You have indeed. I think Oraten made a high risk move and Bartholomew is probably going to die.
Bartholomew moves adjacent to Oraten and readies an action to strike with his sword if anything moves close.

Fist gripping his crystal so hard he can feel the corners biting into his palm, Thorndyke ushers the families on to the east, moving slowly along with them as they go.

"Don’t look back!" he yells, wishing he could follow his own advice. Instead he plants himself near Harold and summons up the Arcane energies from deep in the crystal. As his consciousness intertwined with the energies he sees a way to cause one of his enemies to falter. He points at the nearest enemy and his lips move of their own volition. Two things happen; first the Arcane energies twist around his target forming a link between the two, and immediately after another bolt of energy leaps along the link.
OOC:

My deepest apologies for the lack of posting. I had a near fatal injury this past Saturday, and have been in the hospital for a number of days. Alas, I have returned! I have been eager to post! Just to make sure I caught up right, is Actaeon ready for action?

My god man I’m glad you are ok. Yes the party has currently taken a group of raiders by surprise and is now in the middle of the first round. Take your action as you wish.

Thorndyke’s blast of arcane energy eliminates H2 from the field of combat.

Actaeon fires his arrow at the first enemy within sight, aiming to redeem himself for missing the last shot- he aims between the humans eyes.

Thank you! I'm recovering really well actually! Also, I forgot you double the first damage roll after it's a crit, so you can ignore that 2nd roll XD

OOC:
The way I run Iniative is in groups...of your "group" is up then anyone within that group can post in a first come first serve basis. I find it moves combat along a little faster as people don’t have to wait as much. So for this "surprise" round the entire party is up so anyone in the "party" which is all you guys can place your round 1 actions in any order despite Iniative rolls. After this round I will post periodically which "groups" are up and who needs to post. If you are named then you don’t have to wait for another person just go ahead and post. I hope that is clear enough.

Looking to his left H1 doesn’t even have time to react to his comrade being magically slaughtered right in front of his eyes when an arrow hits him right in his ear and protrudes our the other side. He keeps spinning around in a circle for a moment as the brain sends out its last impulses before the body collapses to the ground.

**Varl is up**
Mar 14, 2018 3:01 am
Varl runs to the bushes on the corner of the building where he attempts to hide himself from view using his Mark of the Wild ability.

Through the bushes Varl spots the remaining kobolds as he draws a dart from his bandolier.

Taking careful aim, the monk heaves the dart at the closest kobold (K1).
OOC:
This movement should put me in the bushes directly in front of A on the map. I realise the distance of the ranged attack is beyond the 20 metres optimal range of my darts so have rolled disadvantaged.

Hopefully with mark of the Wild any attack on me as a hidden target comes at a disadvatnage to the attacker right? Haha if not, I am hanging out in the bushes just for the fun of it - mysterious monk behaviour.

Rolls

Dart Ranged attack to K1 (1st Roll) - (1d20+6)

(10) + 6 = 16

Dart Ranged attack to K1 (2nd roll) - (1d20+6)

(3) + 6 = 9

Dart damage - (1d4+4)

(2) + 4 = 6

Mar 14, 2018 10:06 am
OOC:
Hide is a regular action unless otherwise specified and mark of the wild just allows you to take that action with fewer constraints. Also you would need to roll stealth in order to hide but that would negate your attack. The upside to your current position is you should recieve half cover from the bushes in your current spot.
Carl’s darts are unable to find their mark.

The townspeople, children in tow, all dash across to the east trying desperately to get to the keep, to safety.

The pack of kobolds, seeing their human "leaders" taken down in the blink of an eye retaliate.

K1 charges forward sword in hand and attacks Oraten. ...

K2 moves up, pulls out his sling and launches a bullet at Oraten (pack tactics gives him advantage on the attack)

K3 dashes forward and gets right up in Harold’s face.

K4 dashes forward wielding his scimitar to greet Bartholomew

K5 steps forward some and readies his sling. Targeting Harold...(dis for distance but pack tactics gives ad so it neutralizes)

Rolls

K1 attacks Oraten - Dagger, piercing - (1d20+4, 1d4+2)

1d20+4 : (17) + 4 = 21

1d4+2 : (1) + 2 = 3

K2 attacks Oraten - Sling, bludgeoning - (1D20+4, 1d20+4, 1d4+2)

1D20+4 : (12) + 4 = 16

1d20+4 : (8) + 4 = 12

1d4+2 : (1) + 2 = 3

K3 attacks Harold - Sling, bludgeoning - (1d20+4, 1d4+2)

1d20+4 : (1) + 4 = 5

1d4+2 : (3) + 2 = 5

Mar 14, 2018 10:10 am
K1’s dagger misses on the initial stab but as K1 pulls backs he clips Oraten on the arm drawing first blood for the kobolds. K2’s sling flies overhead landing harmlessly in the grass behind Oraten. K5’s sling shot misses wide right against Harold.

Waiting, poised to swing his sword, the Dragonborn grins as the kobold runs towards him. Without a word he takes his opportunity and attempts to strike K4.

With a burst of energy, the monk sprung from the bushes as he spotted his opportunity as the dragonborn swung at the nearest kobolds. Varl had his sights on the kobold with the sling (k2) and sprinted straight at it. As he moved into striking distance Varl fell to his knees and slid passed the kobold with his sickle swinging at its side. Once passed the kobold he finished his slide by movong into a standing position, back to thr creature. After a moments pause he snapped a deadly kick backward at the back of the kobold's neck.

With precision and skill, the Golden Dragonborn removes two more combatants from the field with two crisp swings of his long sword. Meanwhile a few yards away, the Elven monk uses his martial prowess to dispatch another of the reptilian creatures.
