OOC:
Is it player turn yet? Wasn't sure if we were waiting for ourselves to post our actions.
May 27, 2016 3:26 pm
OOC:
I haven't marked damage on Feng's sheet yet, but I will if that's the end of the Widow's turn.
May 28, 2016 4:54 am
The Widow tears into Feng with a well placed strike, knocking the monk slightly off balance. She follows up with a swift undercut that catches him full in the chest opening a bloody gash across his feathered abdomen. She snears in challenge and almost smiles at the four adventures in the hall.
OOC:
Sorry all. I thought I had finished the post and was waiting for actions. Looking back I can see it was incomplete. Feng takes 25 damage from two attacks, one a critical. Player's turn.
May 28, 2016 5:18 pm
Tonton darts in, lancing his blade for a gap in the Widow's armor. He presses the attack hoping to overcome the skilled warrior through numbers.

Fēng staggers under the Widow's brutal sword strikes. Desperation dissolves all his restraint - he jabs high and then low, at her face and then her vitals, aiming to disrupt the flow of her life-force, and follows through with a wing strike to her chest.
OOC:

Tonton, using the confusion of his allies attacks, slips a strike between the chinks of the Widow's armor. As she winces and reaches for the wound, Urki and Feng launch devastating follow up attacks, taking advantage of the momentary distraction. It is enough for Feng to pierce a crucial nerve in the Widow's neck, rendering her conciously motionless as Utamuro steps up to strike her down.

Rolls

With a gurgle of blackened ichor spewing from the corner of her mouth, the Widow sneers. Under to move her body she cloaks out with all her effort, "Vengeance . . . will . . . be . . .mine . . . on all of you!" She forces the last out with the remaining breath in her lungs and the burning coals of her eyes dim to darkness. You can hear muffled sounds coming from the room next door.
Jun 14, 2016 3:53 pm
Tonton kneels next to the Widow's body, tilts her head back, and begins to carve it off at the neck. Though Shimazu is the primary target, felling the Widow ought to impress their employers.
Jun 14, 2016 5:32 pm
Feng turns away from the trophy collection with distaste. But there isn't time to worry about that right now. He steadies his breathing and focuses his ki, preparing for whatever may be in the next room.
Jun 19, 2016 9:09 am
At length, Feng slides open the shoji panel leading to the adjacent room.

Tonton hacks off the gruesome trophy and sticks it in a satchel. Fēng slowly pushes open the door to the inner room.

A group of goblin children, none older than 6 years old, almost an adolescent for goblins, lay bound and gagged. Tonton and Utamuro remember others taken when they were questioned but not as many as are here. Ten goblin children are in the room in varying states of starvation. Three look fed but recently bloodied.

Slowly, unsurely, and eventually nine sets of eyes look at Fēng, some retreating on contact. Varied emotions flash across their faces ranging from abject terror to relief. The tenth lays in darkness in the corner and doesn't move whatsoever.

Tonton nods to Utamuro, and proceeds to canvas the rest of the house. He looks for other rooms where opponents may be hiding, as well as passageways that might lead to their true target, Shimazu.

Utamuro walks into the room with the goblin children, looking them over briefly before bending low and removing the gag from one of the children, "What happened here?"
Jun 25, 2016 2:15 am
Fēng moves into the room after Utamuro and begins tending to the wounded younglings.

Tonton gets a quick lay of the land, searching the rooms of the building. He finds doors leading out to the east and south through the outside hallways. One room seems to be the Widow's room, another a fastidious study with calligraphy haikus written in goblin pictograms. There is also a small kitchen where you can see a soup on to boil. While you are doing your sweep, you hear something in the great room. When you go to see what it is, you notice it is coming from the bonsai tree.

Shimazu does not allow his farmers to speak anything but Goblin. The one you ungag begins to speak haltingly in Goblin. These children and their conditions definitely tell a story though. As Fēng moves through the children, he only makes a child scream as he accidentally squeezes a bruised arm. The scream is muffled a bit by the gag but it could have been heard by someone close. As Fēng tends to the children clumsily, he notices the tenth child is missing his arms and legs to the shoulders and knees.

Tonton himself does understand Goblin. However, his attention is now on the bonsai plant as he sources the sound from the great room.

Assuming I'd use Investigation?
