Chapter 2: The Skinsaw Murders

Did Aldern leave a key or any clues how to get in when he died? Viktor asks when he circles around and meets the rest

"Keys? Who needs keys?" Shadow smiles as she moves forward, pulling out a roll of cloth. She looks over at the others and suggests, "Maybe provide some cover while I do this? Townsfolk are seldom keen on 'unlawful entrance'."

Viktor moves in to block the view from the street, standing by the door back towards Shadow. Make it quick, he whispers. You are all too right about the townsfolk's prejudices.

Viktor lays an incredulous look at the others at the sound of the man they fought and destroyed not a week ago. Carefully, he raises his finger to his lips as to signal silence as he draws his flail. He nods deeper into the derelict house and advances towards the door that might lead to where the voice came from.

Gognar looking as shocked as Viktor pulls his hammers, muttering to himself about how ghosts should stay dead when they are killed. All the while glancing around the main room for anything out of place as he moves toward the door the call came from.

Shadow bravely lets everyone else go first, then closes the door quietly behind them, making sure it is NOT locked.

Urthask's jaw drops before he grimly clenches his teeth. Hand on his sword hilt, he follows Gongar and strides into the kitchen.

Xanesha sent us, Viktor blurts out, only now lowering his weapon.

Skriz, still finding all of this hard to believe given what his companions told him about Aldern Foxglove, and what he witnessed in the manor house with the Skinsaw Man and Iesha tries to make some sense of what is going on here.

Viktor tries to get a better look at the supposed Iesha who he spent some time talking to and thinks he would recognize. He inches closer and squints slightly, trying to figure out what is happening.

Viktor is visibly uncomfortable as he shakily asks Iesha and Aldern What do you want with us?

"There's transmutation magic at work here, though I'm not sure I can figure out quite what it is being used for."
