Character Creation
You will also get some Oath Spells. You always have oath spells prepared. Oath spells don't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day.
Something to keep in mind: a lot of Paladin spells are concentration spells. You can cast other spells while concentrating, but you can only have one concentration spell going at a time. It really makes it difficult to come up with a well-rounded list.
By the way, I'll stick with Kit and be one of the rescue-ees. Kit will take a Sorcerer level, giving him sorcery points he can use in conjunction with a Warlock's ability to regain spell slots after a short rest.
Len, should I keep Kit's old spell list until the rescue?
1. Stick with our current character (promoted to 3rd level) and be a prisoner and eventually rescuee.
2. Create a new character and be part of the rescue team.
Looks like McDunno is taking Option 1 and Starbearddo is taking Option 2. Am I understanding this right?

I think I did the spells correctly. Since I have 3 spell slots that means I essentially can cast 3 spells per long (or short?) rest? How do the Oath spells impact this? Also I included the channel divinity spells in my spell list, is this correct?

Having three spell slots means you can cast up to 3 spells per long rest. You can cast the same spell 3 times or 3 different spells or whatever you like.
Keep in mind that your Divine Smites also use spell slots. Smites are probably better than most spells. You can trigger them after you hit with your sword and it just stacks on extra damage.
Chanel Divinity does not use spell slots, it is separate. You can Chanel your Dvinity once using either option, and then you need to do a long or short rest before you do it again.
On a separate note, I see you have a maul and a great sword. I'd recommend just picking one. It's not like you can dual wield them.
