The Widow takes a few unsure steps on her wobbly knee. As she turns to back to look at Tonton, he can see the green fire in her eyes stare deep into his sins. He feels judged and the eyes gaze and burn away the emotional walls so that he only knows the burning hatred of the revenant Samurai. I will deal with you shortly. She says as her leg begins to knit it self back up. She turns back to Utamuro, rotating slowly around to put the Samurai between the assassin and herself. She lowers her fiery sword in front of her, the blade making her graven face flicker with shadow.

Vengeful Glare vs Tonton. Wis save DC 15. Regeneration 10 hp
Sep 20, 2016 4:06 pm
Tonton struggles to avert his gaze before the image is burned into his mind.

Rolls

Wisdom save - (1d20+1)

(6) + 1 = 7

Sep 20, 2016 10:37 pm
Tonton is paralyzed until the revenant deals damage to him, or until the end of the revenant's next turn. When the paralysis ends, the target is frightened of the revenant for 1 minute. The frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, with disadvantage if it can see the revenant, ending the frightened condition on itself on a success.

Now we shall see how good with a blade you actually are, Samurai!

OOC:
The saving throw is for when I'm frightened, right? Not when I'm paralyzed?
OOC:
Yeah, you already rolled and failed against that. You can describe what paralyzing fear she has summoned with her Vengeful gaze. That fear will affect you at least one round before you roll against it.
Sep 22, 2016 8:18 pm
"Yes, let us see who is the better swordsman," Utamuro says, before moving forward to engage.
OOC:
If I hit, I will attempt to do a Goading Attack (DC15 Wisdome Save): When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to attempt to goad the target into attacking you. You add the superiority die to the attack’s damage roll, and the target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the target has disadvantage on all attack rolls against targets other than you until the end of your next turn

Depending on my rolls, I may decide to do my Action Surge

Edit: Yeah, I wanna give it a try. Action Surging!

In all his years of service, rarely has Tonton faced one possessing such hatred. The malevolence in the Widow's gaze is enough to give the wood elf pause, freezing him in place as he imagines that power unleashed upon his master.

Fēng tries his best to lift the beam to free the sword. He tries to gain some leverage by using his spear.

Rolls

Athletics (disadvantage from Exhaustion 2) - (1d20+3, 1d20+3)

1d20+3 : (9) + 3 = 12

1d20+3 : (2) + 3 = 5

Utamuro slices four perfect strikes against the Widow, changing up his strikes to fly beneath her defenses. Her sword is always just a half second to slow to parry the slashes. Finally she catches his blade with hers as embers spark and her eyes flare in the red light.

45 damage to the Widow from Utamuro.

You can see some of the wounds begin to knit themselves back together. You will pay for that insolence! The Widow strikes out with her blade with renewed vengeance.

The Widow renegerates 10hp and then strikes out with her Flame Brand.
OOC:
That first damage roll didn't work due to formatting so I'll roll it again as well as the second attack. Also, if you can survive this, she is looking very beat up.

Rolls

Attack 1 - (1d20+7)

(17) + 7 = 24

Attack 2 - (1d20+7)

(13) + 7 = 20

Damage 1d8+2d6 (Flame Brand)+4d6 (Vengeance) - (1d8+6, 1d6)

1d8+6 : (6) + 6 = 12

1d6 : (3) = 3

Sword Damage 1 - (1d8)

(6) = 6

Fire Brand + Vengeance 1 - (6d6)

(634465) = 28

Sword Damage 2 - (1d8)

(5) = 5

Fire Brand + Vengeance 2 - (6d6)

(224146) = 19

The Widow's fiery sword answers Utamuro with two strikes driven with the fury of her fire. Tonton watches as his master falls but can feel the paralysis leave his body. The Widow gloats over her ferocity not paying attention to the Wood Elf behind her.

Feng uses his spear to leverage the sword out of the grasp of the corpse. He grabs it and looks for an exit as the house falls apart around him.

The dwarves watch as the samurai falls before them. They back up a step each, the warrior looking to the wizard for some sort of command but the wizard just holds his hand out in a gesture indicating they should wait.
OOC:
Feng, I took your first roll since you used your spear to apply leverage and had it negate the disadvantage from being exhausted. Utamuro, on your turn, I'll need your first death saving throw. If you are healed before then, you will be able to join the fight again. You are presently at 0 hit points.

Seeing his master fall, Tonton finds the will to move again. He sprints up to the Widow, sword raised in a reverse-grip. At the very last minute, the elf slides past the Widow to his knees and plants the tip of his blade into the ground to act as an anchor, coming to a stop by Utamuro's body. In a fluid motion, Tonton pours a healing potion through his master's lips while shielding him from any blow.

Rolls

Healing Potion for Utamuro - (2d4+2)

(22) + 2 = 6

Oct 25, 2016 2:36 pm
Utamuro coughs and sputters for a moment before opening his eyes. Seeing the Widow still standing before him, he leaps to his feet, katana at the ready. Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he resumes his fighting stance and begins slashing at the monster, hoping to bring her down.
OOC:
Second Wind to heal as a bonus action

If I hit I will use Trip Attack (DC 15 Strength Save): When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one superiority die to attempt to knock the target down. You add the superiority die to the attack’s damage roll, and if the target is Large or smaller, it must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, you knock the target prone

If she fails the save, she will fall prone (but she'll take the extra damage either way) and I'll have advantage on any further attacks

EDIT: Pretty sure both hit :) 16 damage on attack one, 14 damage on attack two

Rolls

Second Wind - (1d10+5)

(9) + 5 = 14

Attack 1 - (1d20+7, 1d10+4)

1d20+7 : (14) + 7 = 21

1d10+4 : (6) + 4 = 10

Attack 2 (possible advantage if she falls prone) - (1d20+7, 1d20+7, 1d10+4)

1d20+7 : (15) + 7 = 22

1d20+7 : (19) + 7 = 26

1d10+4 : (10) + 4 = 14

Trip Attack extra damage if I hit - (1d8)

(6) = 6

OOC:
Instead of weaving his way back through the burning house, can Feng just fly straight up? Is anything blocking his way?
Oct 25, 2016 6:36 pm
The ceiling is weak but no holes. You would take some damage to fly through the roof but it's possible. I'd call it 3d6 if that's what you wanted to do.
Oct 25, 2016 7:20 pm
OOC:
At 13hp and exhausted it's too risky. I'll go back the way I came in.
Oct 26, 2016 3:21 am
That should take your move action. Did you want to do anything else?
Oct 29, 2016 6:24 pm
Feng reemerges from the burning house and tosses the sword to Utamuro "The Widow's sword." the monk hisses. "Use it! 'Seichō shimasu' is the command phrase!"
OOC:
Can I attack on top of that? Including attack rolls just in case. Also, if Utamuro's Trip attack was successful then Fengs' attacks would have advantage.
