Episode 1

Thorn struggles against the sea of Glaakieou as they seek to take him to the floor and end his life. Somehow, in the madness, he is able to strike out at one of the monsters currently striking at his ally, but then he is forced to use all of his strength to avoid being wrestled down.
The creatures suddenly cease their wild violence and twitch absurdly, giving him an opening.
He strikes out behind him at the creature holding him, attempting to break free, but misses. I second attempt, and he lands a solid blow.

Light floods back into the chamber. Fires in the four great cauldrons in the room flare up. The darkness is pushed back. The image of pale stars above fades away and the ceiling is seen reflecting the glow of the fires.

The bullroarer hums and buzzes, up and down. In the background, Rutcranna's voice can be heard, chanting. Her words are unknown, but her volume and intensity of inflection increases.

Now the warriors can see their surroundings, and all of their attackers. The Glaakieou, for the moment at least, are reeling in stupor and body spasms. The Ulathi strive on, apparently set on capturing women.

"Sine! Casidhe! Everyone! Come to us. Hurry! Come to me, gather in the first circle," Rhone's voice calls out.

Then she bellows out with great vigor, "Champions, fight! Save each the other! Rally! Slay the pawns and rally here!"

Transition R X2 to R X3

Remaining Options in R X2:
Bryn Actions
Maeriks option for Reaction: OA against G8 if desired.

Top of Round X3 is open for PC business!
Not required today, but staged up all day and going into tomorrow (Monday).

Remember, Glaaks have Stunned Condition. Deep Ones are normal.
Anyone previously Grappled by Glaakieou is now free, condition ended automatically.
Glaaks also suffer Double Damage! Feel free to just post up rolls and damage normal. I will give it the TIMES 2 factor on HP Battle Tracker. Inside lane info: on top of all that, Glaaks no longer benefit from Barbarian Rage Damage Resistance. Is that a 4x multiple swing on damage vs. these toughguys?

Thorn is already on the board. He fucked up G12 something terrible with the 20+ damage result on the new Vulnerability/No Absorption Program.

Good luck. On the balance.

Now free of the grappling Glaakieou and having just received the Ulathi net from Doirind, Ivor is just about to call for a tactical retreat. But he sees Doirind surge forward to try and rescue Boann. Foolish woman! With a snarl, Ivor drops the net and surges forward also. With his free hand he grabs the net that has ensnared Boann. "Pull, woman!!!" Ivor roars, and without bothering to free Boann, tries to make off with the net and the women back the Rhone's position.

Thorn
Round X3

Thorn throws up the sword wildly, perhaps a bit off balance with the sudden release of the Glaakieou that was gripping him. The seasoned veteran quickly recovers though and chops downward towards his faltering opponent with all of his might.

The result is an explosion of blood. Urdav's heavy two handed sword lands at the top left shoulder of the reeling madman. With the full thrust of Thorn's swing, the metal cleaves through flesh and bone like butter, sliding through tendon, sinew, clavicle, scapula, and onward through ribs both front and back as it glides downward along the spine. The blade finally stops when it is in the soft tissue of the organs in the lower torso, so the body glides off with no resistance as the dead madman's weight tilts backward and crashes to the floor, cloven in a grotesque v-shape.

The other madmen around Thorn are convulsing and stumbling in similar manner, hindered by some unseen pain or ailment.

Thorn sees Kray over his right shoulder, but their is one opponent between them.
Aug 27, 2017 11:15 pm
Thorn takes advantage of the twitching Glaakieou. He slides around the remaining enemy between himself and Kray, chopping savagely at it on his way.
OOC:
Trying to move to occupy the space where G15 fell so Kray and Thorn can move as a unit back to Rhone. Mechanically, I think Thorn could get all the way back (if I'm reading the chart right); tactically and flavor-wise I think it makes sense for them to get back there together, so unless something stops him or Kray has a completely different idea, Thorn would like to reach Rhone (and still drag Laoise, I guess, although I notice poor girl's name is written in purple...)

Edit: Sorry, shouldn't be doing this right when I wake up. Ignore the first 2 rolls, as they were made with the wrong attack bonus, proficiency bonus having been switched to 100% defense. :(

Ivor
Round X3

Ivor charges towards Boann and Doirind, like a bronco just released from the gate. His weight and momentum drives Glaakieou and Ulathi aside has he tears through the crowd and seizes Boann, still wrapped in the net, under his arm.

Shouting at Doirind on the way, Ivor drives backward as quickly as he came, barreling through the crowd, half-dragging half-carrying Boann, with Doirind assisting him on the pull.

He crashes into the Ulathi who originally cast the net at Doirind, and reaches a stall as he digs in to press or cut his way through the Glaaki pawns ahead.

U3, U4, U5, and U6 all would, and did, try at Grapple attempts as Reaction OAs. None are successful. It is impossible for them to score a 27+ on comparison.
Ivor's overtake of Doirind under his command moves her Action into Top of Round.
Final location at end of Movement is the square inhabited by U1 at the beginning of R X3 (with 2 Glaaks, G6 and G7, adjacent).

