OCC Nyom and Zinobia can do same Situational awareness roll, but it is +2 difficulty roll for them.
Jax still need to make the roll, it is Difficulty 2

Zinobia runs forward, leading the way. He is ahead of party, using his Yulk at ocassion to clear the path from vegetation which could slow other party members.

Jax is lagging a bit behind zenobia. He starts to feel a bit uneasy though after looking back and seeing Ronna so far away from the group. After all the tracks looked fresh, the hounds may have already been alerted of the groups presence.

Keeping pace with Zinobia has forced Nyom to be a little less careful than she normally would while out in The Beyond. She pauses for a quick moment while taking in her surroundings.

Jax with his perceptive and just eye noticed the dangerously increasing gap between Ronna and the party. His trained eyes also noticed distant movement, and his heart in fraction of second turned his body back, towards Ronna. He noticed the Broken Hounds in distance, grouping for massive coordinated jump attack on Ronna, and he with all his prowess hurled towards staggered lady, which according to his quick analysis was in invietable danger.

Perhaps the drastic change in rhythm of metal clanking of his shield when he was running with the party, alerted Zinobia.
Zinobia turned back and saw Jax sprinting back, and then distant, almost non-visible for him figure of Ronna, and immidiately hurled towards Ronna as well. He hissed loudly "Ronna! Help them! Now!!!!" alerting other party members.

Ronna noticed closing on her and surrounding hounds. They are prepearing for jump. There five hounds surrounding Ronna, and one closing from distance. there could be more.

OOC:
After this turn Ronna will be attacked.
5 Hounds are in short range from Ronna and prepearing for jump.
Jax will be able to sprint to Ronna and be at immidiate distance of her before next turn starts, this means he spends this turn in to reach Ronna.
Ronna could not move from vicinity of hounds, and all she can do is to use item or perform esotery or attack with ranged skill.
Other party members need to do Graduated Sucess Speed roll which will determine distance they will be able to move during this turn. All applicable skills and speed effort could be used.
Zinobia, Mandoric and Lucas need 24 points in order to get to immidiate range of Hounds and Ronna.
Nyom needs 29 points to cover all the distance.
Reaching required number will mean getting into immediate range.
Reaching required number - 5 will mean getting into edge of short range (15 meters)
Ranged attacks could be intiated at ranged weapon optimals , calculating distance as 1 point = 3 m

Zinobia with all his prowess he could gather running towards Ronna. He pulls his blowgun out on the move. That slows him abit.

Mandoric is no glaive, and fears his seskii would simply be torn apart by the terrible beak of even a single hound, so although he and the seskii run with the party, he is hoping at best to reach some cover, perhaps a low rocky outcrop within short, not immediate distance of the beasts, from where he can offer support in the form of a diversion. As he runs, he fumbles inside his bag for a large, foul smelling dried sausage - a whole daily ration for the seskii, though his animal companion is going to be disappointed today...

The seskii is distracted by the sweet fragrance of the tasty treat, and bounds around Mandoric, slowing his progress. They cover about half the distance to the broken hounds by the time the glaives engage.

Ronna still has a trick up her sleeve. She glances around, looking for a suitable spot: preferably a rock large enough that the hounds won't reach there, but any reasonably safe (and closer to the other members of the group) location within Long range (and outside Short) will do. She does not get too smart about it, but picks the first suitable place.

When she has found her target, Ronna quickly kneels, draws half a circle into the dust in front of her and leaps into air. It's not quite taking into flight, but it's close enough: the jump is much longer than any human would normally be able to do, taking her a Long distance away from the hounds. From her controlled movements and soft landing, it's easy to tell that this is not the first time she has done this.

Ronna casts Far Step esotery. The cost is 1 point point from her Intelligence pool (normal 2, reduced by Edge of 1).

After Ronna lands, she quickly stands up with a cheeky smile on her face and readies her dart launcher.

Lucas turns to follw Zinobia to get within range to use his bow. He hasn't told anyone he's never been in combat before but his nerves are killing him. His body seems to know what to do though and he sprints toward Ronna and the hounds while drawing his bow.

He fits an arrow as he skids to a halt 100 ft from the hounds (20>14 so I'll stop 10 points out as opposed to running all 20)

Lucas swiftly arrive to possition for bow attack, and able to prepare the shot. Next attack bow attack -2 difficulty, making it trivial to hit Broken Hound N2.

Ronna craft her tricky mirracle in front of broken hounds and now at long distance, not far from Lucas, and 90 feet distance from the hounds.
In same moment Jax hurled himself, arrived to the place where Ronna was and following his movement inertion collided his mace into one of Broken Hound's chest, and the collision launch the hound into air, and it falls on the ground, making small cloud of dust. Jax at immidiate contact with hounds.

Mandoric and his Seskii keep together and are at 130 feet distance from the Hounds, and moving.

Nyom is at 60 feet from hounds and moving.

Zinobia prepeared his blow dart, and at 150 feet.

@harlansdski - please post from the character so you will be preserving the immersion.

GM instrusion > Jax (with XP on completion, of course)


Broken hounds without loosing track and their urge for fresh blood, hurled at Jax all together, biting him at once.

One of hounds lying on the ground and wounded and knocked down by Jax's mace hit.

Jax takes 8 might damage from Broken Hound group assault (4 Hounds participating), and need to perform Might Defence task to not be knocked down (Difficulty 4 before any modifications - could use effort)
Please update character sheet.
Jax can attack this round, if he succed at that Might Defence roll.
Broken Hounds N2-5 performed jump on Jax.

Broken Hound N1 is near death lying on the ground.

Broken Hound N6 Running towards Jax.

Hound N7 at long distance and running towards Nyom.

There more 1 hound at long range, coming from opposite side of the battlefield. It heading past Jax, in direction of Nyom and Zinobia.

Zinobia moves further, pulling small bottle from his waistband and deeping dart into the small hole in bottle's cap.

+2 difficulty (-6 to roll) due preparation action.
14 points final, using only 7, and saving 7 for better aim and -1 difficulty hit modifier for next round


Zinobia moves 70 feet and aims with his blowgun and dart he coated with liquid from his bottle.

Seeing that Jax appears to be getting overwhelmed, Nyom, with her spear in hand, will rush towards him.

Mandoric, seskii food sausage in hand and his faithful companion run towards Jax and the main throng of broken hounds. Mandoric's calculating eyes search for the best rock to hide behind nearby.

Spurred on by fear the merchant runs fast, but he over-thinks the cover location, ending up at the perfect distance away from the hounds, but behind a small rock which offers no real cover. His seskii bears his teeth at the broken hounds, the spikes on her head and back quivering with aggression.
