

Yo, Players' Club. Anyone else seeing some freak out weirdness going on with pictures?
On my screen, some pics are working fine. Others have fucked up colors. Others are changed to a big block of green. Others a big block of black. WTF, bro?

Any ideas?

CB, you know anything about this?

That tech issue I mentioned above, whatever it was, resolved itself later in the day yesterday. False alarm.

OOC:
Full movement east, longbow attack. I did not include a bonus action in my announcement, so as I understand it I can't take one now to Dash, unless it qualifies as Battlefield Adjustment. Iasu intends to run circles around Uburatu and turn him into a pincushion.
It's true, Jabes. The complicated first system we used (DTI) has a Battlefield Adjustment mechanism built in, but this one (ADTI) does not. So in this program, if you don't announce something, you don't have option for it when the shooting starts. Can lead to some frustration, missed opportunities, etc.

Sort of the point I guess, so you have to make the strategic planning and tough decision on whether to press for speed (by limiting options and Initiative Modifiers) or pay for versatility and quantity (stack up more Modifiers by selecting more Action Options).

J, looking forward to this becoming "That Fight Where We Changed Initiative Rules Every Round."

Instant classic.

Ha! You think?!
I was thinking maybe that. Or maybe "The Fight Where Everyone Got Tired of the Unfair Changing Bullshit and the DT Project Collapsed".
The Final Classic.
"Endgame" TOO fitting of a working title?

I've been slow to post this past week. Got coworkers in town from India and San Jose taking up lots of hours. Also had a sewage backup and water damage that meant I had to replace part of my bathroom floor this weekend. I think my waste pipe collapsed (pulled out several gobs of clay soil with a rental rooter). Plumber coming out tomorrow to take a look with professional eye. I am pretty sure some trenching is going to have to be done and pipes replaced. That means the family will be living out of a hotel room for the next week. Likely to have limited posts next week.

The most exciting part of this weekend was when I was backing the rooter out, did it too fast and the line sprung out of my hand, coiled and twisted, and then slapped me across the back with fresh shit water.

This is awful and hilarious. My middle child often tells me he's had the "worst day ever," and I like collecting little anecdotes like this to share with him for comparison. My reply last week was, "It can't be. Remember the day I found out it was going to cost $1100 to fix the car, and then when I came home the dog peed on my shoe?"

Hope your hotel stay makes up for the fact that it's not home.

I feel your pain CB. Haven't had it that bad, but snaking out sewage pipes... love that pure black liquid. Nasty business.

Alert Feat: Player can choose up to two different Category of Action dice, and use the next die lower for the Initiative roll on each of them.

Rakish Audacity: Player can choose to roll only a 1d4 for Movement Initiative if it precedes an Attack Action, or can roll an Attack Initiative die as one die lower than normal.

So with both of those, my movement and both attacks with non light weapons would be all d4s?

Right, Ox. Bryn is built for Alternate Initiative.

Altogether, on AVERAGE, it should deliver about -3 to result I guess.
Jan 31, 2019 12:54 am
J, do you interpret Fifth Edition d20 initiative rolls as Dex checks? Meaning a PC with 3 level of exhaustion should roll those babies with disadvantage? And if so, does that translate over to bastardized versions of initiative rolls with d10s and d6s and stuff?

X, Bottom Line: No Disadvantage this time. I just wanted to run the system through as-is on this exercise, with no further debates, confusion, explanation.
But you are right. We should address that idea specifically in the longer run. Probably in future we will say it should be Disadvantage.
Last round during ADTI, I did impose Disadvantage to you and Namtur, who were both in the ZHPS. Seems justifiable, because ZHPS is an effort to illustrate performance degradation in the aftermath of severe bodily injury, whether the rolls are considered Ability Score checks or not.

Oh man, I forgot that Maeriks' poisoned state would make initiative at disadvantage too.
Jan 31, 2019 12:13 pm
Can Iasu tell (without examination) who is poisoned?

OMG! Trece is not Unconscious making Death Saves!?!
With Trece being outside initiative and the no death saves, I feel like he's going to exit stage left.