Round X3

Doirind rides on Ivor's momentum, pulling Boann away from the door. As they crash into the Deep One who is wide-eyed at the shocking scene, Doirind slashes out with her blade, seeking to cut a path forward.

The blade strikes the creature, but unfortunately does not penetrate its rugged skin.

Now the center of the aisle is cluttered with a mass of bodies as Ivor, Doirind, and Boann drive into the Ulathi and two stunned Glaaki pawns close behind.

OOC:
X, this is a savage entry, but I just wanted to ask to be clear: Is this Thorn's use of Action Surge during Round X3?

Thorntron already split a guy in half here, as R X3 Action. Movement is still possible for sure. Those Attacks 1 and 2 are also with Action Surge, but I'm checking to see if I'm interpreting correctly on that burn on resources.

Lastly, if the Attacks are a go, can you clarify targets?
Looking at the grid, it looks like the path should go first through G14 (Hint: G14 is down with that first hit) and then second through G19 (or G4 if you wanted to angle over). Sound right?

Boann
Round X3

Boann tries to get free of the net.

Success. Escape ends Restrained Condition. Movement ends Prone Condition.

She is able to shift out and stand up beside Ivor and Doirind.

Action Surge.

With desperation she swings the axe that Maeriks had given her, trying to chop down the Deep One who blocks their path way to Maeriks and Rhone further on.

Miss.

Off-balance from the wildness of the charge, Boann is unable to connect with the strike.

OOC:
Nope, that's just Xorthan jumping the gun. Somehow I had it in my head that we were at T X4. Apologies. From now on I'll drink at least two cups of coffee when I wake up and take a good hour before attempting anything in this amazingly insane game we got going on here.

I guess we can see where we are when it comes back to Thorn's turn and decide it makes sense to fit in that last bit there (although I'd be surprised if it did)? Or however you wish.

Thorn
Round X3
(cont'd)

Movement

Thorn pushes and weaves through the stunned Glaakieou with ease. He makes his way back to the circle in short order. On the way he lifts Laoise up and carries her across the line of runes on the floor and then lays her down again, within the outermost circle and beside Rhone.

Laoise is unconscious and bleeding from a head wound. Rhone, standing nearby and looking out into the aisle, takes notice and nods to Thorn.

Kray
Round X3

Kray makes his way back alongside Thorn to the rally point within the outermost circle. He takes a swipe at one of the Glaakieou along the way, but the madman's convulsion and erratic movement cause the swing to miss.

Kray takes position guarding Rhone, looking out at the others who are trying to make the retreat. He sees them jammed up in the middle in a crowd. Maeriks seems to be in bad shape.

Sine, Casidhe
Round X3

The young girls Sine (pronounced SHEEN plus a small half-enunciated "nah" tagged on at the end in Dannein. Die-hard Yuoric pronouncers probably just say "Sheen") and Casidhe run into the circle holding hands.

Rhone looks at them, "Where are the others?!". She is rolling out her med bag on the floor. But also getting back to chalk writing quickly.

The two girls look at each other, back the way they came, and then back at Rhone. Obviously not sure.

"Get them here! NOW!", little Rhone yells, rather ferociously. She looks at Laoise, bleeding on the ground, then looks out forward again. A worried look out at Maeriks, Ivor, Boann, Doirind - still shifting through a pile of adversaries blocking the way.

The other girls look terrified. They turn and call out, "Aisling! Muirne! Come on!"
"Hurry! Run here!"
, they say.

Round X2
vs. Maeriks

G7 Attacks with 2 hand axe, Reckless
G8 Attacks with Khopesh, Reckless
Both Attacks at Advantage. Both Attacks at Disadvantage. Results in a single roll per Attack.

Seeing that Maeriks is under duress, two madmen attack in full frenzy, seeking to lay their victim low and press past him to reach the witch girl.
Despite his best efforts, Maeriks' vigor gives out and takes a glancing blow form a handaxe onto his head, taking out a nasty chunk of scalp and then continuing on into his clavicle. -1 HP. CON modifier is +3.

Death Saves: 1 stabilization marks / 0 death marks
Maeriks is in the Throes of Death Zerh HP State.

Round X3
Maeriks balks, dazed and pained by the axe blow. He raises his spear, reading a strike - and the masked men have stopped moving. This gives him pause and he blinks the water from his eyes for just a second and takes the situation in again. Doirind and Boann, his shield maidens, struggling against Ulathi. Ivor fighting at their sides. Stunned Glaaki all around. Rhone calling to fallback to the circle. Fire in his shoulder and head.

Without thought and forsaking his own defense, Maeriks locks onto the nearest Ulathi engaged with his shield maidens and charges the creature.

Proficiency moved back to +2 Attack
Attacking U1
