YESSSSS! I was just thinking this morning how much I missed Bload.

Does Zangua's reaction attack count as "the next attack" for the purposes of getting Advantage from Guiding Bolt?
Jun 16, 2018 4:40 pm
Yes, Zangua can reroll his missed attack.
Jun 16, 2018 5:17 pm
OOC:
Adding Advantage on Reaction attack

Reaction Attack Advantage - (1d20+8)

Blood and scales fly as Zangua pushes back against the dragonborn's attack, striking once across his shoulder, getting him to spring back with a second slash, clipping him in the side with a fast lunge, and finally smashing the side of his knee with the glaive pole. The dragonborn, crouched in a low, wide stance, maintains his balance and crab-walks backwards, claws up in a defensive posture.

Leth jogs backwards toward the inn, quickly shooting arrows as he approaches some cover.

Leth! Let us know when you're back!

Edit: Both of Leth's arrows narrowly miss.

Rumio looks around wildly, hand on his undrawn blade. "Curse it all," he hisses through clenched teeth. He seems undecided between joining the fight and fleeing.

Felor, Zangua, you're up.

~meanwhile~

Domarc and Mordred continue to enjoy a pleasant walk back to the inn. They hope all is well with their companions.

"Yeah, you guys are making a real good case for peace," Zangua says, heavy with sarcasm. "Reeeeal trustworthy. Much love." Each statement is punctuated with heavy swings from his glaive upon the dragonborn. He falls into silence, saving his breath for a surge of additional strikes.

Are Dragonman and Rubio within 30 feet of each other?
Jun 20, 2018 7:57 am
"Fjorgyn! Stay these heretics!" Shouts Felor, as he slams the base of his spear into the ground.

Cast Hold Person, using level 3 spell slot to target both dragonman and Rubio.
Spell DC: 14

Rumio arches his back suddenly and drops to his knees, frozen rigid. The dragonborn sinks lower into his fighting stance, but stops moving. Rage boils behind his widening eyes.

This time, it seems, Fjorgyn delivered.

Felor and Zangua, you may take actions freely for the duration of the Hold Person spell.

Rolls

Dragonborn and Rumio WIS saves

Jun 20, 2018 4:56 pm
Zangua spins his glaive, thankful for the stationary target. "We only need one, right?" he asks Felor.

Did you want to kill the dragonborn outright? You can coup de grace him at this point.
Jun 20, 2018 5:13 pm
OOC:
Zangua will kill the dragonborn, reasoning that the "hesitant man kneels before Fjorgyn."
Jun 20, 2018 5:19 pm
Zangua opens the dragonborn's throat with a graceful sweep of his glaive. The dragonborn's eyes stay fixed on Zangua as he bleeds out, crumpling onto the ground as death releases him from Fjorgyn's hold.

Sweat and tears stream down Rumio's face as he watches his comrade die.
Jun 20, 2018 7:49 pm
"Well-" Felor starts, but before he can get any further Zangua has already executed the dragon-man. Rolling his eyes, he moves quickly to disarm Rubio, and begins to tie him up using rope from his pack. As he works, he recites prayers, mostly to himself: "Praise be to Fjorgyn, worker of miracles, destroyer of the unholy; As strong as the avalanche; As implacable as the mountain."
Jun 20, 2018 8:05 pm
Zangua kneels to inspect the slain dragonborn, rifling through pockets to find anything of interest. "Praise be to Fjorgyn," he repeats.

Rolls

Investigation - (1d20)

(1) = 1

Jun 20, 2018 8:10 pm
A small crowd watches from in front of the inn while Felor ties up Rumio. He pisses himself as the spell wears off and his muscles relax. He does not resist or struggle, but stares at the dragonborn's body with a look of bleak despair.

~meanwhile~

Domarc and Mordred pass a pair of young girls picking plants by the side of the road. They stop and watch the two of you warily as you pass. Ahead, far in the distance, you can see the inn. It won't be long til you rejoin your friends.

Edit: Zangua finds nothing on the dragonborn except for a plain silver ring on his left hand.
Jun 21, 2018 9:50 am
Felor checks Rubio's pockets to make sure there's no concealed knives or anything to effect an escape, then moves around to look Rubio in the eye. "So, you say you chose peace over vengeance. A stance I respect. But what of your friend? It seems he chose the opposite? If your teacher wanted to avoid more 'harmful misunderstandings' then what was he" Felor indicates the dead Dragonborn "trying to accomplish?"

Do I need an investigation roll for the pocket check?
Jun 21, 2018 4:34 pm
Felor relieves Rumio of his short sword, a small knife, a tinderbox, a small vial of clear liquid, 6 GP, and 8 SP. He also has an insulated pouch containing three pieces of ice.

You can do an Investigation check for a more comprehensive search if you like.

"Your reputation...he feared you would draw on us as soon as you knew who we were...I told him to put his trust in me, let my words do all they could, but..." He trails off, shaking his head.
